Wooyoung pounced on the door the the moment the doorbell rang.

'Sannie~!' His excited voice rang out before he even had the door open, but the moment the timber swung aside, Wooyoung threw himself into his boyfriend's arms.

And San laughed, hugging him tight enough that he could lift him off of the ground and walk him aside so they weren't in the doorway. 'Someone's excited,' he said, ruffling his hair.

Wooyoung gazed up to reply, but as he did, he spotted another person beside him. 'Min-ah!' he gasped, seeing the smiling boy standing with a kind expression on his face. Wooyoung reached forward and dragged Mingi inside out of the cold, shutting the door behind them. 'I didn't know you were coming~.'

Mingi smiled. 'San mentioned you guys were going to the hospital for your last check up. I thought I might lend some moral support,' he said softly, making Wooyoung's heart melt.

'That's why you're my favourite,' Wooyoung said, giving him a wink.

Just then, Yeosang walked into the room, carrying a folder. 'Oh look. You don't even need me,' he teased, waving hello.

'I do so!' Wooyoung countered, unable to help feeling relieved that Yeosang still hadn't redacted his kindness and was still being nice to him.

'Pfft. Not when the whole world has arrived to do my job for me. Look, you don't even need my medical brain now. Not with Mingi here.'

Wooyoung pouted, reaching his arms out for his brother, waiting impatiently for him to get his wallet, phone and ID before finally coming over and gently putting his arm around his waist, comforting him immediately. He gave Wooyoung a genuinely kind, supportive smile that melted away the vast majority of the anxiety that was building inside of Wooyoung, knowing he would soon be back inside those hospital walls once again.

'Where's Joong?' Yeosang asked, pecking Wooyoung on the head before grabbing the keys from the dish beside the door.

'He didn't come home last night,' Wooyoung said softly, smirking.

San and Mingi's eyes widened.

'Wait-' San said suddenly, taking a hold of his arm. 'Wasn't him and Hwa's date last night...?'

Wooyoung winked at him, before opening the front door and spanking San teasingly as he shooed them outside. 'You know it was,' he giggled.

'Oh my god I literally rang Hwa this morning and he ignored my call,' Mingi said in disbelief as he helped Wooyoung descend the stairs.

'He was busy, clearly,' Yeosang said, locking up. 'These things take time,' he said amusedly, before following them down the stairs.

But as Wooyoung descended the stairs, one at a time, his chest began to tighten just a tiny bit at a time. If he could have run away and never gotten in that car, he would.

And then he felt San's hand move around his waist, his thumb brushing comfortingly at his side. He didn't say anything. Just smiled as they made it to the bottom of the stairs.

'Min, are you working a shift today?' Yeosang asked as they made their way to the car.

'Nope,' Mingi replied.

'Well I vote we get ice cream after this,' Yeosang said, trying to keep the mood light.

And it meant the world to Wooyoung. 'Hyung-ah,' he murmured as they stood beside the car. He reached out to grab the corner of his shirt to stop him from disappearing around the other side to get into the drivers seat.

Yeosang turned, glancing down at Wooyoung's grip on his shirt before looking up to his face. His expression melted immediately, and upon putting everything in his hands on the roof of the car, he walked over and hugged Wooyoung.

'Don't cry baby,' he whispered. 'Nothing bad is going to happen.'

Wooyoung nodded against him. 'I know...'

'We'll be super quick. We aren't even going anywhere near ED. We're just going to the suites.'

That made Wooyoung's heart pick up, a spark of relief igniting within him. 'Really? We won't be going near that place...?' He asked hopefully, and Yeosang cooed in his ear.

'Naw hun, did you think we were going to the emergency ward? Wooyoung hun, we're just going to his office, right near where Hongjoong's office is, and then we're leaving.'

It made sense, but Wooyoung had been so fixated all morning on the thought of going to the hospital for his check up that it hadn't even occurred to him that they might be going to a different place.

'Come on, in the car. I can feel San and Mingi's eyes on us like hawks. The sooner we get there, the sooner we can be out.'

And with that, Yeosang opened the passenger's seat door and helped him in, before getting his things from the roof of the car and walking around to get in himself.

And sitting in the car, Wooyoung took a deep breath. It will be fine, he told himself. It'll be quick.

And so he was as ready as he would ever be. 'Okay, let's go.'
