I decided to call Frostee before my mom would get home around three and it was currently 2:50.

"Hey..." Frostee answered.

"Hey..." I repeated lamely.

"Uh..." Frostee paused, "my mom said you left around four this morning. I hope she didn't give you any trouble." He added.

How is he so cute? Asking if his mom gave me trouble when I pretty much sneaked out on him. Is he just really nice or naive? Shouldn't he be upset or at least a little annoyed?

"No, she was really nice. She just said that I should use the guest bedroom next time." I laughed awkwardly.

"Look-"

"So-"

We cut each other off speaking at the same time.

"Go ahead." Frostee offered.

"Um, I'm really sorry about, sneaking out. I mean I wasn't really sneaking out, something came up and I meant to text you, but I got distracted and I forgot to let you know and I'm also sorry I missed your call earlier." I stopped because I didn't want to ramble on. However, rambling is a sign that my feelings are actually honest. I really do feel bad about leaving him last night.

"It's okay." Frostee said simply.

That's it? He's not mad or even sad about it.

"Are you sure? I really do feel terrible about it." I admitted.

"Yeah, I'm okay. But if you don't mind me asking. Why did you?" My eyes widened and I was so glad we were talking on the phone instead of in person I started to pace my room creating a draft.

"Oh well, Flora actually called. She needed me." Frostee didn't answer, "girl stuff." I said quickly. It wasn't a complete lie.

"Oh, yeah of course." He coughed.

Whenever a man asks what's wrong and you tell them 'girl stuff' they will immediately drop it. I learned that early on. After a moment of silence, he spoke again.

"I hope I don't sound too eager, but now that we are...official when can I take you out on a real date?" My heart fluttered.

"Oh right..." I blushed. "Well, unfortunately, my schedule is pretty packed this week with homework and tutoring..."

"You have a tutor, I thought you were...smart?" Frostee said like a question.

"Well...I'm the tutor." I pushed my lips together tightly and bit the inside of my cheek. "I got in trouble for skipping class and instead of getting suspended, the principal offered that I tutor some students." I explained.

It might be ignorant for me to think this way, but I feel ashamed admitting to my rebellion...that's who I am right? The rebel.

"Oh..." Frostee sounded disappointed. I wasn't sure if he was disappointed in my bad behavior or the fact that I was almost always busy.

"Don't worry, I'm sure I will be able to squeeze you in." I said humorsly and he chuckled over the phone which made me relax.

"Then just let me know when you will be free." I heard his smile.

"I will." I heard the garage door opening as soon as the words left my mouth. "My mom just got home so I should go."

"Okay, yeah text me later. Bye Red."

"Bye Blue."

I hung up hiding my phone in my pocket ready to greet my mom. She better be feeling good and well-rested after her SPA weekend. Weird to admit, but I did miss her.
