Two Panadol, two iBuprofen, a steaming hot hangover soup and multiple splashes of cold water on his face later, in the morning sun at the table, San's head was killing him.

'Morning sunshine~.'

He groaned as Mingi's cheerful voice deliberately sung out from the kitchen.

It took him a few moments in his daze to realise that Mingi had just come from his room, and was making his morning coffee...

He looked at the bowl of soup in front of him, and then back at his roommate. 'Did you make this?'

Mingi glanced over at the table curiously before he shook his head. 'No? I only just woke up.'

San frowned. As much as he'd like to believe in magic... 'Then how in the hell...?'

He glanced over to where Mingi was pouring milk into his cup, waiting for the water to boil. 'It was probably Yunho.'

San blinked, not reacting until far too late. 'Yunho?'

'Mmm.'

He blinked again. 'Why would there be hangover soup here from Yunho?'

He watched as his roommate seemed to go incredibly shy under his gaze.

'Ya! Explain?'

Mingi nibbled on his lips, before he subtly lifted the neckline of his hoodie and pressed it to his nose... 'He stayed over...'

San could have choked, but thanks to his extreme headache, he opted to blink instead, staring at him. 'I'm sorry. He what?'

'Not like that. He was distressed, and we watched some god awful documentary series for uni and then we fell asleep. He left sometime this morning for placement.'

San couldn't believe how casual he was talking about it. 'Are we thinking about the same Yunho here? You mean that one you have feelings for, right?'

His cheeks flushed lightly as he glanced down, and as his water boiled, he poured it into his coffee and brought it over to sit beside him. 'Yes, we're talking about that Yunho.'

San swallowed back his surprise. 'Wow. Okay... So he platonically stayed over... Is he okay? What happened?'

Mingi took a deep inhalation of his coffee scent which had San's still-drowsy brain imagining he would just inhale his entire mug. 'He didn't say too much... But from what I can gather, he was given a job offer, I assume he told his parents, they didn't react very well and he - and I quote - "snapped at them."'

San rolled his eyes and immediately regretted it as it made his temples throb. 'God his parents are assholes. I really can't stand them.' He sighed. 'So he abused them? Fucking good. I hope he put them in his place. When Yunho goes off, he usually goes off.'

Honest to god, he hoped that his friend had finally stood up for himself, instead of letting them walk all over him.

But he knew that probably wouldn't be the case. He was too nice for that, and too far under the thumb.

'Do you remember much of last night?'

San bit into his lip, trying to think through the darkness in his memory... 'Mmm... Not really to be honest...' Very slowly, dots began to align. 'Fuck... Yunho was here... Shit, did I say something about what we've done...?'

Mingi laughed, shaking his head. 'No, don't worry. In fact, when I was trying to get you into your pyjamas, you scolded me. I believe the words were, no touchy touchy. You can't have me, I has a boyfriend.'

San died. 'Oh my god, shoot me.'

'Ha no way. I enjoyed it far too much.'

'Yeah but what about my pride.'

'Do you remember talking to Woo?'

San groaned. 'Vaguely. Not really. I woke up with my phone on my pillow and a four hour phone call in my history log with him. Did I really talk to him for that long?'

Mingi laughed, shaking his head. 'No, Yun and I heard you quiet down after about fifteen minutes.'

He didn't know whether to cringe, or to uwu under the realisation that they had slept with their call still running.

'I guess I should thank Yunho for the soup,' he finally said, tenderly rubbing his temples. 'Jesus christ, I can't believe I let myself get so fucked.'

'Don't be so hard on yourself. It was a special occasion. You only graduate once.'

'Haven't technically graduated yet.'

'Whatever. You get what I mean.'

San sighed, thinking back to his night. 'Did you know Jeonghan was gay?'

Sipping his coffee, Mingi shook his head. 'Who's that?'

'I don't really know him too well... He was one of the shyer guys in the group... I think he has a thing for Felix... Or maybe the other way around... Or something. God, I don't even know what I saw.'

He watched Mingi lean back in his chair, crossing his legs up on the cushion as he hugged his mug closely. 'Felix I absolutely get vibes from. That wouldn't surprise me.'

San stared at his friend, surprised. 'Really? Why did you never say anything?'

He shrugged. 'I don't know. Because you never asked? Why, would you have gone after him if I had?' he teased.

He rolled his eyes, instantly regretting it again as his head throbbed. 'Ah, fuck,' he groaned, holding his head. 'Yeah good point... Well I came out last night.'

Mingi raised an eyebrow. 'We're you drunk?'

'Nope. Stone cold sober. Turns out I like to talk about my boyfriend.'

Mingi laughed. 'Surprise surprise. Speaking of that boyfriend of yours. Are you going to his this morning before he comes over? Or what's the go?'

Nodding, he tenderly rubbed his temples. 'I'm bussing to his, kissing his Hyung's ass - figuratively - and thanking him for letting me have him for a while, and then we were going to go on a date. Not sure where. At this rate, I feel like we'll be visiting my grave site.'

Mingi snorted, choking on his coffee enough to make San reach forward and pat his back.

Coughing, Mingi waved him off. 'I'm okay, sorry,' he laughed, rubbing his throat. 'Sorry. Just wasn't expecting that.'

San shrugged. 'It's true though. My god, I wasn't even this hungover on my twenty first.'

Both of them froze for a moment and cringily glanced up at one another at the mention of that night...

'Well I don't know about you, but I'm revising for my bio exam tomorrow.'

'Library?'

'Bingo.'

A peaceful silence fell between them - one that felt incredibly comfortable. It wasn't often that living with friends worked, but San really enjoyed living with Mingi. It just worked.

No matter how wild things got, for some reason, their little sanctuary that they had made for themselves always felt safe, and like home.

'My god, I think I'm getting post hangover sentimentality.'

Mingi laughed, rolling his eyes. 'Maybe go on an alcohol strike for a while?'

San couldn't think of a better idea.

'Best plan you've ever had.'
