It was late at night, and sitting in the Kang and Kim family household living room, San glanced up as Yeosang suddenly ran out from the hallway into the kitchen, grabbing something from a drawer and then tearing back down towards his room. Ever since he'd been called in to work not ten minutes ago, he'd been running around like a mad hatter, trying to get ready.
'Uh, Hyung, are you right? Do you need me to do something?'
Yeosang suddenly ran back into the living room, shuffling around looking for something. 'Nope I should be- found it! No don't worry all good. Hongjoong will be here in a secon- shit where's my ID why the fuck isn't it in the bowl- never mind I'm blind-' And with that, he took off back down the hallway leaving him alone once again.
Two moments later, the sound of keys in the door sounded, preceding it swinging open to reveal Hongjoong, rugged up against the cold.
And just in that moment, Yeosang came screaming down the hall with one arm through his coat sleeve, one shoe on, and hopping as he pulled on his other.
'Thank god you're here,' he gasped, hurrying up to him at the door and picking up his bag on the ground, pulling it over his shoulders. 'Tag team, car keys please,' he said at the speed of light, letting his Hyung drop them into his hand. He pulled a scarf off of the table and wrapped it around his neck, dillying off a list of things to do to him as he put his other arm through his coat sleeve.
'Dinner's in the oven, washing machine's fifteen minutes off finishing, the hot water booster needs to be turned off before you go to bed, Wooyoung's in the shower and needs painkillers when he gets out, San's doing his head in over there, I still can't find that fucking spatula and my phone is as flat as a pancake so if you need to ring me call the ward.'
Yeosang took a massive breath. 'Is that all?' he asked, looking around and checking his pockets. He was already half out the door as he continued talking. 'I think so. Good, I won't be back in time to take Woo to work tomorrow morning, there's a fuel voucher on the table in case you need it, I've got to go, thankyouthankyouthankyou- oh hi Seonghwa - bye Seonghwa. Don't forget to call the ward if you need me!'
And with that, he disappeared out of sight, leaving San to watch in surprise as Seonghwa suddenly followed Hongjoong inside, letting the door click shut behind them.
'Hwa,' San said, frowning. 'Aren't you supposed to be on shift?'
His friend gave him a sheepish look as Hongjoong suddenly smirked, rolling his eyes at the taller as he walked inside, taking off his shoes and coat.
'Uh, yeahhhh... about that...'
San glanced at Hongjoong who laughed, spanking him before heading towards the kitchen. 'You got busted Hwa,' he said, laughing. 'Babe I told you to tell them.'
Taking his shoes off, Seonghwa cringed. 'I know... Sorry, San... I might be sick at the moment...'
'Wow, well you don't look very sick to me,' San laughed, rolling his eyes as he watched him track across the floorboards in his socks towards him. Sighing, San scooted over on the couch to make room for him. 'I didn't think you'd replace Min and I so quickly.'
'Oh please. You say that like you somehow expected me to replace you two.' Sitting down beside him, he glanced over at his phone screen, adjusting his glasses on his nose. 'What's this? Tax?'
San nodded, groaning gutturally. 'I don't know why every year has to be as painful as the last.'
Hwa nodded feebly. 'I'm still putting mine off for exactly that reason. I don't think I even know where all my receipts are.'
