"You're quite distracted today", Rio said and slid down the wall they was leaning on. They had a free period and the same thing did Meadow but something was different with her. She just nodded at their words and they didn't get a response. It was like talking to a wall.

"Yeah I know, sorry..", Meadow stammered. Was she distracted? Definitely, because Nyx had been on her mind the whole damn day. Even if she hated to admit it she had caught feelings for someone she didn't have a chance on at all. She just had to get Nyx of her thoughts and start finding someone who could be there with her for her life. She liked Nyx but they couldn't be more than best friends since he doesn't like her so there's that.

"Is this about Nyx?", They suddenly asked and Meadow wasn't prepared so she ended up slamming her head in the wall behind her.
"By the looks of your face I'm gonna take that as a yes, and you are probably wondering how I know about your little trip to the forbidden corridor yesterday. Uhm I was there but I didn't know that you and Nyx were there because I didn't see you guys but I heard you two. I would have declared my presence but I didn't see you two anywhere so...", Rio continued fumbling with one of their earrings.

"Invisible, invisible cloak and Dyxie used some sort of Disillusionment charm. Eh and yeah my mind is thinking about Nyx even though I know I have no chance in hell on him", Meadow replied platonically and sat herself down on the ground with her feet in a cross.

"Too bad", they mumbled but it didn't seem like they meant it for some reason.
"Well, maybe we should do something to get your mind on other things. I heard rumours that it lives a gigantic squib in the lake and maybe we are lucky to spot it", Rio said and their friend snorted.

"Nope absolutely not the lake or anywhere near that sort of watery thing. You see I'm petrified of lakes, the sea, oceans and water that isn't in a swimming pool or a facility where no living creatures are", she admitted. Rio hadn't heard about this before so their immediate response was to wave their arms around almost as a fly was swarming.

"Why have I not heard about this before?", they questioned curiously and Meadow shrugged. It wasn't that important to know.

"Didn't think it was necessary but I don't know", Meadow stammered scratching the skin beside her fingernail and Rio observed this and grabbed her arm.

"Don't do that Sunny, it burns like hell when it's all scratched up and I don't want that for you", Rio told smiling. Meadow gazed down at her arm and didn't know what it was but something was changing with Rio. They were different but she didn't know why.
Meadow switched her glance up at Rio and stared into their amber eyes which reminded her of flames. She has no idea what caused it but in their face, it was a sign of pain which they were trying to hide.

"Are you okay, seems like your in pain", Meadow asked alarmed. Rio sighed and thought about what to respond. They were indeed in pain because it felt like their organs were getting twisted while their stomach was being beaten by a sledgehammer and at the same time being stabbed over and over again.

"It's just cramps which are abnormally painful this time and it feels like I'm getting stabbed a million times in the stomach", they claimed. Meadow felt bad about this since she didn't know how it felt and she never would. She stared down at the arm and Rio still held tightly around it so she saw this as an opportunity to help.

"I can help you if you want", she told brightly.

"How?", Rio asked but before they got an answer, it felt like all their pain was getting drained from them. They looked stunned on Meadow's arm when black veins starting crawling up her sleeve.

"Better now?" Meadow questioned joyfully and Rio was speechless. All the pain that was there had vanished in space.

"Eh, definitely but how did you even do that", they responded breathily.
