What just happened?
"So Trix did you finish your project?" I asked trying to move past the silence that somehow was created by our small embrace.
"I got some small touch-ups and finishing products to add, but mostly yeah." She took a drink of her beer after answering.
"Art project?" Frostee asked looking at Bellatrix. I turned to her to let her explain. Before she spoke I felt a hand lightly touch the small of my back and my eyes widened for a second, but I quickly relaxed them hoping nobody noticed.
"I have an art show next Saturday." I licked my lips quickly and rubbed them together. "Scarlett has been waiting to figure out what my specialty is." Trix explained, but it was mostly white noise as I tried to not think about Frostee's hand on my back. Nobody can see that he is touching me, which is what makes it...tantalizing.
"It's a secret." Roxy added.
"Oh, so we have a Leonardo da Vinci here." Frostee joked and Trix smiled nervously.
"Not even close. But hopefully one day." Trix shrugged.
"I haven't missed any of your runs did I?" I asked as the subject died also turning making his hand fall off my back so I could focus better.
"Nope not yet, but I'm coming up very soon."
"Great, can't wait." I smiled sweetly. Frostee stared at me and I watched his eyes dart to my mouth, but they came right back up to my blue globes.
"Frostee you ready?" An unfamiliar guy about a yard away called after him we looked back towards him.
"I guess right now." He turned to me. "Be there in a minute." He yelled back at the man. The guy nodded and walked off towards the track. I put one hand in my back pocket leaning back. "Make sure to watch me Red." He told me.
"Of course, I will Blue." I flutter my lashes flirtatiously. Before he stepped away bright lights flickered brightly towards us making our attention turn the other way.
"Rock's here." Frostee said his tone full of frustration. Simultaneously, the driver and the passenger got out. It was like two Greek gods entered the area. Rock, god of trouble...
"And Calvin."...The god of Harvard?
I looked back at Frostee as his eyes narrowed at the sight of him. I remembered our conversation yesterday when he told me he doesn't like the idea of me being around Rock every day.
"Hey," I waited to continue until he looked at me, "It's okay." His eyes softened into mine. "Go. I'll be with Roxy and Trix." I tried to reassure him.
"Okay." He glanced over my shoulder. I could practically feel the heat of Rock's body already getting closer. Before I had the chance to walk away Frostee grabbed my forearm, pulled me closer to him, and kissed my cheek. He walked away not even waiting to see or hear my reaction to him kissing my cheek.
Jealousy. One of the worst human emotions.
I didn't mind it, but I didn't like that he kissed me just because Rock was here now. I didn't like everyone's reaction to our hug. I can't imagine what is going through everyone's head now that he kissed me. At least it wasn't the lips...as if that matters at this point.
I watched Frostee get in his car and drive it to the starting line. He was doing the backtracks this time and not the regular drag strip. I turned to stand closer to Roxy and Trix but stopped when I saw Mr. Harvard staring daggers at a certain someone.
Fuck. Collateral damage.
I licked my lips fiercely then checked to see if Roxy noticed. Right as I checked she saw him. Her body tensed and she immediately looked at me with 'help' written all over her face.
