Regina's POV
When our alarm went off, and I checked the mission log, I was confused. We were being called to a suspicious presence in this old mall. "Zill! Honey! You're coming with us!" I yelled. "What? Why?" She groaned. "Because last time we got a call like this, we got gassed out and dragged to Teen Island. Now I'm very glad that Riley is happy with her weird girlfriend, but I don't feel like going back there. So you're coming as backup!" I explained. She sighed and got up. "Ok. Fine. I'm happy to be your gas mask." She said, sarcastically.

We all landed outside the mall, and Red walked to me. "Gold. Just got a message from the matrix. They didn't send us here." She told me. I raised an eyebrow. "What do you mean? They must have!" I replied. "They didn't. In fact, they sent Paws and Aethra here a week ago, and they found nothing." Red explained. I gulped and looked up at the mall. "Zill, can you scan for any life?" I asked. She nodded and flew up to get a better angle. "Found one." Silver grabbed my shoulder and pointed over at the entrance. There was a man standing in front of the doors, just staring at us. "That's horrifying. Ok. Sil, Lime, with me. Everyone else, stay back and surround him." I ordered. Then we slowly approached the man, with arrows ready. "Hello sir. Do you have a reason to be here so late at night?" I asked. The man was old. His hair was thin and gray, with bits of brown still in it. The hair matched his beard, and he wore a baggy black jacket. There was a large noticeable burn scar across his neck, and his eyes were a bright auburn color. His pupils never left my body. Every step I took, he watched very carefully, but practically ignored the girls behind me. "Sir, are you alright?" I asked. "You've grown." He mumbled. His voice was deep and gravely. "I'm sorry?" I asked. "It's so nice to see you, Regina." He smiled, and I tensed. "Sir, I don't know who you're referring to, but that's not my name. Now will you tell me what you're doing here?" I asked. He huffed a laugh. "Kayla! I know you're here too. The red one, I'd assume. You always liked that color." He smirked. My eyes widened. "Sir! None of us know who you're talking about. Now please-!" He laughed and I stopped. "Still just as hot headed as I remember. Well don't worry, Regina. I know you've been through your hells, but I'm going to fix everything very soon." He said. I squinted at him. "I'll ask you one more time. What is your business here?" I lifted my bow. "I'm here for my daughters." He said, simply. Two teenagers slowly emerged from the doors behind him, and started walking to us. "Get them." The old man ordered. The teens ran at us. The girl ran to me, but the boy ran right past, and towards Red. The girls grabbed me, and I struggled to push her off of me. Her grip was stronger than I expected. Silver and Lime tried to save me, but the girl blasted them away with her magic. "Girls!" I shrieked. I looked back and saw the boy doing the same thing to Red. Luckily, Green didn't hesitate to shoot him in the shoulder, and he fell to the ground in pain. I punched the girl again, and again, but she wouldn't let go, and started dragging me towards the man. "Fuck!" I yelled. Almost immediately, Zill teleported down in front of me and stripped the girl off of me. She chucked her at the old man, and they both fell in pain. "Are you ok?" Zill asked. "Yeah! We gotta go! Now!" I ordered, and we all retreated.

Red and I stood on the balcony after we got home. "Red, are you ok?" I asked. "Yeah, thanks to Green. Who the fuck was that? Why did he know us?" She asked. I stared at her for a moment. "I don't know. He said he wanted his daughters, and with that attack, I'd say he meant us." I replied. "Our father is dead. There's no way he could have survived that fire." She huffed. I looked to the side in thought. "Gold?" Red asked. I glanced back at her in concern. "Derek survived." I reminded her. She huffed a laugh. "Derek has fire powers! Derek started the fire that killed them!" She added. "Mmm- debatable." I replied. "Whatever! Point is, it makes sense that Derek survived. How would our dad have survived that fire?" She asked. "I don't know! But they never found his body. Maybe it could be him!" I exclaimed. "And what if it is him, Gold? What then? Because he just tried to kill us!" Red snapped. "I understand that. No one said he was a good man, but if he is our father, then we need to take caution with what we do next. Evil or not, I'm not losing anyone else." I replied. Red glared at me for a moment and then sighed. "Ok." She agreed.

