Blaire's POV
"Shut up, Lydia! I'm doing this for you!" Mom yelled. "And I'm asking you not to!" Lydia yelled back. I sighed as I walked past their fight. They looked over. "Blaire! We just-" I looked over and they stopped. "Save it. I'm going out." I spat, and marched out the door. Cleo met me there, looking very confused. "Rough day?" She asked. I took a deep breath and smiled. "Just tired. Come on. Let's get you to the matrix." I said. Cleo wagged her tail. "Thank you for helping me, Blaire." She said. "It's Hurricane to you, my friend. You better start coming up with some corny name to be called for the rest of your life." I said. "That's... ok." She sighed.

Zephyr seemed shocked. "You want me to make your friend a super hero?" She asked. "Yes. Look at this thing she has!" I handed Zephyr the stick. She spun it in her hand. "It's a nice bow staff, but what are you gonna do with it?" Zephyr asked. "It conducts electricity." Cleo added. Zephyr raised an eyebrow and pressed a button on the stick. The end of it started sparking and Zephyr huffed. She turned it off and handed it back to Cleo. "Ok Sparky. You learn how to wield that thing and you got a deal, but heroes have to make an appearance. Get yourself a costume, a name, and go kick someone's ass. Then I'll put you in the system." She said. "Consider it done, Zephyr." I smiled.

Cleo pointed the stick at me. "Hit me if you can!" I smirked. She pressed a button and a bolt shot out at me. I flew out of the way just in time, and she fired again. "Whoo! Nice shooting, Spark Hound!" I giggled. "Stop with the dog names!" She barked. "Why? Does that make you mad, Spark Hound?" I smirked. She growled and pressed a different button by accident. The stick flung out of her hand and sent out an electric pulse that shot me back into a tree. The stick just fell to the ground and Cleo stared at it in shock. I groaned in pain. "Wow! That thing packs a punch!" I whined. "I am so sorry! Are you ok?" Cleo ran over to the tree. I sat up on the branch I hit and brushed myself off. "Yeah! Catch me!" I jumped off and she shrieked. Cleo held out her arms and caught me bridal style. "Ooh! Aren't you strong? I'm picking you when we do trust falls." I laughed and stood up. "You really think I can do this? I mean, I can't even control this stick!" Cleo picked up the staff. "Of course you can! Anyone who's brave enough can be a hero! But you don't have to use the stick if you don't want to." I said. Cleo looked down at it. "No. I have to. Alex said-" I choked on air and she looked over confused. "Alex? Alex Fate?" I asked. Cleo raised an eyebrow and nodded. "She sent you to be a hero?" I asked. "Yeah, and she told me to use this." Cleo held up the staff. "Oh my gosh! Cleo, do you know what this means? You are literally a gift from the gods!" I smiled. "Wait what? You believe in that too?" She asked. "It's no joke, Cleo. Ask any of us. Hell, ask them. It's true." I giggled. "But why? Why would gods want to help us? Why would they pick me?" She asked. "I don't know! I'm just a mortal. I've learned not to question it." I shrugged. "That makes no sense!" Cleo groaned. "They're Greek! What do you expect?" I huffed. She just stared at me for a moment. "That's a good point actually. Ok fine. Spark Hound, ready for more." She smiled. "Ha ha! Yes! Spark Hound! Alright go make a costume. That has to be all you. Plus, I have to go on patrol." I said. "Ok. Thank you, Blaire." She smiled. "No problem." I replied.

