Being almost time to start walking from the library across campus to the recital hall, Mingi packed up his study things, filled his arms with his books and began to make his way towards the exit.

But as he was approaching another study table, amongst the hoards of students all studying madly for exams, he recognised a specific head of hair leant down over a textbook with a pen in their hand...

Yunho

Smiling softly, he walked up to him and reached out, pressing his palm against his back and rubbing gently to get his attention.

Looking up, Yunho's expression went from startled, to confused, to relaxed, within the span of a second, if that.

'Min,' he breathed, taking out his AirPods and giving him his whole attention.

As Mingi unconsciously slipped his hand down his back a little, leaning forward to see what he was studying, Yunho didn't flinch in the slightest, potentially even leaning closer...

'Biology revision?' Mingi asked, recognising the diagram of the kidneys.

Yunho nodded. 'Were you studying as well?' he asked.

'Mmm. I was hiding down the end.'

Pulling out the chair beside him, Mingi sat down and put his stack of textbooks on the table beside him. 'Your notes are so neat,' he breathed, gazing at his book.

Yunho seemed to become a little self conscious, shaking his head. 'They're all messy... I haven't really been putting in much effort...'

Mingi rolled his eyes. 'Oh please. You have seen my books.'

Closing his notebook, Yunho marked his page in his textbook before closing that too. 'Are you heading over to the hall now?'

'Mmm~. I'm going to stop by my locker though.' He glared at the stack of textbooks beside him. 'I don't really want to lug these around...'

'Oh. I see...' Biting his lips a little, Yunho put his books in his bag before they both stood. 'I can carry them for you to your locker if you like.'

Mingi felt himself blush. 'Oh no, it's fine...'

'It's really okay... I can help...'

He felt his heart fluttering as he tried to turn him down. But just as he went to pick up his stuff, Yunho suddenly looked up and squinted at something behind him. 'What's that over there?'

Frowning, he turned around... He didn't know what he was looking for, but to have elicited a reaction like that, he thought he should have been able to find it instantly...

But before he even got to look, he noticed movement beside him, and when he turned back, Yunho had snatched up his armful of textbooks and was wearing a particularly smug expression upon his face.

Mingi's eyes widened and his jaw dropped. 'Ya!' he whisper shouted, trying to take them from him.

But Yunho just swivelled his body, refusing.

And it left him in a fit of giggles.

'Ya, Min-ah, you're going to get us in trouble,' Yunho scolded, smirking.

And indeed, he was right, people were giving them annoyed glances as they scrabbled.

Mingi pouted. 'That's not fair,' he whispered as he gave in, following Yunho out of the library. .

'That was very fair. It's not my fault you got distracted.'

Spilling out into the open outdoors, Mingi laughed out loud. 'You're quite cheeky today.'

He shrugged like it didn't bother him in the slightest.

Walking side by side with the sun shining warmly upon them, Mingi couldn't help the smile upon his lips from showing. Their shoulders brushed in a way that felt both natural, yet butterfly inducing, and with smiles upon their faces, he was filled with a warmth he couldn't seem to shake.

'Are you really not going to let me carry my books?' he asked, trying to take them from him and lighten his burden.

But Yunho twisted, pulling them away. 'No, I'm really not going to let you.'

'But maybe I wanted to carry something...' he pouted, sounding exceptionally playful in his tone of voice.

Yunho surprised him as he dug into his pocket and pulled out his mobile. 'Here. You can carry my phone then.'

Mingi laughed... Even more when Yunho shook it before him, urging him to take it.

'What? You said you wanted to carry something.'

Laughing, he took the phone, not really knowing what else he was supposed to do. 'I didn't mean this.'

'Well you should have specified. It's too late now.' Nudging him with his shoulder, as Yunho glanced across at him, he melted under his incredibly warm smile... Not awkward in the slightest.

It made him blush.

But just as he felt himself turning to a giggly mess, Yunho's phone started buzzing in his hands.

Mingi looked up to see Yunho frowning down as he showed him. But as Yunho nodded, Mingi answered.

'Ya Ma! You've got nerve acting like-'

Hearing abuse pouring through the line, Mingi hung up, looking up at Yunho. 'What the hell was that?' he asked, feeling his heart thudding in his chest for a moment in shock.

Yunho just shrugged, seeming very confused. 'No idea. Probably a wrong number.' A few steps later, he laughed. 'Good thing you were carrying my phone then,' he said lightly, laughing to himself.

And Mingi rolled his eyes. 'Whatever you say, Yun.'
