Hongjoong laid back on his bed, switching his phone to his other ear as his arm started to go to sleep. 'He's okay though, right? Jesus, what's that, like, the sixth student to go down in the past three months?'

He heard Seonghwa groan through the phone. 'Eight, I think. That I know of.' He sighed heavily, and a scuffling sound came through the phone, probably him running his fingers through his hair.

'I think he's okay. I ran straight down to Emergency when I heard. I glanced over the report and he's not concussed, thank god. But he's iron deficient and when he fainted, he hit his head on a dressing trolley and knocked himself unconscious, gifting himself a really good laceration to the head.' He groaned, clearly distressed.

'Holy shit. Are you sure he's okay? Did he have to get it sutured?'

'When I got there, Yunho had apparently taken it upon himself to do it.'

'Yunho? I thought they weren't talking?'

'Well so did I, since that was the last update I got. But you should have seen how fast Yunho dropped his lunch and sprinted to the ER when some doctor told him. I've not seen Usain Bolt run that fast. When I got down to Emergency, Yunho looked absolutely sick. He was only cleaning his cut, but jesus, anyone would think he was performing neurosurgery he was being that cautious.'

Hongjoong laughed at his analogy, a strange image popping into his mind of Mingi laying in a bed, and Yunho in full theatre gowns with an overhead light shining down as he went in with a cotton ball and gauze.

'Jesus. Oh well, so he did care after all. Told you, Mingi coming out just spooked him. I bet you one weeks pay slip that Yunho pulls his shit together and ends up sticking to him like glue.'

He heard Seonghwa exhale in amusement. 'I'm not betting against you. Especially since I went looking for Min after shift and found him and Yunho asleep in that west wing oncall next to that empty ward.'

Hongjoong snorted, laughing. 'Told you! I know you're salty at Yunho, but I'm sorry, I hate to break it to you, but I think there's more to it than meets the eye.'

'Hmm? What do you mean?'

Hongjoong shrugged, rolling onto his back and switching ears again. 'Well look how quickly he went back to talking to San. Woo said that San reckons he's almost perfectly okay with him now. Few days to readjust his internal image of him and it seems he was set.'

There was a pause before Seonghwa spoke. 'I'm so out of the loop. Jesus, I need to stop working so much.'

Hongjoong laughed. 'It's fine. I only know because San basically lives here.'

A groan floated through the line before he got his reply. 'So I take it there's a reason you brought San up.'

'Yeah well look at the timeline. That was a while ago now. He's fine with San, but he's still avoiding Mingi, or whatever the hell is going on. I've got a tub of ice cream in the freezer that says that Yunho avoided Mingi far longer than San, not just because he knew about his feelings.'

'So what are you saying? That Yunho secretly likes him?'

Hongjoong laughed at the sound of his skeptical voice. 'I'm not really saying anything.'

Yawning, he rolled onto his stomach, propped up on his elbows. 'I'm merely pointing out that it's weird he had so much more trouble coming to terms with Mingi being gay, than San. Maybe it is because he likes him. I dunno, but don't you think if there wasn't anything deep rooted going on, that he'd prefer to just ignore it altogether?'
