"Something's bothering you, princess. What is it?" Rock urged me to share my thoughts.

I can't talk to him about Frostee...Can I?

"Well..." I paused, "It's Frostee." Rock stiffened. I shouldn't continue. His face says to continue even though his body language says the complete opposite. "I said I'd make time for him this week, but my schedule is pretty full." I explained.

"Make time for him?" Rock asked his dark brows stitched together.

"Yeah." I broke eye contact and swallowed thickly. Do I have to spell it out?

"Wait." Rock blinked rapidly. Then let out a ragged breath. "You guys are together." He stated and I think I just saw him roll his eyes. I nodded awkwardly. He didn't speak again and just headed for the door. The door closed behind him and I was left in the classroom.

Did I just piss him off?

I followed him out into the hall where he made it halfway to the stairwell. The halls were empty leaving us alone in the void.

"Why'd you leave?" I almost had to shout after him. He stopped but didn't turn around. I listened to the long silence before he spoke.

"You know," Rock started but didn't move, "I thought José had gone crazy when he said you were sleeping with Frostee." Rock looked back at me. "But Jefe's never wrong."

***

I wanted to stop Rock, but he left too quickly and I couldn't stop him. I was too stunned by his words and reaction. The fact that he remembered what Jefe said about Frostee and me.

'You should have waited before you started fucking someone who isn't a Velvet.'

For the record, Frostee and I are not sleeping with each other. Yes, we fell asleep in the same bed but I fell asleep in the same bed with Rock too and nothing happened with either of them. I wanted to yell after Rock and say 'So what if I am sleeping with him?' What would he say to that? Is he protective over his younger cousin and thinks I'm deflowering him? Or the one I don't want to believe to be true...He is jealous. Nothing he has done would ever make that true. He was practically pushing me to be with Frostee and now I'm supposed to think he is jealous. Rock isn't that reckless. He is third in command for José Luña and Jefe would never let someone that imprudent be his left-hand man.

I opened the door to the same classroom at lunch, but now it was three o'clock. Rock leaned next to the whiteboard staring at his phone. He looked up and we locked eyes. He quickly tore his eyes away from me and I could feel the annoyance radiating off of him.

"Look not that it's any of your business, but I'm not sleeping with-"

"You're right it's not my business." Rock interrupted me. He stared at me with such intensity I took a step back. "Your relationship with Frostee...It's none of my business and..." He spoke slowly and paused to find the right words. "I shouldn't let it affect our friendship."

"I agree." I had nothing else to say on the subject and I didn't want to. Rock opened his book and pulled out a chair to sit in.

"Just..." Rock stopped, "don't talk to me about him."

"Done." I didn't want to talk to him about Frostee in the first place and I definitely won't mention him in front of Rock from this point forward.

He stared into my icy eyes as I stared into his golden globes and we smiled...again.

The packet was quite easy and I didn't expect almost to finish before the tutee's arrived.
