Connor's POV
When I woke up on Sunday, I didn't think much of anything, until I walked out of my room. No one was in the live room, and I didn't hear anything from the bedrooms. All of them were silent, except one. Riley walked out of her room and headed to the door. "Hey! Riley! Where is everyone?" I asked. She turned to me and raised an eyebrow. "They're downstairs. Some of them left already." She shrugged. "What? Why?" I asked. She squinted at me. "It's Mother's Day." She replied, and left the room. My eyes widened and I panicked. I ran back into my room and grabbed my phone. There were two missed calls from each of my dads, so I called Simon. "Dad! I'm so sorry I didn't get your call." I panicked. "It's alright Connor. We didn't expect you to." Sebastian laughed. "Dad? Where's Purple?" I asked. "Oh, he always has me hold onto his phone when we're here. We're at grandma's grave." He explained. "Oh... right. Well, happy Mother's Day." I sighed. "Thanks Connor. I know today isn't the greatest for you. All your friends are busy and visiting a tombstone isn't exactly a holiday." He said. "It's fine, dad. Should I come meet you guys there?" I asked. "No! That's what I'm saying. You and Santana have been getting serious right? Why don't you go spend the holiday with her moms. They'll be yours too sooner or later." He explained. My jaw dropped and I nearly let go of my phone. "It's just a suggestion. We'll see you tonight though. I'll tell grandma you said hi." He said. "Ok... ok. Thanks dad. I love you." I nodded. "I love you too." He replied, and hung up.

What my dad said made my teeth shudder. I don't know anything about Santana's moms, and I surely don't want to barge in on their special day. Still, I couldn't help but feel lonely today of all days. So I went to the store and then stopped by Santana's house. When I knocked, Aurelia answered it. "Oh! Hi Connor." She raised an eyebrow at me. I nervously huffed a laugh and held out a bouquet of flowers. "Hi! I just came by to give you these." I said. "Oh, well Santana's home. You can go give them to her yourself." She shrugged. "No. I mean, they're for you and your wife." I explained. Her eyebrows shot up in shock. "Sorry?" She asked. "I don't have a mom to spend today with, and none of The Arrows have ever been that close to me, but this is different. I know I'm not married to her, but you're still my mother in law." I smiled nervously. Aurelia slowly smiled back at me. "That's sweet of you. Come in! You're not the only child of gays that we mothered." She took the flowers and led me inside.

Zephyr, Zane, Lizz, and Kat were also here. "Babe! What are you doing here?" Santana smiled and ran over to hug me. "Well, I wanted to wish your mom a happy Mothers Day. You know... since I don't have one." I reminded her. "Oh! Right... you really never met her?" She asked. "No. That's what contracts are for. She agreed to be a surrogate, but she had no intention of meeting me. She just needed money. I don't even want to meet her." I explained. "I guess that's fair enough. Well I'm glad to have you here today. There's so many people here." She groaned. I chuckled and looked around. Kara and Lizz were talking to Kat and Quinn across the room. Zane looked like he was ranting about something to Zephyr. Amber and Ember were talking to Aurelia, and Santana grappled onto my arm like a safety blanket. "I didn't know you were claustrophobic." I chuckled. "I'm not! But this many people in my living room usually means there's some sort of super-war going on, so even when it's just a party, I get a little nervous." She explained. I nodded. "I get that. Going into my parents' live room gives me chills." I shuddered. She giggled and we sat down on the couch. "Where's your mom?" I asked. "Apollo is in the basement with Charlie and Zed. Charlie is like a dad to her, and she never misses an opportunity to remind him of it." She answered. "And where's Zane's dads?" I asked. "At work, like always." She shrugged. I nodded and looked down for a moment. "Are you alright?" Santana asked. "Yeah! I just... every year we visit my grandma's grave on Mother's Day. It means a lot to my dad, and this year... they didn't ask to come with them. I know I don't get a lot of things that they do. I'm not big on musicals or fashion, but I just thought... I thought that was our thing." I shrugged as my eyes started to water. Santana wrapped her arm around me. "I doubt that's why they didn't invite you. Your dads are some of the nicest people I know! And they love you! You're over thinking this. You may not be gay like them, but you definitely inherited their dramatics." She chuckled and nudged my shoulder. I smiled over at her.

