Part two-chapter twenty three: from someone else's view 2/2

"Gray and Gajeel informed me about the child's words before she fell faint, take someone with you and investigate...for all we know this method that were trying could not work. Bring back whatever you find Lucy."

I nodded and walked out of the infirmary, heading downstairs and toward the bar. Gray and Gajeel were seated there with Cana, all three of them worried about y/n's condition.

"Cana you busy?"

"What no?"

"Okay good, were going to Crocus right now."

I grabbed the brunettes hand and ran out the guildhall and to the nearest station.

"Might wanna explain to me whats going on?"

"Were gonna find a back up thing for y/n! Just in case this goes wrong!"

"Four hours?! Are you sure thats the quickest one to Crocus?!"

"Im afraid so ma'm."

"Fine we'll take it!" I said, slapping down a bag of jewels on the counter and snatching up the tickets, the train was about to arrive and I had no intention of missing that train.

Cana and I sat down on a bench in front of the train stop, considering it was quite crowded we were practically smushed together. I felt my face heating up intensely as the brunette shifted a bit towards me, eventually deciding to just rest her hand on my thigh.

'Oh my mavis I think I might have a heart attack'

"Hey Lucy, you alright?"

"Huh?! Oh im fine! Perfect I swear!" I panicked, Cana giggled a bit at my reaction and leaned back on the bench.

"So what is it exactly that we're investigating?"

"Y/n said something odd before she passed out...something about her mother's room on her bed? Im not quite sure...I guess Gajeel, Juvia and Gray heard it since they told Porlyusica about it."

"Maybe its somethin precious to her? I would use my cards but they don't tend to help much in y/n's case..."

"What're you talking about?"

Cana stayed silent for a moment before looking down at her shoes, "last time I did a reading for her was before Tenrou...two of her cards were good and the other two...were kinda mixed..."

"What were they?"

"Well one was the death card...which is ominous I know...But the message of the Death card is not to focus on that loss with grief, but with understanding. Just as in nature, old life must die back in order for new life to grow."

"How'd she not notice it?"

"I slipped on another one, one that so happened to be the empress card, which is a maternity card. Basically only means you'll have a positive pregnancy outcome."

"Did you tell her that?"

"No...I told her it was for marriage since it was a future card...I was kinda hoping I was wrong...that I had read the cards incorrectly."

Cana looked up and noticed the train, just barely arriving. The brunette stood up, extending her hand out to me, I took it, allowing for her to help me up and pull me into the train.

The two of us sat down, side by side. I looked at the girl for a second before continuing our conversation.

"How come you wanted to wrong?"

"We were only 18! Hell, she had just turned 19 a few months before, i didn't even know her and Natsu were together so I thought it would be some random assholes baby. On top of that, the death card scared me, I didn't know if it was going to happen to someone in our guild, one of our closest friends, you! I was scared..."
