A bright light shined in my face, I groaned a bit as I turned my body to the side, burying myself under the blanket. It wasn't until someone began to shake me vigorously that I became annoyed, shooting up from underneath the covers to tell whoever was doing that to piss off.
"What the hell is wrong with- ow!" I hissed, lowering myself back onto the bed slowly. I felt a hand on my shoulder, supporting my body as it was lowered onto the bed. I rubbed my eyes a bit before I looked at whoever had been holding me, afterwards I couldn't help but smile.
"What are you crazy?!?! Sacrificing almost all of your magic like that-" I pulled the idiot into a hug before he could finish, a small tear falling from the corner of my eye. He sighed into my shoulder, returning the embrace
"Im glad you're okay..."
"Likewise dummy" i responded, smiling. The door suddenly slammed open, startling both of us. The pyromanic quickly shifted, using his body to cover me from view. The male quickly relaxed, realizing it was only Erza, leading both of our children inside the infirmary.
The two children climbed onto my bed, Igneel resting his head on my lap while his sister snuggled into my side. I smiled before Erza suddenly dropped what appeared to be a photo album at my feet, I gave her a questioned look before she opened up the book revealing paragraphs upon paragraphs of messy illegible handwriting.
"Y/n, very happy to see you're awake, now! We have important matters to discuss about your-"
"Erza! Mira needs your help at the bar!" Lucy shouted, peering through an opening in the doorway. The redhead huffed, picking up her album and waving us goodbye as the blonde entered, taking a seat beside me.
"How're you feeling?" She questioned, her eyebrows upturned a bit, I assured her I was fine, thanking her for everyone she did for us.
"-after all without you...I'm not so confident he'd be here right now..." I said, Natsu sighed, standing beside me and resting his hand on my shoulder. I placed my hand on his and turned to Lucy, immediately noticing a rather large stack of papers in her hand.
"Is that-"
"Yeah, I...took what you said to heart and I'm not rewriting it. I want you and Levy to proofread it before I send it out though." She blushed a bit as she handed me the large booklet, I smiled brightly and pulled her into a hug.
After a few minutes of just talking, Lucy dismissed herself, saying she needed to get home since Cana was waiting for her.
Natsu looked out the window, watching as the sun slowly lowered. He took a seat beside me, placing his hand in mine.
"Are you feeling okay?" He asked, I nodded, caressing thumb with mine. He looked at me questionably, cocking his eyebrow up a bit as if he didn't believe me.
I scoffed and smiled, looking in the opposite direction before turning my attention back to him. "I swear! Im fine, a little tired but I'm okay" he only nodded, resting his head on my shoulder afterward.
I relaxed a bit, laying back down carefully in an attempt to avoid waking up the kids. I felt a sudden pain in my stomach, causing me to flinch a bit, and as a result, alerting the fire mage beside me.
"Whats wrong are you okay?!"
"Im okay, it's probably just a cramp, also shut up you're gonna wake up the kids"
He sighed in relief, getting up from his seat and pecking my forehead, slinging our children over each of his shoulders.
"What're you doing dummy?" I asked, letting out a low chuckle.
"Im gonna take these two to your grandmother, she's downstairs, she says she'll take 'em home" he explained, I only nodded as he left the room. I scooted my body over to the side of the infirmary bed, I looked over to the chair he had been seated in and noticed a large blanket hanging off of it.
I frowned a bit, letting a bit of guilt settle in realizing the poor mage had been here all day and night.
It wasn't until I heard the door open that I stopped frowning, turning my attention to the male walking in.
He walked toward his chair, not sparing me another glance before I pulled him to my side. The male gasped in response, giving in and adjusting himself a bit before pulling me into his chest.
The fire mage held my hand, staring down at it as I looked into his dark eyes, his eyebrows furrowed and his heartbeat racing intensely.
"You alright?" I asked, Natsu shook his head, stopping whatever he was thinking about and nodded. He assured me it was nothing before grabbing the hand he had been focusing on so intently earlier.
After a few minutes he cleared his throat, the two of us making eye contact as we shifted to look at one another. He glanced away for a second, a very faint pink color dusting his cheeks.
He continued to look down at my hand, and it wasn't until I looked at it as well that i noticed what was wrong.
"My ring...fuck my ring!" I shouted, I attempted to backtrack my own memory, attempting to figure out where the hell it could be.
I began to apologize to the pink haired male profusely, repeating to him how I never intended to lose it. He only laughed in response, placing a small kiss on my forehead before slowly reaching for his pocket.
"You know how we got married on just impulse and we never had an actual ceremony?"
"Natsu that's not important right now I lost the ring I'm-"
"Just listen," he said, I merely nodded, the guilt still fresh in my mind.
"You remember how in the arena at the games I said that once we won we could have an actual ceremony? Well, now that the fighting is done i thought-" he trailed off a bit, pulling out a small velvet box from his pocket.
I placed my free hand over my mouth as he opened the small box in front of me, revealing a silver ring with small rubies welded into flower details on it.
"Maybe we could start planning that, and I figured we'd need new rings so I had metal head help me make these..." I smiled as he gave me his usual grin, taking the ring out of the case and slipping it on the finger the original had been placed on.
"You made this?"
"Metal head did the welding and I helped, Lucy and Levy helped with the design though, look-" he continued, taking a similar ring out of his own pocket and showcasing it to me. "They thought it would be a good idea if we had each others favorite gemstones on 'em! Mine got the lapis one you like and yours have rubies!"
I traced my finger over the ring, staring at it in absolute awe before returning my gave to the thoughtful idiot.
"So do you like it?" He asked, his voice cracking the slightest bit as he questioned me. I smiled, cupping his face and leaving a small peck on his chapped lips before burying my head into his chest.
"I love it you dummy, thank you."