Green slowly crept up behind us. "Hey." She smiled nervously. "Hi Green." I sighed. "Hey babe." Red walked to her and took her hands. "Zephyr and Zane have asked us to a meeting at the matrix tomorrow. They need to know exactly what happened and compare it to what Paws and Aethra saw. Is that gonna be ok?" She asked. "Yeah? Why wouldn't it be?" I asked. "Gold, that man knew you. Both of you! This isn't something we can brush off. This is serious. He could hurt you!" She explained. "Not with you around. You shot a teenager for me." Red smiled and slid her hand to the side of Green's face. "I'm serious, babe." She moved Red's hand away. "Green is right. This is bad, but we're gonna be ok. We'll go to the meeting tomorrow, and I'm sure the matrix kids will come up with something. They always do." I smiled. Green sighed heavily. "If you say so." She replied.

When Gabe first told us that his daughter and son were in charge of all the hero business, I was skeptical, but I have to admit, they do a killer job. All of my team sat down in the board room, along with Zill, and Zane sat at the head of the table. "Hello Arrows! And thank you for coming on such short notice. Zephyr is overlooking our dinotron protection program right now, so I'll be running this meeting today." He greeted us. "So she's on a date?" Lime smirked, and I high-fived her. Zane rolled his eyes and stood up. A board extended from the ceiling, and a picture appeared on it. "Anyway! This is the mall you were called to last night, correct?" He asked, pointing to the photo. "Yep. That's it." I confirmed. "Alright. About a week ago, my father sent Paws and Aethra to investigate a strange energy signal at this very mall. There they found two teenagers that had a permit claiming that they owned the mall, and were refurbishing it. They said that it was extremely sketchy, but that the paperwork was real, so there's nothing they could do." He explained. I raised an eyebrow, and looked at Red. She returned the look, and turned to Zane. "What did the teenagers look like?" She asked. Zane tapped the screen and the picture changed to Aethra's suit cam. My eyes widened. "Those are the same kids that attacked us!" I pointed at them. Zane paused the video and turned to us. "The ten of you don't have cameras hooked up like your children do. Zill's footage is helpful, but it's not enough. What exactly did you see there?" Zane asked. "There was an old man. A real creeper. He knew Red and I's names, and acted like he knew us. He said he was looking for his daughters, and then sicked his teenage minions on us." I explained. "I shot the boy." Green added. "And you saw what I did to the girl." Zill smiled, proudly. I smiled and wrapped my arm around her shoulders. "Those kids were strong. Like, magically strong." I explained. Zane looked down in thought. "This old guy. Did you recognize him at all?" He asked. I glanced at Red and she sighed. "I didn't get a good look at him, and I know Gold didn't recognize him, but from the way he was talking, I think this man could be our father." Red admitted. Zill and Green looked at us like we were insane. "Your dad burned thirty years ago!" Zill exclaimed. "His body was never found, and Derek made it out! Whose to say he didn't either!?" Red shrugged. "What's your fathers name? I can look up his public profile." Zane said. "David Decker." Red answered. Zane tapped the screen again, and his picture appeared on the screen. "Last known government photo of him is from the same day your house caught fire." He shrugged. The picture on the screen was his drivers license from when Red and I were only kids. I squinted at the picture and thought about what the old man had looked like. There were so many differences, but one thing was certain. His bright auburn eyes. I slowly sat back in my seat and took a deep breath. "That's him. That's the man." I nodded. Zill took my hand and squeezed it. "Gold, do you have any idea what your father might want with you?" Zane asked. I looked down and shook my head. "No. I don't know." I replied. "Babe, are you ok?" Zill whispered. I shook my head. "No. Hell no." I answered.
