Blaire's POV
"What do you think, babe? I really like this one." I admitted. We're in Max's room. He looked up from his phone and choked in shock. He sat up on his bed. "I thought you were trying on the new jeans you bought. That's a bathing suit!" He exclaimed. I laughed and walked over to him. "It's my new one. I brought it over here just to mess with you. You're coming to the beach this summer. It's not optional!" I pointed at him, and he smiled. "Ok. I think you look great, babe." Max said. I leaned down to him and kissed him. He smiled and pulled back. "I'll have to find a waterproof version of this." He held up his power cuff. "You still need that?" I asked. He nodded. "I just can't control it." He shrugged. "Why don't you let me help you?" I asked. "You don't have light magic, babe. My dad and my sister do, and not even they can help me!" Max groaned. "Yeah, but I'm good at helping people with things like this. Just ask Cleo!" I smiled. He laughed a little and sighed. "Fine. I guess you can try." He agreed.
Max took me to The Arrows training field. "This isn't going to work." He groaned. "Sure it is. You said you got the burning under control right?" I asked. "Yeah?" He replied. "Then what's the harm? Let me see your hand." I held out mine, and he gave me his arm. I took off the power cuff, and he immediately started glowing. "There's my glow stick! Now focus your energy into your hands." I instructed. Max raised an eyebrow. "Do huh?" He asked. I groaned. "Your body is tingling right now, right? You can feel your magic?" I asked, and he nodded. "Good. I want you to channel all that feeling into your hands. Just forget about all the other feelings and focus on your hands." I explained. "But it's hard to not focus on it when it tingles in weird places." Max admitted. "Weird places?" I asked. He shifted his legs and my eyebrows shot up. "Oh! Literal glow stick. Don't worry about that. That used to happen to me too. I got frostbite down there once, and that was so hard to explain to my mom." I laughed. Max just blinked at me. "Nevermind that. Oh here! I have an idea! Take my hands." I held out my hands and Max gently placed his in them. "Focus on my hands. Can you do that?" I asked. Max smiled and nodded. "Sure." He answered. I stepped closer to him and squeezed his hands softly. He looked down at them and smiled a little. Max ran his thumb over top of my hands, and as he did, the light from the rest of his body slowly started to fade, until it was only his hands glowing. "See? I told you I was good at this." I whispered. He smiled up at me as the glow in his hands faded. "Thank you, Blaire." He said. I smiled and squeezed his hands. "You're welcome." I replied. "You wanna help me figure out how to fly?" He asked. "I didn't know you could do that, but yeah! Sure. Let's do it!" I agreed, and he laughed.
Addison's POV
Sitting at lunch with Ella and Kara after the whole Earth twenty six thing, was probably the worst experience I've ever had. Ella had a sore throat, so she couldn't say anything to save me from Kara's endless ranting. "And now Santana is mad at me! Me! Like what did I even do? All I did was translate the nonsense that came out of her mouth! She's mad she didn't get credit? Bitch, we were at war! Who fucking cares about who gets creditted? And now, she won't come home. I don't know where the fuck she is, but she hasn't been sleeping at home! She checks in with mom and then ditches like she's moved out!" Kara groaned. I slowly blinked at her, and glanced over at Ella, who I noticed had an earbud in. That was a smart idea. I should have thought of that. I sighed heavily and looked over at Kara again. "And Lizz thinks that I should hear her out, but I didn't do anything wrong! Some wife she is, to support my sister over me!" Kara huffed. I slammed my hand on the table and they both jumped. "Shut up! Please! Just shut up! Oh my god!" I snapped. Ella placed her hand on my shoulder and gave me a concerned look. "Do you need to talk, Addy?" Kara asked.
I took a deep breath. "Yes, actually. I would like to say something. First of all, shut up Kara. You are in the wrong, because all of us can plainly see that Santana is not a good superhero, but she's trying so hard to fit in with your family, who if you didn't notice, are all extremely powerful and smart. She's not as powerful as you are, Kara, but she's just as smart. Maybe even more, but when she actually tried to use her brain to help us, you pushed her aside. Also, she's staying with Connor at HQ, so don't worry about that." I snapped. Kara was taken back, and I turned to Ella. "Second! You need to have a chat with your girlfriend. I understand that you can't talk right now, but that doesn't mean that Retro needs to be up your ass like a damn live-in nurse. I am so proud of you, for what you did for your dad, but this is insane. Retro is the leader, but she's practically taking a vacation from her duties to nurse you. We're out of arrows. We haven't gone on patrol, or taken any missions, or even practiced since we got back, and it's been two weeks! I am so sick of having to support Retro and her ideas, when they have nothing to do with us, and she never lifts a finger to help any of us unless it's you, Dylan, or Riley. Tell me how that's fair, Ella." I spat. Ella blinked a few times and looked aside. "Well! Now that this is extremely awkward, I'm going to head out." I slapped a twenty on the table and got up to leave.
A little after I got home, Dylan came into my room. "Hi Addy." She smiled. "Retro sent you because of what I said to Ella." I huffed. She sighed and closed the door. Then she muted my room and I raised an eyebrow. "You're right." She admitted. "What?" I asked. Dylan walked over to my bed and sat down at the foot. I sat up and scooted over beside her. "Retro tends to focus on her close friends more than her whole family. I know it's not fair, but I can't change her mind. She does care about you and the others. She's just more comfortable opening up to fewer people." She explained. "I know she cares about us, Dyl. That doesn't give her an excuse to stop doing her job." I replied. Dylan sighed. "Yeah, you're right again! But... I can't even begin to tell you how scared she is right now." Dylan admitted. "Scared of what?" I asked. "She's scared for Ella and her family. When I told her that Ella took Trent off the field, she nearly had a panic attack, and when we found out about what happened with Lila... I don't think I've ever seen her so angry or so scared. I know that's not an excuse, but she's just so worried about her that she can't even think straight." Dylan explained. I huffed and rolled my eyes. "Ella told her what you said, and she asked me to delegate you to lead the team while she's busy." She said. My eyebrows shot up. "Dylan, I don't want to be the leader! Sky and I literally begged our parents not to make us the leaders. I don't have the patience to deal with you all!" I spat. "But you have the spirit. You have leadership blood in your veins, baby. It's only while Ella heals, and I'll be by your side the whole time!" Dylan smiled. I groaned and laid back on the bed. "I hate you both right now." I snapped. "Is that a no?" She asked. "No, but you owe me!" I groaned. "Me?! Why me?" Dylan shrieked. I sighed and sat up. "Because you're my girlfriend, and your Retro's best friend. You're the best way for me to cause some damage." I patted her shoulder. "Oh that's great. Thanks." She laughed. I pecked her lips and stood up. "Ok. Come with me. We need to get more arrows." I said. "Right now? Seriously?" She whined. "Dylan!" I snapped. "Coming! I'm coming!" She stood up and followed me out.
