Kara's POV
When we flew into the mall, it was a shooting match. The Arrows were shooting from behind pillars and trash cans. Retro and Sky were up in the front though, using their magic to fight off Sawyer and Pepper. "So it really was them." I huffed. "I can't scan them. They have some sort of protection spell active." Lizz told me. "They're the ones that casted this spell. We need to figure out how they did it." Zephyr said. "On it. Help The Arrows. Sonar, Talon, let's help Orange and Gold." I ordered, and they nodded in agreement. We flew down to them just as Retro punched Sawyer away. "Hey! So, good news! We figured out how the spell works! Bad news, we can't shut down the spell without killing these two idiots! Oh, and if you haven't noticed, they won't let us leave!" She exclaimed. "What?! How can they be connected to the spell after it's been cast?" I asked. Sawyer jumped back at Retro, and she tackled him down. Lizz ran in to help her. Sky blasted Pepper away, and turned to me. "Since our parents disrupted their spell while it was still casting, it never actually finished. That's why it just disappeared before it reached the street. The spell is still active, and since it's their magic, as long as they're alive, it'll stay that way." She explained. "Your idiotic parents ruined everything! Although, them turning into teenagers worked out in our favor. That's just less people that will be able to help you." Pepper snarled. "Wait, was that not what the spell was for?" I asked. "Of course not! What use does that serve? We must have done something wrong when we started the spell." Pepper shrugged. "Shut up! Your blabber mouth is gonna get us in trouble!" Sawyer snapped. Pepper rolled her eyes and blasted at us again. Santana shoved us out of the way, and bolted after her. She tackled her so hard, that they shot into one of the old stores nearby. Sawyer blasted Retro and Lizz off of him, and they were launched back to the other Arrows behind us. They kept firing, but Sawyer had some sort of invisible force field protecting him. "Enough of this!" He blasted at me and Sky. I put up a shield in front of us and struggled to hold it against his magic. Sky went invisible, and snuck around the back, so she could body slam him into the ground. I let go and ran over to help, but Sky pinned Sawyer down. "I got him! Get everyone out of here!" She yelled. "What about you and Talon?" I asked. "Rover, if you don't leave now, then no one is getting out of here!" Sky snapped. I sighed and ran back to the others. "Everyone out! Come on! Retreat!" I shouted.
We waited outside anxiously. "Are we sure this was the right thing to do? They need our help!" Lizz exclaimed. "Sky was right. If we didn't get out just then, we'd be stuck in there forever." I shrugged. "Made it!" Santana tripped over to me and collapsed onto my shoulder. "Oh my god! Are you ok?" I asked. "Other than the pain of my sister leaving me to die? Yeah, I'm fine." She panted. "Oh, fuck you. You've left me in worse situations." I groaned. "I seriously doubt that!" She replied. "Girls! Not now! Where's Sky?" Lizz asked. "Is she not with you? Pepper teleported away, and when I came out, no one was there." Santana shrugged. "Yeah! That sounds accurate!" Sky limped over to her team. Bailey ran over to hug her. "What the hell happened to you?" Santana asked. "Sawyer left with his little girlfriend, but he teleported me with him, and I sure as hell wasn't going to stick around to fight both of them!" Sky explained. "Ok, then let's get out of the parking lot before they come after us." I said. "We're out of arrows. We're gonna restock at our HQ, and then we'll come meet you at the lab." Retro replied. I nodded, and we left.
We got back and I helped Lizz wipe the blood from her lip. "You landed face first?" I asked. "I think Retro broke her nose, so I'd say I'm pretty lucky." She shrugged. I smiled and kissed her. "Oh hey! I actually am related to you now!" Apollo smiled at Charlie. "Wow. That's exactly what you said as an adult too." Charlie sighed. "Did you get the others to agree?" I asked. "Our team, Lea, and the good Arrows, yes. The others however, have been trying to break the glass for the last thirty minutes." Apollo answered. "Their kids will be here soon to talk to them. Hopefully, they can make some headway." I shrugged. "So what did you guys figure out?" Charlie asked. "Apparently, since they disrupted the spell, it never finished. So it's still active inside of Pepper and Sawyer. As long as they're alive, the spell remains." I explained. "Ok, well killing them is not an option." Charlie huffed. "What else can we do?! I don't want to hurt them, but we need our parents back!" I exclaimed. "Kara, they're kids too! What about their parents? You can't ruin someone's life just to make yours better." Aurelia snapped. I was taken back. "She's right. Villain or not, we have to try to help them." Charlie agreed.
"If they're attached to the spell, why don't we just unplug them?" Apollo asked. I looked over at her in confusion. "What?" I asked. "Wait, that actually might work. If we take away their magic, the spell won't have anything to hold onto, so it would just return to the world." Aurelia explained. "There's no way you understood that nonsense." I huffed. "Yeah, that makes no sense." Santana agreed. "Really? Sounds like one of your plans." I mumbled. "That could work, but it could possibly kill them. Even if we took away their powers, there is an active spell inside of them. The removal could take so much energy that it sucks the life out of them." Charlie explained. "We have to try! Lemmy! What are our chances?" I asked. Lemmy stood in the corner, and just waved her hand a little. "If it's a fifty-fifty chance, why not gamble for it?" I asked. Charlie stared at me for a moment, then sighed. "Ok. We can try." He agreed.
"Making power cuffs that strong is gonna take some serious tech. We should see if you have any at the matrix." Santana suggested. Before I could respond, a gun shot rang out across the room, and the bullet aimed straight for Santana. She caught it immediately, and we all flinched. When we looked over, Quinn was holding her gun up at Santana. "Quinn, what are you doing?" Lizz asked. "What I was told. You should be more careful with people you bring home. That isn't your sister." She spat. "What?" I asked. "Quinn, what are you talking about?" Santana asked. "Kat tells me everything about all of you. Last I heard, you still work at the matrix, meaning you would know if you had the right materials there or not. You don't need to go there though. You just need to get out of this basement before we figure you out, right? And another thing. Your plans almost always come out sounding just as stupid as your moms, and you know it, because you said yourself that you're not good at this hero crap. So you wouldn't find Apollo's plan confusing. In fact, you should have been one of the only people that understood it. Come on, Kara! You said Santana just appeared outside after you left her? You really think the Santana you know would have been able to fight off Pepper by herself?" Quinn asked. My eyes widened, and I looked over at Santana in shock. "And one more thing." Quinn shot the gun again, and the bullet shot right into Santana's shoulder. "Your sister is bulletproof." Quinn said.
Santana laughed as she gripped her shoulder, and transformed back into Pepper. "You fools! Once David finds out about your plan, he'll do anything to keep you at bay! And he won't hesitate to kill, unlike you." She smirked. "And who's gonna tell him? I know for a fact that you can't teleport with a bullet in your shoulder." I replied. Lizz jumped on her and pinned her to the floor. "Don't put the power cuff on now. If we do it without Sawyer, it could make the spell unstable." Charlie advised. Lizz put her in normal handcuffs and forced her into one of our cells. "Thank you, Quinn." I smiled. "Thank Lemmy. She told me to do it." Quinn shrugged. "Wait, are we not concerned about your other friends?" Apollo asked. "What? Why?" I asked. "You said that one of them appeared with Santana after you left, and also, where is the real Santana then?" She asked. My eyes widened. "Zephyr. Zane. Go to Arrows HQ, now!" I ordered.