Apollo walked past, but backed up immediately when she saw me. "Woah! New child!" She looked over. "Hi." I smiled nervously. "Did you invite him?" She asked Santana. "No. He actually came by to see you!" Santana shoved me to my feet so I would face her mom. "You did?" Apollo asked. "Yeah uh... I don't have a mom, and I'm dating your daughter so... you're technically the closest thing I have. So I guess- happy Mother's Day?" I shrugged. Apollo smiled and hugged me. I tensed in confusion. "Thanks Connor!" She pulled away and patted my shoulder. "Please marry my daughter. I like you." She smiled and walked away. "Uh- ok?" I blinked a few times and then looked over at Santana. She shrugged. "She's just like that." She huffed. I sat back down and Santana rested her head on my shoulder. "We're going to lunch by the way." She whispered. "Am I coming?" I asked. "Yes." She nodded.

We all sat down at a very long table. Charlie and Zed were forced to come with us, which they didn't seem very happy about. Still, everyone chatted all the way through the meal, until Kat stood up. "Guys! Can I have your attention, please?!" She shouted, and everyone looked over at her. "Thank you. After months of struggling to move out, and find real jobs, and graduate high school early, Quinn and I have an announcement." She smiled. Lizz choked before Kat even said anything, and Kara's jaw was on the floor. I looked over at Santana and she seemed just as confused as me. "Lizz, stop it. Anyway! I'm pregnant!" Kat announced. Everybody went silent. "By choice." She added. Still, no one said anything. "Ok, fuck you too." Kat sat back down. "Is that a joke cause it's Mother's Day?" Apollo whispered. "I don't think so." Aurelia replied. "You're pregnant?! Why? You're hardly eighteen!" Zed exclaimed. "Because I felt like it! It's not my fault that you two waited so long." Kat huffed. "I was stuck in another world for ten years!" Zed stood up and pointed at her. "Stop screaming! You're making a scene." Quinn stood up to block Kat. "You. You think you have room to speak right now? Well you should watch your words carefully, dog, because I'm only a second away from making that kid motherless." He snarled. "Mom, are you gonna say something?" Santana whispered. "Why would I do that? It's getting good." Aurelia shook her head. "Is that really what you want? Have you thought this through?" Charlie asked. "Yes. It took me ages to convince Quinn. This is all me, dad." Kat smiled. Quinn slowly sat down and Charlie yanked Zed back into his chair. "Then that's all that matters. You know we're here to help you with anything you need." Charlie smiled. "My dads are gonna eat this up." I laughed. "This is what you signed up for. Every single year." Santana groaned.

On the way home, I stopped at the basketball court to practice alone. Unfortunately, I was only there for about ten minutes, before someone showed up. The ball rolled back behind me, and when I turned around, my dad threw it back to me. "Dad! What are you doing here?" I asked. Simon smiled at me, and Sebastian walked over to him. "Santana left us a concerning message. You ok?" He asked. "She- ...yeah. I'm fine." I shrugged. Simon walked to me and took the ball again. "No. You're not. I'm sorry I didn't invite you today. I didn't think it meant that much to you. You never even met my mom! I really just wanted you to actually spend today with a living mother." He explained. I smiled. "I'd rather be with you, dad." I admitted. Simon chuckled. "That's good to know. Now! How come you think we don't have much in common?" He raised an eyebrow. "What do you mean?" I asked, confused. Simon spun the ball on his finger. "Where do you think you got that skill from? I'm gay Connor, but I can still dunk your ass." He smirked. I laughed and tried to take the ball, but he swiped it away. "Try me." He said. I smirked. "Game on, dad." I agreed.

Later that night, when all the girls started getting home from their days out with their moms, I suited up and left. I used my grapple to swing myself halfway across town, in the middle of the night. I stopped at the store along the way. Then I landed in the grass and slowly made my way through the field. When I got to the stone, I smiled and took off my hood. Then I set the flowers I bought on the grave. "Sorry I'm late. Happy Mother's Day grandma. I have so much to catch you up on." I smiled and sat down in front of her.
