Scarlett looked at them with a blank expression instead of making fun of their name. It would of sounded desperate and childish as if she was jealous or tried to act like she wasn't scared."So what exactly does this gang do?" Scarlett asked wanting to know what she is getting herself into.
"Well not much. Just moves some drugs and chills, not much." Roxy said.
"Rox," Bellatrix started, "they are know for some murders."
Scarlett had a hard time keeping her face from changing expression. "Murders? They have been caught before?"
"Trix your being way too dramatic." Roxy interrupted. "The only ones that murder are the lower class Velvets and they usually get caught by the high class Velvets, they find out and they are either killed or exiled."Roxy rolled her eyes. "They don't follow their rules. Black Velvet have rules. They are not allow to spill innocent blood."
"So they do murder, just not innocent people?" Scarlett asked wanting to confirm. This is probably the only chance I will ever get again. "Does this gang have anything to do with the rules of the town?"
"Um...sort of." Bellatrix nodded slowly.
"Their are classes Scar." Roxy said.
"There is the upper class, middle class, and lower class." Trix got up from the lunch table standing in front of them now as is she was ready to teach her students.
"Rich class rules the town they have the last names and get to do whatever they want and get to do anything to whomever they want. Which means anyone below the rich class ain't shit." Bellatrix explained. "Middle class is always trying to be with the rich class some make it some don't. And the poor class, that live on the wrong side of the tracks...they are practically the rich class's entertainment, when they aren't going to galas or trashing their vacation houses, that is." Trix stopped.
"Why did you guys say that I need to know the rules then?" Scarlett asked confused because they seemed very straight forward.
"Because you are new." Roxy said. "When you are new to Crescent Valley you don't have a spot where you fit. You are a nobody. You don't have a last name or a daddy with money." Scarlett's heart stopped when she said the word 'Daddy'.
"It must be nice to have one." Scarlett mumbled talking about the Dad part and not the money aspect of it, but they didn't need to know that.
"I've been to one." Roxy looked away.
"What?!" Bellatrix sat down right in front of Roxy. "You've been to one of their houses?!"
"I got paired with one of the cheerleaders for a project my...sophomore year and she wanted to do it at her house so..yeah." Roxy said starting to tear the leaf she was once playing with.
"What was it like?" Trix asked.
"Why would you want to know?" Roxy looked at her in confusion and a hint of disgust.
Bellatrix sighed and leaned back, "well just because we hate them it doesn't mean we can't want what they have."
Roxy rolled her eyes and started, "it was mostly white, lost of marble and a glass staircase. Her room was about the size of the cafeteria and her closet was about the size of one of the classrooms." Roxy said.
"Did she have maids?" Trix awed.
"Of course." Roxy laughed.
The lunch bell rang signaling the end of break and time for 5th period. "Let's go." Scarlett sighed.
I can't wait for this whole day to be over.
This is getting worse by the minute.

"You don't want us to wait? Or come with you?" Roxy asked.
"Come on Rox." Bellatrix grabbed her arm and tugged her away from me. "See you tomorrow Scar."
"See ya." Scarlett stood in front of the school watching them walk away. Scarlett turned on her heel ready to walk towards the bleachers to start on her AP chemistry packet with Rock Chase. All she had to do was get through the chemistry homework. Chemistry is Scarlett's favorite subject...only because she thrives in it.
Scarlett arrived at the bleachers and saw the football field. The football team were on the field running through their scrimmages as the cheerleaders worked on their stunts. She watched a small red head being raised up as she went into a scorpion pose then someone lost grip and she fell onto the mat with a hard thud. Scarlett winced as she knew from experienced that hurt everyone.
Scarlett scanned the bleachers that seemed to go for miles and never spotted him. Of course he fucking bailed. She made it to the end and spotted a short kid with acne all over his face smoking a joint. He glanced at her then squinted his eyes at Scarlett probably wondering if she would be a snitch or not. All Scarlett did was roll her eyes. As she turned the corner she saw more kids hanging out under the bleachers probably all as high as a kite. She walked past them realizing Scarlett shouldn't have been looking on the bleachers for Rock, she should have been looking under the bleachers. There was a few other groups of friends she passed until she spotted Rock at the very end leaning against the concrete wall that held the cheap bleachers up. He had one leg bent and the other resting on the ground. The one bent was holding up a notebook as Rock looked at it with a pondering expression. Scarlett came closer and examined his features. He had a handsome grudge look to him. He was handsome in the pretty boy type which made his demeanor seem out of place. He had dark brown eyes and brown hair that was messy but in a way that looked good. His lips were a pale pink and his cheeks had a slight permanent blush. His lips curved into a smirk as he stared at his notebook.
"Staring is creepy baby girl."
"I wasn't staring I was waiting." Scarlett replied simply.
"For what?"
"For you to finish writing in your diary asshat."
"Hmm." Is all he said then finally looked up at her. Scarlett took that as her invitation to sit down. Scarlett put her chemistry book and her notebook down next to Rock to keep some space between them. Being lab partners with Rock is as close to him as she wants to be.
"What have you gotten done so far?" Scarlett asked.
"Just the first two pages." He said nonchalantly and glanced at her.
"Okay." Is all she replied with as he signed her name at the top.
"Buzzby..." Rock said quietly. "What's your first name?"
"How do you know my last name?" Scarlett said almost disgusted.
"Clark addressed you by your last name on the first day of school." Rock said glancing at Scarlett. Scarlett felt an itch of curiosity wondering why he remember her name.
"Scarlett."
"Scarlett." The way he said Scarlett's name was weird almost as if it didn't belong on his lips or that he didn't think he is worthy enough to say it. Scarlett watched Rock write her name on the paper next to his.
"Two T's" Scarlett said as he wrote the E.
"I know." He finished writing then stared at her. She tore her eyes away right before she noticed his brown eyes turned hazel.
The next hour went by with them working quietly, exchanging answers checking each other's work to make sure neither of them made a mistake.
Rock was smart. Scarlett didn't expect it, but she also didn't think it was so out of bounds. It's not like during there banters he never gets stumped. Actually he has been the one who gets the last word in.
Once the last answer was chosen Rock scribbled it down and started to gather his things. It sounded like football and cheer practice had ended and most of the stoners had left as well. It was like we were the last ones at the school.
"See you tomorrow." He said starting to walk away.
"Tomorrow?" Scarlett stands up next to him.
"Yeah. For the next packet. Mr. C gives them out everyday."
"You gotta be shitting me."
