Valentines day special: modern au

So I had the idea that for holiday specials id write modern/school au one shots so enjoy you gremlins :) <3

I groaned and threw my alarm clock across the room, probably breaking it in the process. I groaned and looked out of my window, the sky still completely dark out.

I grabbed my phone from my nightstand and pressed the power button gently, "3:30 am, ugh i hate working at fiorway sometimes" I complained, standing up and walking toward my closet and pulling out my uniform. I slipped off my pajamas, putting on the black pants and collared t-shirt, along with my name tag.

I walked out of my room quietly and closed the door, sneaking out into the living room and grabbing my car keys from the small table. Just before I left I heard the sound of footsteps coming from the kitchen, "whats today squirt?" I heard a gruff voice ask, I grabbed my coat off the coatrack and turned to my older brother and rubbed my temples before he handed me a monster from the fridge "February 13th, the second worst day of the entire year." Gajeel snickered and handed me a granola bar.

I bid goodbye to my brother before leaving our small apartment and heading off to work to do inventory before school.

Ive been working at the floral department of fiorway for three years, since my sophomore year of high school. Now most times I loved my job, most times, except for on the entire week leading to valentines day. Everybody wants specific arrangements and fast, and we're too understaffed to do much, meaning angry customers.

I turned on my car heater in an attempt to keep the cold air out, turning on voice text on my car afterwards. I drove down the freeway, there weren't many cars out since it was only 3:45, meaning I could possibly get to work on time.

I sighed and pulled into the parking lot, taking a long sip of my monster before getting out of my car and heading into the large grocery store through the front doors. I walked toward the employee lounge and looked around the store, I noticed that the deli lights were on.

Poor Natsu, I know he hates opening early.

I went to my work locker and put my car keys in the locker beside my backpack that had been there since yesterday.

Inventory typically took me only 30 minutes, so I should be able to take a quick nap before school. I walked toward the cash register and grabbed a clipboard on the side with my name on, I looked over the list and skipped down toward the unchecked flowers, walking toward the freezer.

"Mkay, three full Magnolias, a full dozen red roses, ten full orchids, a full dozen pink roses, five full lilies, fifteen full daisies, and two full cone bushes...seems easy enough."

I took a sip from my monster and spent the next forty five minutes double checking a bunch of flowers, once I was done I looked over at the clock in the small office outside of the freezer.

"5:10, only ten minutes until I can clock out..."

I walked out of the office and toward the deli area, where a certain pink haired boy was slicing ham. I sat on the counter beside the register watching as the boy continued to slice ham, not even batting an eye toward me.

"Relax babe, i see you, let me finish up and we'll go get coffee"

I nodded and scrolled through my phone for a few minutes before turning toward Natsu, who was now eating a slice of the ham he had finally finished cutting and just dropped on the bare counter.

"You're gross..."

"You're disgusting"

"And you love it"

The boy chuckled and tried to cup my face with hands, i grabbed both his hands before he could, pushing them away from my face "um maybe take off your nasty ham gloves?" Natsu rolled his eyes and pecked my forehead gently before going and taking off his gloves, and washing his hands.
