Sitting on the couch in his dorm, San was only half paying attention as he tried to put together lesson plans for work. He'd been home a few hours now, and he still hadn't heard from Wooyoung about how his brother was... Not that he'd expected him to be texting while his brother was in a mess...
But somewhere along the line, he had come to really worry about Wooyoung's family like his own. And god knew that if the tables were reversed, and he was the one going through the breakup...
Well to say he wouldn't have been doing very well... That was the understatement of the century...
Knock... knock....
San glanced up at the door, frowning. Mingi was in his room, and he had no idea who else it would be...
'Coming,' he called, putting down his lesson notebook and crossing the room.
Opening the door though, his lips fell apart in shock.
'Yun-ah...' he breathed.
He looked wrecked.
Never before had he seen Yunho in such a state. He had what looked like a light bruise on his cheek, the dressing over his neck looked thicker than the thinner ones he'd been using of late. His cheeks were blotchy, and his eyes were bloodshot... Just the way he carried himself...
'Is Min home...?' he whispered, and his voice was so incredibly hoarse...
San quickly nodded, reaching out and taking him by the coat. 'Come inside, come come,' he ushered, getting the poor thing out of the cold. 'Min-ah!' he called over his shoulder. 'You have a visitor...'
San rubbed his friend's shoulder, staring at him with intense worry. He'd only seen him once before in such a state...
And not unlike now, that time, he had gone to Mingi, as well...
-
Hearing San call his name, Mingi frowned. Shutting his laptop lid, he shoved it atop his book stack and climbed out of bed, slipping on his slippers and venturing out of his room.
But surfacing from the corridor... The scene that met him was enough to make his heart suddenly fall.
'Yun-ah...' he breathed.
He was a mess. He looked bruised, and the moment their eyes met, tears welled up in the boy's eyes as his lips quivered.
'M-M-Min-ah...' he choked.
He ached for him.
Hurrying across the room, he walked straight up to the teary boy and held his arms out, ushering him into his embrace. Yunho leant forward, burying his tearily wet face into the nook of his neck and holding onto the bottom of his shirt fabric gently.
'Oh sweetie, it's okay, shhh,' he cooed, wrapping his arms around him and putting a hand on the back of his head to bury his fingers in his hair.
'I can't do it,' Yunho choked against him; his words bringing on another wave of tears. 'I can't- I can't- I can't... I...'
Mingi pulled him tighter against him, pressing his cheek into the top of his head. 'Shhh it's okay. Just breathe for now, okay?' But as the boy hiccuped, working himself into a state, Mingi curled his fingers in his hair and pulled his head out from the nook of his neck. He then took his cheeks in his hands and stared into his eyes. 'Breathe, Yun. With me, hmm? In... Out... In... Out...'
