Retro's POV
It was the middle of the night, and we were all messing around. We were playing games and eating random junk. Just a typical weekend, until Zill flew in through the balcony. "Mom! What's the matter?" Sky ran over to her. "Your parents' last call was a fake. They were gassed and kidnapped onto a boat. I would have stopped them had I found out sooner, but I just saw it on the news. The cops couldn't chase down the boat because it went into restricted waters." She explained. Everyone got up to listen to her. "I can't follow it to save them, but you all can." Zill added. "Why? What's stopping you?" I asked. "The law is stopping me, and I'm trying my best not to break that anymore!" Zill snapped. "Where did the boat go, mom?" Sky asked. Zill groaned and looked it up on her phone. "A place called Teen Island." She handed it to me and I read it over. "The law prevents any adults from going to the island without written consent. Otherwise, they will be attacked. I don't feel like fighting an army of teenagers, but you all could just simply go over there without the hassle!" Zill explained. "This place legally kidnaps children with bad homes, and nurtures them until they're twenty, or until they're ready to leave. Then they ship them back here. That sounds like it should be illegal." I read the overview. "Teen Island has actually saved countless lives in the past years, and everyone that's gone there has never had a bad word to say about it. I don't think it's a bad place, but that doesn't mean there can't be bad people there." Zill explained. "How would we even get there? I'm all for saving our parents, but that's a long trip." I handed her back her phone. "Take Riley's boat." Dylan suggested. "That kid has a boat?" Zill asked. "Long story, but yes. Come on Retro. We have to try." Dylan said. I nodded. "Suit up, Arrows. We've got ground to cover. Dylan, get the keys to the boat. Do any of you know how to drive a boat?" I asked. "I do!" Addison volunteered. "How did you learn that?" Dylan asked. "My moms. Green knows a lot of ways to run away from people." Addy replied. I squinted in confusion. "Ok, talk later. Let's go guys!" I announced.
Sky used her magic to speed up the boat, but it still took us several hours to get there. We all slept under the deck while the night passed by. We arrived around noon the next day. "Ok. We have no idea what we're walking into right now. So be cautious, and stick together." I ordered, and the team nodded in agreement. We parked the boat at the dock and walked onto the island. "Welcome to Teen Island! Visiting I see. Nice costumes." A girl in a shiny suit of armor greeted us. "We're superheroes, and our parents were kidnapped and taken here. Do you know anything about that?" I asked. Her eyes widened. "The whole island has been buzzing with talk of adults on the island. You're saying it's true?! Oh god... no! I don't know what happened to them. I'm just a dock watcher, but if I had to guess, they're in the castle dungeon." She explained. "And how do we get there?" I asked. "That way. Past the marketplace. You'll see the castle." She pointed away and I nodded. "Thank you." I smiled and she nodded. "Good luck." She said.
Walking through the marketplace was weird. It was like a giant farmers market, but with everything you could ever think of wanting. "This place is so weird." I mumbled. "I think it's nice." Ella replied. Almost immediately, we found a pathway that led straight up to a giant castle. "Woah. That's horrifying." Dylan noted. "Let's just hurry this up so that we can get out of here." I snapped, and we ran up the path. There was a guard at the door, and he jumped when he saw us. "Hey! I don't want any trouble! I'll let you in! Please don't shoot me!" He opened the door and shrunk down. I raised an eyebrow at Ella and she bent down to him. "Hey. It's ok. What happened?" She asked. "You're not with the bandits? They just stormed the castle. Held me at gun point!" He exclaimed. Ella looked up at me in terror and I clenched my fist. "Do you know the way to the dungeon?" I asked. "Yes! To the left, and just follow the path." He pointed inside, and we ran in. "I don't know what's going on here, but I don't want to be here when it falls apart." I spat.
We ran down the hall, but when I turned the corner, I immediately swung back around and pushed the team back. "What? What's there?" Dylan asked, and I slapped my hand over her mouth. "There are like... a hundred guards in that fucking hall. We need a plan." I whispered. Just then, a barrage of gunshots rang out behind us, and we all ducked down. "What the fuck was that?" Ella asked. "They're here! I know it! Retro! Where are you? Don't worry! It's safe!" We heard. I raised an eyebrow and pulled an arrow back. Then I slowly peeked around the corner and my eyes widened in shock. "Riley?!" I asked, stunned. I came around the corner and the team followed. "Retro!" Riley smiled and ran to me. There was a group of kids in black leather behind her, all holding guns. "Who are they? And what are you doing here? We thought you were on vacation." I said, sarcastically. "Wherever you got that was a lie. I've been trapped here for months. Oh, and these are the Teen Bandits. They're basically the cops of the island. And this is Emma. She's their leader, and she's my girlfriend." Riley explained, and wrapped her arm around a blonde girl. I just blinked a few times. "What?" I asked, confused. Riley hugged me, even though I was still lost. "Hate to break this up, but we gotta break out your parents now before more guards come." Emma said, and led us to the dungeon.
We broke our parents out of the jail cells, and I ran over to Gold. "What the hell is going on?" I asked. "I'm not entirely sure, but I have a pretty good idea. Let's just focus on escaping though." She replied, and we ran out. Riley's new friends led the way. They brought us right through the throne room since it was the quickest way out, although they clearly didn't think that over very well. "Emma Dune." A man's voice echoed across the room and we all stopped. Emma took a deep breath and looked over at the throne. "King Felix." She greeted him. "You're the leader of the Teen Bandits, and yet you dare to betray the island?" He asked. "No I didn't. I betrayed you, and you betrayed the island." She accused him. Her friends were shocked. "Excuse me?" Felix stood up. "You captured all of these innocent adults for no reason whatsoever. Which breaks the number one rule of Teen Island. No adults under any circumstances." She snapped. "I have my reasons, and they don't concern you!" Felix yelled. Gold squinted at him. "We killed your family, didn't we? And now you want revenge? I gotta admit, you did pretty good with the whole evil plot thing. Although if my hunch is true, and you were one of our victims, wouldn't that make you in your early twenties?" Gold asked. Felix panicked. "No! Uh- guards!" He yelled. We all readied our arrows, but Emma waved us off. "Oh don't bother. We got this. Joey?" She turned to her friend, who nodded in response. Riley hooked my arm. "Time to go." She mumbled, and I nodded. I whistled for my team and they all followed us out.
The adults and the rest of my team all got on the boat. Riley punched me. "You stole my boat!" She snapped. "You had us worried sick!" I punched her back. "Sorry! But I knew you'd find me eventually. That's what you idiots do." She poked my chest. "You seem a lot happier." I said. She smiled. "It's because of Emma... which leads me to my next question." Riley said. "You want to bring her with us, don't you?" I asked. "Oh that's out of the question. Can she stay with us at HQ? She doesn't have anywhere to go." She replied, and I smiled. "Of course. Now let's get out of here. This place makes me feel weird." I shuddered, and Riley laughed.
