Sitting on the plush rug in the living room leaning against the couch, four heads of hair sat, watching Lucifer on the TV. In the dark, they were wrapped up in blankets with steaming bowls of kimchi fried rice huddled close to their chests.
With Seonghwa and Hongjoong wrapped in one cocoon, and Mingi and Yeosang in the other, it felt quite wholesome, just the four of them. It probably could have passed as a date night for the two eldest, but for Yeosang, it was more like the last night, before he broke his heart.
He wanted to enjoy himself. He wanted to surround himself with the people that made his heart warm, and mended...
And so half leaning against Hongjoong's shoulder, and half against Mingi's, he smiled to himself, emotionally.
The others could tell something was off, and he hadn't been lying when he'd told Hongjoong that he just missed his brother...
But the truth was, tomorrow, would be the day stopped putting off something he'd been dreading more than anything...
Tomorrow, was the day, he would-
'Sang, are you okay?'
Snapped from his thoughts by the soft sound of Mingi's gentle voice, he realised he was staring at the tv screen even though the episode had finished, and as he blinked, a single tear slipped down his cheek.
Quickly reaching up and wiping it away, he smiled genuinely back at him, nodding. 'Mhm~.' Reaching out, he pressed the play button on the remote, letting the next episode begin.
But Mingi seemed to melt. Reaching across, he took his bowl of rice and popped it on the coffee table with his own, before shuffling closer and putting his arm around his shoulders. He let him rest in against his chest, hugging him tightly, and to Yeosang's sheer relief, asking no questions.
Hongjoong reached out and squeezed his shoulder, before ruffling his hair a little. 'You're not crying because you love Lucifer more than me, are you?' he teased.
Yeosang choked on a laugh, rolling his eyes. 'No I'm crying because this show is good, but cringe. It goes against my morals.'
Hongjoong snorted, leaning over and nudging him. His expression went very sober as he mouthed are you sure you're okay?
And Yeosang nodded, smiling sweetly, and bravely, before looking up at Mingi. 'Min has warm hugs. How could I be anything, but okay?'
Chuckling a little softly, Mingi reached out his spare hand and took his bowl of rice, giving it back to him, before letting them settle once more to watch the show.
And in the kind warmth of his embrace, Yeosang couldn't help but feel comforted. He hadn't known Mingi for anywhere near as long as his brother and Hongjoong, but somewhere along the way, he had come to find that he felt extremely supported in their friendship.
Mingi was incredibly kind, and after months of him visiting their home, helping Wooyoung with his physio and chatting as family and friends over dinner and wine, he hadn't really realised, just how close they'd become, until he was on the verge of tears, and for once, the person hugging him wasn't one of his brothers. It was a friend.
He glanced up at the brunette, catching his attention, and as their eyes softly met, Yeosang gave him a small smile. Thank you~, he mouthed silently.
And like the beautiful soul he was, Mingi smiled back nudging him gently before hugging him tighter.
Anytime~.
