Kat's POV
Despite hating everything about this idea, I still had to find my doppelganger to protect her. Luckily though, most things on this world are the same on Earth thirty one, so I knew where to go. "Hey! Kara... quick favor." I popped into her room. "No." She spat. Most of my friends doubles aren't superheroes like they are on my Earth. So everyone here is basically just a bitch. "You don't even know what I was going to say!" I exclaimed. "Don't care. Get out of my room, weasel." Kara huffed. I rolled my eyes and closed the door. Just then, Santana's door opened from down the hall. She stopped when she saw me. "Hey! Quick question-" I walked over to her. "Oh no! Please no! I am not up for any of your quests." She retreated into her room. I sighed and followed her. "Santana, come on. You're the only good person in this family and I need your help. You don't have to go anywhere or do anything! I just need information." I said. She raised an eyebrow. "Kat, I don't know what you needed from Kara, but if you think she won't attack me anymore than she'll attack you, then you're sorely mistaken." She said. "You're stronger than her." I replied. She laughed at the thought. "Is that what you think? I'm not what you think I am, Kat." She shook her head. "I've seen what you're capable of, Santana. Just because your personality is different in that dimension, doesn't mean your powers are. You're strong, and I know that you know it. So please. Tell me what I need to know." I said. Santana stared at me for a second. "What is it?" She asked. "Kara is dating the Lizz from this Earth. Where does she live?" I asked.
Quinn got her lackeys to drive us there. "Why are you two helping?" I asked. "I have a score to settle with Sash after she killed my ex." Casey replied. "Yeah, and she keeps trying to drain my boyfriend's powers." Cory added. "Is this going to take long? I need to get back to my father." Quinn said. "I get that you're worried, but everything is gonna be fine. I promise." I replied. "We're here! God damn! You're rich, girl!" Casey laughed. We looked up at the mansion in front of us. "Eh- mine's bigger." Quinn huffed. "Oh shut up. Thanks, guys. Be back in a minute." I said, and got out of the car.
Quinn and I went to the front door and knocked. Lizz answered it, and her eyes widened in horror. "Oh my god... Katherine! You were right!" She yelled into the hall. We heard something crash across the house, and Kat came running up behind Lizz. She smiled when she saw me. "Ah! I can't believe it! You're me!" She tackled me to the ground. "Ugh- you know who I am?" I asked. "Yes! You're from a parallel Earth! I've been doing research for years on the strange portal frequencies in the city. I only figured it was you when Lizz said her girlfriend was talking about me!" She explained. "Oh... ok." I glanced to the side, uncomfortably. Quinn snatched Kathrine off of me and pushed her away. "Personal space, girl." She snapped. "Ooh, you must be from this Earth. Meh- my version is cuter." Katherine said. "What?" I asked, as Quinn helped me up. "Come in! Please! This way!" Katherine ran inside and we followed her.
Her room was huge, but it was cramped with computers, whiteboards, and sticky notes. Not to mention trash. "You're a twin? Also, you said your name wasn't Katherine." Quinn whispered. "Because I hate it. You call me that, and I will let Sash murder you. And yes, I have an identical twin." I replied. "Welcome to my research room! I've been building portals since I was a child, and when I succeeded in finding another universe, I was elated! And then I realized that you had done the same. I've been trying to find you for months, but you're hard to track down." Katherine told me. "Wait wait wait. You made an interdimensional portal?" I asked. "Yeah! What? Did you think you were the first?" She laughed and handed me a book. "Aliens have been traveling between universes for centuries!" She explained. The book had a whole history of people crossing worlds. "I'm an alien." I said. "You are?! That. Is. So. Interesting. Tell me everything!" She grabbed a notebook and clicked a pen in my face. "Uh... sure, but later. You said you've been to my Earth?" I asked. "Oh yeah! Quinny! Come here!" She called. Quinn and I cringed at the name. Another version of Quinn came out from a desk behind a pile of junk. "Yeah babe? Oh god!" She jumped back. "Babe? You two are dating?" My Quinn asked. "Yep. I saved her life, and she stuck around." Kathrine smiled. "You! You must be the mafia jerk that people keep mistaking me for! Do you know how hard it was for me to leave that life behind?!" Quinn thirty one yelled. "Bitch, you're on my Earth. Fuck you." Quinn huffed. "Girls. Stop." I spat. "So what brings you to my door?" Kathrine asked. "You're in danger." I said. "Fantastic." Quinn thirty one walked back to her desk.
Quinn's POV
I followed my double as Kat explained everything to Kathrine. "Hey! What gives? You're mad at me for living my life?" I asked. Quinn spun around in her chair to face me. "I'm mad at you for living that life." She corrected me. I raised an eyebrow. "I was like you once. Almost exactly. I had the criminal world eating out of the palm of my hand, and it was glorious! I had more power than any human could ever dream! But my life was cold and empty. Everyone that I could have cared about was killed because of my foolishness. Casey, Cory, my father, and my mother... and for what? A title?" She asked. "That's your life. Not mine." I snapped. "But it will be, because I refused to love. I refused to show compassion and empathy... and it destroyed everything. Kathrine only found me because I mistook her for someone else." She explained. "I'm not like you. I don't have that power, and all my friends are still alive!" I said. "But for how long? Kathrine is in danger, right? Why do I assume it has something to do with you?" She snarled. My eyes widened. "Exactly. I may not know who's attacking you, but I know what they'll do if you don't stop them. You're going to need Kat's help. I know it's your instinct to push her away, but you need her." She snapped. "She's the reason I'm in danger. That your girlfriend is in danger! It's not my fault! And you don't know me, so stop acting like you do! Kat and I hardly know each other and just because you're dating her, doesn't mean I have to." I snapped. She smirked. "I never said you had to date her." She said. My face flashed red and I stiffened. "Kat! Are you ready to go?" I ran out.
"Don't worry about it! My house is protected by a special spell that my dads wrote themselves! I'll be fine, but as for your Madex problem, I can help!" Kathrine said. I raised an eyebrow. "You can?" Kat asked. "Madex's have an easy weakness. Natural electricity. Just one spark is enough to drain them powerless." Kathrine explained. Kat smiled. "Thank you! You're a lifesaver. I'll be back when she's defeated, and I promise I'll answer all of your questions." Kat told her. "I know you will. It's what I would do." Kathrine smiled.
Before we got back into the car, I grabbed Kat's wrist. "Huh? What's wrong?" She asked. "I think I know how we can get the jump on Sash, but you'll have to really play into the fake dating thing." I said. Kat smiled at me. "Sure! I think acting like that is kinda fun, and besides, I trust you Quinn." She said. My eyebrows shot up. "You do? ...you shouldn't." I gripped my arm, nervously. "Spare me the lecture, Quinn. I can see who you really are past all of this." She gestured to my stature. "What are you talking about?" I asked, confused. She sighed. "Nothing. Just get in the car and tell me the plan." She replied.
