Bright and early, Mingi held onto his student ID, his plastic sandwich bag of pencils and highlighters, and his unmarked water bottle for his biology exam. Alongside perhaps more than six hundred other students from various degrees taking the exam, he followed the instructions he'd been emailed to find room 6B-145. And being corralled inside, he took a seat at the desk with a number 145 printed on a laminated card on it.
Arranging his things, he felt quite nervous. He had studied so hard, and although he was confident that he'd pass, he was still apprehensive about what would be hiding behind the exam cover...
Movement across the room caught his attention, which was to say quite unsurprising, seeing as the deadly silent exam hall was alive with students walking around the separated desks looking for their table numbers, and taking their seats under exam conditions.
However what was surprising, was the fact that his eyes drew straight through the crowds to Yunho.
Spotting him in the crowd without even having meant to, he watched as the boy found his numbered table and sat down to arrange his things. He looked far calmer than the other students in the room, Mingi himself included...
But as Yunho looked up and glanced around the room, it was surprising how easily his eyes found him in the crowd.
Their gazes met, and Mingi instantly felt relaxed. His nerves were evaporated by his heart thawing under, and as Yunho's lips pulled into a small, encouraging smile, the distance between them felt like nothing... It was as though they were as close as they had been two nights ago in his bed, which was to say together...
Mingi smiled back before he let their eye contact separate. Risking being accused of 'communicating' with another student in the exam hall was not something he wanted for either of them.
But eye contact or no eye contact, the room felt like they were sitting side by side, and it was comforting.
You can do it, Min~ he told himself.
You will do fine~.
