186 🩺 The 𝐇𝐚𝐢𝐥 Stans

The moment the first thud hit the roof of the car, Mingi knew one hell of a storm was about to hit. It wasn't often that it hailed, but when it did, it left devastating damage in its wake.

Turning on the radio, Sejun scanned for the news to catch the end of a weather warning, updating road closures and down powerlines. With hail and thunderstorms accompanied by gale force winds and torrential rain and flash flooding, the next eight hours seemed like they would be the longest eight that they had seen in a long while.

'Aishhh... I'm going to end up with so much hail damage to my car, shit...'

Looking outside the car as they turned into the dorm estate, Mingi nodded. 'Probably... Hey we have a car port that is free since neither me nor my roommate have a car. Do you want to park and wait out the storm?'

Sejun bit his lip as he ducked to look out the window at the building storm around them.

'It's not very safe to be out right now, come in. It's fine~.'

And so, parking and sticking to the undercover, Mingi led the way to his home, unlocking the door to find all the lights off.

'Didn't you say you had a roommate?' Sejun asked, taking off his shoes.

'I had one,' Mingi said, glancing around. 'San-ah?! You home?'

Waiting a moment, both boys froze as they waited and listened.

'He's probably stuck at his boyfriend's place. I think I vaguely remember him saying he was visiting today. Anyway. Welcome~. It's not much, but it's home.' Mingi took his shoes off before walking inside, followed by Sejun.

'Bathroom is down the end of the hall. I think we have pasta leftovers too. Sorry it's nothing fancy.' He had to speak up a little to be heard over the sound of the pouring rain outside, and the constant pattering of what sounded like sizeable hailstones on the roof.

But when Mingi had expected Sejun to give him an uncomfortable that's okay, he actually smiled genuinely. 'I love pasta. That sounds like heaven.'

And suddenly, Mingi relaxed. 'Good~.'
