Lizz's POV
I had been trying to come up with a way to ask Kara out, and then the school announced the homecoming dance. So I thought maybe, if I make a big gesture, she won't just think that I want to go as friends. "Kara? Kara!" I walked around the house, trying to find her. "Lizz! There you are!" She ran over to me in her super suit. "Is something wrong?" I asked. "Kind of? Get suited up. Santana caught three of the robbers and now you and I are going to interrogate them." She explained. "Santana? Like... your sister?" I asked. Kara sighed. "Yeah I know. Weird, right? Just hurry up and meet me in the lab." She said. I sighed heavily as she walked away, and heard someone laugh behind me. I raised an eyebrow and turned around. "Looks like you'll have to wait for your sweetheart." Kat smirked. I frowned. "Why are you even here? Go find your own partner!" I groaned. "There's a girl that's stalking me. I might play into her game and see where it goes." Kat chuckled. "What?! That's- nevermind. Why are you here?" I asked. "Oh, the thirty two versions of us have started hanging out with that world's Kara. So I'm hiding." She explained. "Gotcha. You wanna come interrogate some idiots?" I asked. "Sure." Kat shrugged and followed me.
"Sonar! Finally! Oh... hi Radar. Why are you here?" Kara asked. "Nice to see you too, Red Rover. Who are we dealing with?" Kat asked. "Three out of four of the robbers. We got the twins and the fox boy." Kara explained. "Are we isolating them?" I asked. "No. It shouldn't be that hard to get them to talk." Kara replied. We followed her into the glass cell they had been put in. "Hey! What gives?!" The girl snapped. She ran at us, but we put a force field around ourselves. "Now's not the time or place for that, and you know it. So stop trying." I spat. She rolled her eyes and walked back to the boys. "Do you have any idea the trouble you've caused?" Foxy asked. "We could ask you the same thing." Kara huffed. "Our boss will tear the city limb from limb to get what she wants, and she's almost got all the money she needs to make it happen." He snapped. "What are you talking about? What is she planning?" Kara asked. He just raised an eyebrow at her, mocking her, as if it would be that easy. "Girls, let's not be rude! Let's get introduced first!" Kat smiled. She walked right up to him and ripped his mask off of his face. "Ah! Hey!" He snapped. Then she did the same to the girl and to Lucas. I tilted my head in confusion. "They look familiar." I noted. Kara sighed and nodded. "Cause they are. Seriously, you guys? Did your dad not tell you?" She asked. "What?" They were confused. "Lucas, April, and Peyton. They're Accelerators kids." Kara explained. "Oh yeah! I haven't seen them in forever. Wait, when did they have him?" I pointed at Peyton. His ears fell back in annoyance. "He's adopted. Radar, call Accelerator. He needs to come pick up his kids." Kara said. Kat left and Peyton walked to us. "I don't know who you are or what you're talking about, but our dad isn't a super hero." He spat. "Isn't he? Or did he just want to protect you?" I asked. Kara took off her mask. "Kara?! Shit!" April shrieked. "Why are you guys doing this? What's in it for you?" Kara asked. "Safety, mostly." April admitted. "April!" The boys yelled at her. "Oh come on! She's our friend! I'm not gonna lie to her!" April snapped.
We took April to a separate room. "Our boss wasn't exactly clear on what she wanted. She just said that she needed the money so she could 'rebuild,' but I don't know what that means." April shrugged. "You don't know her name?" I asked. She shook her head. "What did you three get out of working with her?" Kara asked. "Protection. She has this machine... bigger than anything I've ever seen before! I know she wants to use it at some point, but not on the city. Whatever she wants, it's really specific." April explained. "Could that be what she's rebuilding?" I asked. "No. Cause that thing works perfectly! She used it to scare the boys and I into helping her. If I had to guess, I'd say she's making a second one." She replied. Just then, Accelerator ran in. "You've got to be kidding me." He groaned. "Hey uncle August." Kara waved. "Dad! You really are a superhero?!" April shrieked. "Yeah, and you are in so much trouble." He snapped. April gulped. "I'm sorry! I didn't wanna get crushed by the dinosaur!" She exclaimed. "Dinosaur?" I asked. "Yeah! The machine! It's a big dinosaur robot!" April replied. August froze for a second. "You saw a dinotron?" He asked. "Mhm. She used it to get us in line. I'm sorry dad." April nodded. He didn't respond. He just slowly looked over at me. "Go tell the matrix, now. Go straight to Gabe. If your feathered foe somehow has a working dinotron, and is making a second one, then we're all screwed." August said. "Not just one." April added. We looked at her. "She's making an army." She said. August looked back at us and we nodded. "On it! Let's go!" I took Kara's hand and we ran out.
