By the end of chemistry class Mr. Clark finally handed out the packets giving us zero time to work on them which meant I had to spend more time with Rock. As much as I want to keep my distance from Rock I can't help, but be curious about Black Velvet. I mean an actual gang the danger and excitement that is attached to it...it's...seductive. And knowing Rock is in that gang makes him seductive as well. However, I have no reason to like him. He has a girlfriend. Which is fine. I can look. I just can't touch. And Rock well...he is a looker.

"What is this dinner that your mom is making you go to?" Trix asked as she took a gulp of her coke. We were sitting at our usual picnic table shaded by a big oak tree. The breeze was chilling and I knew we needed to find a new spot inside the warm walls of the school before the weather got too unbearable. Trix was sitting opposite of me and Roxy sat on the edge of the table letting her legs dangle as she swung them back and forth.

"It's with our neighbor across the street." I groaned.

"Oh that guy." Trix nodded with understanding.

"You mean the one that flirted with your mom." Roxy asked for confirmation.

"Yeah...that one." I sighed a little too emotionally. Bellatrix and Roxy stole glances and I needed to change the subject before they started to ask the question.

"Scarlett is your dad-"

Nope nope nope.

"It's semi-formal. What kind of person has a semi-formal dinner party?" I cut Bellatrix off. They didn't say anything for a minute, but I wasn't going to let them ask about my dad.

"Well..." Roxy started, "I hope this doesn't sound...rude, but you do live in kind of a rich area Scar." Roxy said hesitantly.

"I do?" I really didn't know. I guess I have always lived comfortably then because it seemed normal to me.

"Uh yeah." Bellatrix laughed slightly. "I thought a butler was going to greet us." Bellatrix looked at me with a huge smile.

"Oh shut up." I rolled my eyes. I guess I should be more grateful for my life. Hopefully I will be able to keep on living this supposedly lavish lifestyle now that my mother doesn't have a job.

"Does this guy have any kids?" Trix asked.

"Not sure." I thought for a moment. Before anymore questions could be asked the bell went off. We all groaned. I swung my legs out from under the table and stood. Roxy hopped off the table and we all conjoined in step.

"Wait since your going to dinner you can't come to the tracks tonight." Trix stated putting two and two together.

"Yeah." I said shortly annoyed with that statement of fact.

"Damn I wanted you to come." Trix kicked the floor.

"At least you won't have to wash my car this week." I grinned humorously.

"Ha. Ha." Trix pushed my shoulder and I laughed smiling wide.

I walked out the front doors of the school biding my farewells to Roxy and Trix like I did each day before studying with Rock.

"You are going to give us the update on Enrique right?" I asked Roxy.

"Yeah, I'll let you guys know." She nodded. I half smiled. I pitted her a bit, but only because I cared for her. Roxy seemed soft to the core. She had a soft look to her, but her attitude was hard. You don't mess with her you can just tell by the way she talks. However, I know deep down she gets hurt easily and it hits her hard.
