As San held the door open for him and he stepped foot into the pole studio, Wooyoung felt that old familiar rush course through his veins. With it being the middle of the day on a weekday, he and San were evidently the only ones there, and the low level lighting in the mirrored studio was something Wooyoung had missed.

'Feels weird to see poles everywhere,' San breathed wandering inside.

Wooyoung put down his bag and took his shoes off, leaving one of his socks on, and removing the other. Rolling up his jeans on one side, he sat back, watching fondly as San poked one of the poles, watching as it twisted.

'Woa,' the brunette breathed, staring at it with awe, before turning to lock eyes with him. 'Woo, it moves.'

Giggling, he straddled his legs out in front of him and gently started to stretch, careful not to hurt himself. 'Yes, Sannie. They move. How did you think the dancers spin around?'

He pouted. 'I always thought the person just spun. Grippy hands or something.'

Wooyoung laughed, rolling his eyes. 'You're too cute.'

'Wow they're so high.'

'They're higher at the club. The ones on the main stage are about three times as tall as these.'

San's eyes widened. 'But this is like, probably about three meters tall?!'

Wooyoung's lips pulled into a smile, nodding. 'They can be pretty high.'

'Did you ever use the ridiculously tall ones?'

The adrenaline-filled memories were ingrained in his mind. 'When I got good enough, yes.'

San froze. 'You're joking?'

'Nope~. I had to practice first with mats underneath though, and prepare my routines before the night. You're not allowed to ad lib those poles - not that I'd want to ad lib those, anyway.'

Stretching once more for good measure, leaning all the way forward until his piercing clinked on the floor, Wooyoung felt that familiar tug of his muscles that hurt but felt good. He'd missed that burn.

Standing up, he weaved his way through the poles, making his way over to near where San was. And as his fingertips touched the cold, smooth steel again after months, he felt a fond feeling wash through him, as he realised just how much he'd loved that feeling.

He smirked as he saw San deliberately rotating the pole before him, watching in fascination as it turned in perfect circles. He was looking between the floor and the ceiling with immense interest and surprise as though it were the most incredible thing he'd seen since the invention of the wheel.

'Does it run out of times it can turn in one direction? Should I not be moving this?' he asked, sounding intensely serious.

Wooyoung giggled. 'No, sannie. That's not how the mechanism works. You can spin it as many times as you like. It won't run out.' He smiled to himself as he watched him.

Gently slipping one hand low on the pole, and his other slightly higher, he kicked lightly off the ground, pointing his toes and slowly and with a satisfying amount of control, butterflied his outstretched legs until they created a perfect circle, delicately resting back down on the ground once more. The familiar tug on his abdomen from using his muscles was beautiful to feel once more, although he could notice obviously that he was far weaker than he'd once been, after so long in hospital, and not walking around...