"Uncle Gabe! Uncle Arc!" Kara yelled. We flew straight to their office. Before we got to the door though, Arc teleported right in front of us and blocked it. "He's in a meeting." He said. "Pink Wings has a dinotron!" I exclaimed. His eyebrows shot up. "One second." He teleported into the office. We just stood there for a moment. "Hey, while we have a second, I wanted to ask you something." I told Kara. She looked over at me. "Sure. What's up?" She asked. "What?!" Gabe yelled. We looked over as the door swung open and Gabe ran out. Arc came to us. "To the matrix. Let's go." He gestured for us to follow Gabe, and we did.
Zephyr wasn't here, but Zane was freaking out right along with Gabe. "Another army of dinotrons? We're so fucked!" Gabe groaned. "But there's more of us now. Surely that makes a difference." I said. "It took six people to take down just one of those things. The last time we had an army of them, Techna was able to shut it down before it got bad. That won't happen this time. There are more of us, but it's not enough." Gabe explained. "Should we call Techna? It has to be one of her old ones, or maybe her blueprint. She might know how to stop it." Arc suggested. "Yes. Zane, please call her. Tell her it's an emergency. Did April tell you anything else?" Gabe asked. "She said that she didn't know who her boss was, and that whatever she wants is very specific. She doesn't want to take over the city or anything. Whatever she wants is personal." Kara explained. Gabe nodded. "Ok. Thank you, girls. I'll have to come up with a simulation for you kids to know what we're up against. In the meantime, warn The Arrows. We're gonna need their help." He said. Kara nodded. "I'll call Ella when I get home." She agreed. "And I'll tell Kat." I added. "Thank you, now go home. I... I need to think for a minute." Gabe groaned.
When we got home, Kara plopped down in bed. "Ugh! I'm so tired." She groaned. "Me too, hey! Are you planning on going to homecoming?" I asked. She hummed in thought. "Maybe. Depends if I'll have to be Santana's cock blocker or not." She said. I laughed a little. "I doubt that. She seems to be doing good for herself recently." I admitted. "That doesn't mean she won't be hit on a ton." Kara replied. "I'll have Kat fill in for you. How's that?" I asked. She smiled. "Thanks." She huffed a laugh and looked down at her phone. I smiled and took a step closer to the bed. "So... I was thinking. Maybe... if you wouldn't mind... would you be my date to the dance?" I asked, nervously. Kara didn't even look over. "Yeah. That's what I figured we'd do." She shrugged. I blinked a few times. "No, you're not getting it. Kara, I want you to be my date. Like, my actual date." I explained. She raised an eyebrow at me. "Why? You need to practice the marriage facade early?" She laughed and looked back at her phone. I frowned and took a deep breath. "You're not understanding. I'm asking you on a date!" I exclaimed. "Yeah I got that. Do you want to get dinner before the dance or something?" She asked, confused. I groaned and snatched her phone away. "Hey!" She sat up. "I'm not kidding, Kara! This isn't a part of the facade! And maybe I'm throwing my chance away at getting married to survive here, but I actually like you, Kara. And I really want to go out with you. For real! You've been my best friend forever, and when I said I wouldn't mind marrying you, I meant it! So I'm asking you to be my date for the homecoming dance. I'm asking you to go on an actual date with me." I explained. Kara just stared at me for a moment, and then slowly smiled. She stood up and took her phone. "Yeah. I got it the first time, Lizz. I said yes." She giggled. I blinked again. "I can't tell if you really understand what I'm saying or not." I groaned. She smiled. "Lizz, I care about you more than any of my other friends. And I don't say anything, because it's awkward! But... I miss you when you're not around, and I talk about you when I'm with Ella, and I think about you all day, and honestly... I'm most happy when I wake up or come home to you. It's just weird since we've known each other so long, and I don't really know how to tell you these things without making it awkward. That's why I volunteered to marry you." She admitted. I smiled and took her hand in mine. "I feel the same. I don't know how this is supposed to work, but I'm willing to try for you." I replied. Kara smiled and rolled her eyes. "Ew. That was bad. Not a good line." She patted my shoulder and sat back down on her bed. "So... you'll go with me?" I asked. "I said yes like three times, dumbass." She groaned. I huffed a laugh and climbed the ladder up to the top bunk.
