Santana's POV
Luckily, my arm didn't break, but the burns were really bad, so I still needed a sling. "Santana!" Connor ran to me in the matrix. I laughed as he hugged me, and wrapped my good arm around him. "Are you alright? What happened to you?!" He exclaimed. I giggled and pulled away. "I got blasted! But I'm ok. Are you?" I asked. "Yeah. Just a few bruises. One of those enemies broke my bow though! Can you believe that? Now I'm gonna have to get used to a new one." He rolled his eyes and showed me the two pieces. I chuckled. "You could just ask." I waved my hand over it, and mended the bow. "Ha! Oh yeah. I forget you can do that." He admitted. I huffed a laugh and kissed his cheek. "What happened on the spire, Santana? You were there. Surely you figured this all out." He said. I rolled my eyes. "Yeah, but I'm sure Kara will spin it as her own." I grumbled. "What?" Connor asked. "Nothing. Yes, I know what happened. They said that war had been going on for ages? Well the spell had always been active. It was just transferred to a new person's magic as the generations passed. Heather was the caster for that generation, but she was also under the spell of the previous. Since her magic was intertwined with the old one, it lingered on her, like it was a part of her." I explained. "How did you guys even break the spire?" He asked. "Oh! We threw her at it." I smiled. Connor just stared at me for a moment. "What?" He asked. I smiled and shook my head. "Doesn't matter. Now that Earth twenty six is rebuilding itself, they could be a strong ally in the future. Aurelia agreed to help us as much as she could." I explained. "That's great! We're just wracking up other worlds, aren't we?" He smirked, and I laughed. "Yeah. Hey, do you mind if I stay with you tonight? I don't really feel like going home." I said. "Yeah! Yes, that'd be great! If you're there then my dads won't be up my butt!" He smiled. I huffed a laugh. "Glad I can help." I replied.

Cleo's POV
As everyone was getting ready to head home, a portal opened in the matrix. We all stopped to watch the Fates step out. "Congratulations heroes! This will come back to help you later. In any case, you should enjoy the time you have now. Your next threat will be a long one, but you have time." Cal smiled at us. I raised an eyebrow at Alex and she winked at me. "Also, via Retro's ask for 'insurance,' we have a gift for you!" Cal added. Then all three held out their hands, and everyone's minor wounds were instantly healed. "Thank you, Fates." Retro smiled. "No problem. Have a safe trip home." Cal opened the portal again, and they all left.

Kat drove me home, and I smiled as I walked in the door. My first real battle as a superhero, and I finally felt like I was doing something right for once. When I walked into the living room though, my mom was standing there, waiting for me. My ears perked up as I saw her. "Hi mom! You're home early." I noted. Khloe simply held out her hand, and I noticed she was wearing a black glove. My arm suddenly shot up, and my bracelet slipped right off of me and into her hand. Then it turned back into my staff and Khloe furrowed her brows. My jaw dropped and I took a step back. "What have you been up to, Spark Hound?" She asked. My eyes widened. "Mom, I'm so sorry. Please let me explain." I started. Khloe rested the stick on her shoulder. "Why should I listen to you? You stole from me. You lied to me. You've been putting yourself in danger for almost a year!" She shouted. My ears drooped down and my tail tucked between my legs. "And here I thought my biggest issue was your sister's shitty boyfriend, but you? I expected more from you, Cleo." She snapped. "But Paws is protecting me! Her kids are protecting me! I can protect myself!" I exclaimed. "Paws? Apollo knew about this?!" She snapped. "Mom, you can't be mad at her. This was my decision! I like being a superhero!" I told her. "You're not a superhero! You're a girl with a stick. Are you going to stand there and act like you can protect yourself without this? Because I know you can't!" Khloe yelled. "Yes I can!" I exclaimed. "No! You can't! Now. This doesn't belong to you, and if I ever hear that Spark Hound is on the news again... I will make sure you can never hold this staff for the rest of your life." She snarled. I dropped my head. "Ok mom." I sighed. "Go to your room." She spat, and walked away.

I laid in my bed for a couple hours, before I heard a portal open behind me. "You know, I was hoping you'd call after I winked at you, but I guess you didn't get the signal." Alex said. I couldn't turn to face her. "Go away, Alex. I'm grounded." I whined. "Pfft- what for?" She asked. "Don't you already know?" I asked. "I try not to look into the lives of people I care about, unless it's about business." She explained. "Our business is what got me grounded. My mom figured out that I was Spark Hound." I explained. "Oh. She didn't take it well?" She asked. "I'm banned from the super-life." I groaned. "Oh yeah. That sucks." Alex walked around my bed and leaned down to face me. "Maybe it's for the best. No good superhero gives up so easily just to mope in bed." She said. I glared at her. "What do you want me to say?! I tried to reason with her, but she won't listen!" I groaned. "If she won't listen to you, then you don't have to listen to her either." Alex sat down on my bed. "What do you mean?" I asked. She placed my staff down beside me and my eyes widened. I sat up in shock. "Where did you get this?! Mom's gonna kill me!" I shrieked. "Relax. It's not hers. I made a copy of it for you. This one will only respond to you, and no one can take it from you unless you give it to them." She explained. My jaw dropped as I sat down properly. I reached out to take it, and it magically shot into my hand. "Ha! It's like I have magic!" I laughed. "The staff is a part of you now. Listen Cleo. She can't take this away from you. I see how happy it makes you, and I won't let anyone stop you. You were made for this." Alex told me. I smiled up at her and leaped over to hug her.

"What would I do without you?" I mumbled. Alex chuckled and hugged me back. "I could ask you the same question." She admitted. I pulled back from her. "I mean it, Alex. I can't begin to imagine not having you around." I smiled, and my tail wagged. "Lucky for you, I'll be around for a while." She joked. I laughed and shook my head. "No I mean... Alex, will you be my girlfriend?" I asked. She was taken back. "Did you just... are you... really?!" She shrieked. I smiled nervously and nodded. "Holy Hades! I've been working for a year to get you to like me! Yes!" She cheered and hugged me again. I laughed and squeezed her tighter. "Cleo! Are you talking to someone?" I heard my sister from the other side of the door. Alex and I panicked as it opened. "Claire... don't freak out." I said. She just stared at us for a second. Then she checked to make sure mom wasn't behind her, and looked back at me. "Mom told me what happened. Get out of here while you have the chance." She spat. I was taken back. "Seriously?" I asked. "Your girlfriend is magic right? Well, go with her! I, for one, think you're a great superhero." She said. I smiled and summoned my stick. "Thank you, Claire." I told her. "You can stay in the portal house. Come on, Cleo." Alex stood up and opened a portal. I got up, and took her hand as we went through it.
