Having emptied his university locker and put everything in his car, Yunho had been about to drive home when he happened to look up and see the orange-y blue sunset filling the sky.

It was a beautiful glow that shone down over the oval, and it made him suddenly pine for reliving the memories that field held.

And so locking his car, he shoved his keys and phone into his pocket and idly walked across the parking lot towards the sports grounds.

With the sun hastily going down and nobody else about, the fleeting rays of light cast a golden glow over everything it touched, and if he looked up, he could see tiny little white dots in the sky - stars, peeking out to shine for the night.

It filled his heart with a warmth - a comfort that made him feel whole. It was like suddenly, his heart was sensitive to a whole new world...

A world that Mingi had opened the door to. He had shown him the beauty in the small things... Things he'd never seen before, and things he could now not unsee.

Strolling sentimentally down the path onto the oval, images of him and Mingi at midnight, sitting on the frosty grass studying, flashed through his vision. He saw their smiles as they threw sweets at each other, laughing at the absurd sound of them plonking against their chests, and narrowly missing them, landing in the grass...

He also saw them playing soccer with a stray ball - Mingi talented as per usual, and Yunho feeling like a clutz, not even being able to kick in a straight line...

He saw them sitting on the grandstands eating take away meals with plastic cutlery...

And he saw them in the middle of the night - him on the verge of tears as he hugged Mingi close and begged time to stop - the night he had come to realise how much he missed him...

This place held so many memories - all the pivotal ones that he held dearest, and looking back in hindsight, he wished he had paid more attention as those memories were being made. He'd wished he hadn't been too embarrassed to look at Mingi just that moment longer, and he wished he hadn't been so narrow minded when he had taught him about the stars...

He hadn't known at the time that those would be memories he would cherish, but now, if he could have gone back, he felt like he would have done a thousand things differently...

Thinking about what he had learned that morning with Wooyoung... it seemed so obvious to him, how much he liked Mingi, right back to when he had first visited this oval with the boy. He didn't know why it had taken so long to understand...

He couldn't even remember what had him so scared...

Though perhaps that was just because he was surrounded by nostalgia seeping into his heart, that he suddenly felt carefree.

Either way, in that moment, he would have given just about anything to have Mingi by his side, holding his hand and walking around the oval together, spending his time with the one person who had opened his eyes to the world...

Ding.

Jolted from his daze, he pulled his phone from his back pocket, glancing at the notification.

Frowning, he blinked at his phone as though the words might warp into something different...