I was scheduled to patrol until sunset, but as the sun was going down, I spotted something. The usual suspects were breaking into a bait shop by the docks. "Matrix. Come in matrix." I tapped my suit cam and it started talking to me. "I read you." Zane said. "I found the robbers. You want me to go in with the plan?" I asked. "Affirmative. We'll put backup on standby." He replied. "Gotcha. Heading in now." I said. So I flew down to the bait shop and walked in the door. The twin speedsters were looting the register while the fox boy tied up the cashier. "Ahem-" I coughed a little. They all looked over. "Did you find everything you were looking for with your purchase today?" I smiled innocently. "We were just about to check out." Lucas sped over to me and I threw a snowball at him. "Ah- what the-?" He was so confused that it gave me the chance to blast him with lightning. He got back up, and when I fired again, the girl sped over and tackled him down. "Now you're just being lazy with your attacks!" She snapped. She tried to run after me and I just created a giant ball of snow over her head. It trapped her and she glared at me. "This is stupid." She groaned. "I think you make a great snowman!" I cheered. "Dont get too cold with Hurricane. She's just playing it safe since she knows how easily I can break her legs." The fox guy walked up behind me and I turned to him. "It was a minor sprain." I scoffed. "Oh don't worry. I won't make that mistake again." He smirked. I heard a flame crackle behind me and smiled. "You really like those super bands huh?" I asked. I ducked right when the girl threw a fireball at me. It blasted the fox guy back and I turned to the girl. "You like fire?" I asked. I melted the snow and used the water to trap her in a bubble. She covered her mouth to save her breath, and I threw her over at the fox boy. When she landed on him, the water crashed onto both of them. Lucas sped over while I wasn't looking and punched me in the gut. When he swung again, I grabbed his fist and smirked. "Hi Lucas! It's nice to officially meet you." I greeted him. His face dropped and all the tension in his fist faded. "That's right. I know who you are. You're a fucking loser!" I laughed. Then I grabbed his other arm and swung him out the front door. I casted a fireball at the ropes holding the cashier, and they burnt to a crisp. "Get out of here now!" I ordered. He ran off and I turned back to the nameless ones. "Alright Foxy, and... what do I call you?" I thought for a moment and they just glared at me. "Eh- whatever. Out you go!" I created a gust of wind that carried them outside.

Once I had them outside, I went to tie them up, but unfortunately, I forgot one. "Good evening, Hurricane." I heard. I spun around and saw Pink Wings standing on the roof. "Shit." I huffed. She swooped down and kicked me to the ground. I casted a fireball at her, but she transformed and landed in her animal form. A pink dog with feathered wings. "That's quite the mix." I noted. She bolted straight at me and snapped her jaw at my feet. "Hey! Not cool, ankle biter!" I shrieked, and took to the sky. She flew after me though, and I quickly conjured a storm above us. Thunder roared in the sky and I threw a lightning bolt at Pink Wings. She swooped around it though, and chased me through the rain. So I made the rain harder, until it was too much for her to flap her wings. "Argh- you fucker!" She took one final flap, and shot herself at me like a torpedo. Then she sunk her claws into my chest and I whined in pain. I tried to pull her off of me, but she wouldn't budge, and she kept trying to bite at my hands. Finally she let go, but only to transform back and kick me in the stomach. She sent me tumbling down into the docks, and landed in front of me after I crashed into a barrel. As she stepped closer, I did the only thing I could think of. I used the rest of my strength to channel the water by the docks and create a small tidal wave behind Pink Wings. She jumped down on me to pin me back, and I immediately dropped the wave. It crashed down on us both and pulled us back to the water. It pulled us all the way to the edge of the dock and I grabbed onto the post for dear life. I couldn't fly up, or even pull myself now. All I could do was hold the dock. Pink Wings was half in the water, but was still latched onto my legs. She dunked her wings under the water and started flapping as hard as she could, to pull me off the dock. "Ah! No!" My grip loosened with each tug. "Fuck! Matrix, help!" I yelled. Lucas sped up to the dock and kicked my hands on the post. I screamed in pain and frustration. He kicked me again and I dropped a hand. I could barely hold on now, but when he raised his foot again, a dog ran up behind him and bit his ankle. "Ah!" He jumped back and slipped off the dock, into the water. The dog let go and came to me. "Are you ok?" She asked. "Spark Hound!" I realized. She transformed back and pulled me back onto the dock. Then she kicked Pink Wings back into the water. I looked down at her costume. She wore a simple black mask with a black and silver jacket. "Best I could do on short time." She shrugged. "You're right on time. Don't worry." I panted. Cleo took my hand and pulled me back to the bait shop.
