I couldn't quite decipher the reason why Rock had to speak to me. Why he said the things he did. All he could've said was, I don't want Flora near Black Velvet, but he was descriptive. Another thing that doesn't make sense is, if Rock doesn't want Flora to be anywhere close to Black Velvet, shouldn't he be trying to leave too. Along with Frostee. I was sitting on the couch in our newly furnished living room after Trix and Roxy left, trying to distract myself with the sales channel. They were either talking about some type of carpet cleaner or a vacuum, I wasn't paying attention as much as I should have been. My phone was still open to Frostee's contact and I stared at it knowing I should just get this over with. Right before my finger pressed the call button Blair entered the room.

"How was your day?" She asked me and I looked at her blankly. I didn't want to speak with her, my guilt from speaking rudely to her earlier today didn't quite surpass what happened with Mr. Chase.

"Fine." I usually would ask her the same in return, but not tonight.

"I saw you went to Flora's tonight with your friends." Blair still stood and I turned the volume down a bit knowing that this is being dragged out and she isn't going down without a fight.

"Mom, what do you want? You have been acting weird all day." I wanted to get this over with. She stood up straighter and wrapped her robe around herself a bit tighter.

"I wanted to tell you this morning, but you were a bit busy and I didn't quite have the courage then." She pressed her lips together. "I got a job." I quickly looked up at her surprised at how quickly our financial crisis ended.

"Really? That's great!" I exclaimed. However, she grabbed her ear and started to tug on it, a habit she had as long as I could remember. "What is it?"

"The job I got is as an office manager for Mr. Brandon Chase." I stared at her then blinked my gaze to my legs. You have got to be fucking kidding me.

"That's great mom." I smiled. Looks like I can't even relax at home either. My whole world is a floor covered in egg shells.

"O-oh...well thank you Scarlett." She was surprised and so was I. I rather pretend as if I am okay with all this than her acting strangely around me every time the conversation involves Brandon. "I start Monday, my hours are nine to five although he mentioned that I will most likely be doing a lot of overtime, he said that is why his current office manager quit. He couldn't keep up with the extra work." I nodded smiling still.

"I know you will be able to keep up." I assured her even though I had a feeling extra work wasn't the overtime assignment.

"Thank you honey." She smiled and I struggled to fight the lump forming in my throat. "Goodnight."

"Goodnight mom."

I texted Frostee last night to meet up for coffee this morning around ten so we could talk. I had given myself a facial ice bath this morning because my eyes were still puffy from all the crying in the shower last night. I headed to Ebony for my regular workout and quickly returned home to get ready. I added basic make up, but a bit more concealer under my eyes and a darker mascara. I wore a dark blue cable knitted sweater and black leather pants. Even though I was not in a position to see Frostee after the A bomb my mom dropped on me last night, I have made Frostee wait long enough and I was sick of Asshat asking me if I've talked to him yet.

Entering the café, I went straight to the counter and ordered an americano. Even though I can barely get black coffee down, I needed something a bit stronger this morning. The barista handed me my coffee and I spotted Frostee in the corner and noticed his leg bouncing up and down. His back was facing me which gave me a moment to make up my mood. I sipped my scorching hot coffee then made my way to the table. I stopped at the front so he would see me before I took my seat across from him. I prepared myself to smile and have a happy conversation, then I was met with something unpredictable, but not shocking. Frostee had a hot coffee sitting in front of him and his black hair was styled as always, however he had a red scar across the side of his forehead. A purple pigmentation under both his green eyes and another red scrap on his jawline.
