Kai's POV
On Monday morning, we finally arrived on Teen Island. "Hey horns! Wake up! We're here!" Quinn slapped me awake. "Ah! What the fuck!? You're gonna be a horrible mother!" I spat. "Damn. Personal." Quinn was taken back. She helped me up and we stepped off of the boat. The dock was empty, and so was most of the entrance. "I could have sworn this place had more people living on it." I noted. We walked into what looked like a farmers market. "It's a big island. Who knows where they are?" Quinn shrugged. "Oh hey! Look!" I grabbed her shoulder and pointed over. Emma was talking to some boy. "Ok we have to make a plan. How do we get her to come with us?" I asked. "Easy. Leave it to me. I used to do this on the daily." Quinn smirked. Emma started walking away, and Quinn started following her. "I don't like that. What did you mean by that? Quinn!" I ran after her. Quinn snuck up behind Emma, and quickly swung her arm around her chest. Emma squealed, and Quinn slapped a handkerchief over her mouth. Emma slowly stopped struggling and dropped to the ground. "What the hell?!" I shrieked. "Got her! Let's go!" Quinn hoisted Emma onto her shoulder. "You just have that in your pockets?" I asked. "Yeah? Why?" Quinn asked. I stared at her for a moment. My mouth opened, but I shook my head and closed it. "Nevermind. Let's get out of here." I replied.
Quinn charted a course for home, and I tied Emma to a chair. After a few hours, she woke up, and we walked over to her. "Good morning!" I smiled. "Ah! What the-?! Let me go! Who are you people?! Where am I?!" Emma shrieked. "Damn spell." I groaned. Quinn raised an eyebrow at me and I returned the look. "You really don't know who we are?" Quinn asked. "No! Get me off this fucking boat!" Emma snapped. Quinn squinted at her and turned to me. "None of the others our age were affected, except Riley." She explained. My eyebrows shot up and I glared over at Emma. My eyes started glowing as I scanned over her. "Hey! Stop that! It's an invasion of privacy! You're in my personal bubble!" Emma crossed her legs in the chair. "You better shut up before I pop that bubble." Quinn snapped. "Emma, you have no traces of magic on you. You're not spelled. Why are you acting like this?" I asked. "Ha! Knew it!" Quinn pointed at her. Emma frowned and rolled her eyes. "Oh shut up, Quinn!" She spat. "You do know us! What was that all about?" I asked. Emma just stared at us for a minute. "Nothin." She smiled and quickly snapped out of the ropes. Then she lassoed Quinn and I together, and ran to the side of the boat. "What the-? Hey!" Quinn shouted. Emma plunged into the water and started swimming away. I simply lifted my finger, and the rope disappeared. Then I levitated Emma out of the water and held her still. "Ah! Argh- hey! Put me down!" Emma yelled. I flipped her upside-down and lowered her to face me. "This is very physically restricting." She noted. "You don't say." I smirked and dropped her onto the deck. She huffed when she hit the ground and slowly pulled herself back up. "Tell us what's going on." I ordered. Emma opened her mouth, only to spin back around and bolt for the water again. Quinn ran after her and snatched her up right as she jumped. Emma kicked her feet in the air and groaned in annoyance. "Stop it you crazy bitch! You're white! You can't swim!" Quinn shouted. "Bitch so are you!" Emma yelled back. "Emma! We need you to save Riley! Don't you want that?!" I snapped. "Of course I do! But Riley's safer without me!" Emma broke out of Quinn's grasp. "How?" I asked. "Because Henry will kill me if he finds out I escaped, and then god knows what he'll do to Riley." She explained.
I wrapped a towel around Emma and she sat down. "She can't go on like this though. It isn't real! And we aren't the only ones awake!" I smiled. "Yeah. Amber and the others are saving the heroes as we speak." Quinn nodded. Emma shook her head. "Then we're all doomed. Do you want to know how this spell works? Henry explained it to me." She said. We sat down across from her to listen. "Everyone is living in a false perception of time. A timeline where The Arrows never existed. One where Riley was never sent to Teen Island. The memory spell can only affect those in the parents generation, which is why they trapped all the kids. It's why you have your memories. Riley's spell is separate from the rest." She explained. "Why did he tell you all of this?" I asked. "To make it that much more cruel. I don't remember everything because of my age. I'm a part of Riley's spell. Not Kayla and Regina's. No, I can remember everything, because it's my punishment. To make me suffer, I get to remember what's real, and not have any way to do something about it." Emma explained. "But you can! We're bringing you home." Quinn replied. "At what cost? He promised to kill me, guys. Do you know how horrifying it was? To have your fate sealed right in front of you?" She asked. I smiled softly. "If there's one thing you can believe from me, it's that some mortal guy isn't the sealer of your fate. You are, and you can still fix this. Come on." I stood up and held out my hand to her. Emma sighed and grabbed it. "Great! I'll have the boat drive itself back to the docks. Let's go home!" I opened a portal. "Wait! Why'd I have to drive us here then?!" Quinn snapped. "Shut up Quinn. Get in the portal." I spat. She groaned and slumped through it.
Emma's POV
Kai insta-dried me after we got through the portal. "Emma! You guys did it!" Lila cheered. "Oh thank Hades! Now you can save Riley!" Retro smiled at me. "It's not so simple. If I go anywhere near her, it's on sight! We have to come up with something so that I don't die, preferably." I replied. "Oh crap. Ok. Don't worry, Emma. We won't let anything happen to you." Retro assured me. I smiled crookedly. "Tell them about the memory thing." Kai bumped my shoulder. "Oh! You have to be careful when you find Zill and Alex. David is prepared to kill them too! Zill and Green both kept their memories, just like I did, as a punishment. Then they trapped each of us away from our partners, so that we could suffer." I explained. Sky and Addison looked horrified. "Do you know where they are?" Retro asked. "No, I'm sorry. It all depends on where they'd be without Red and Gold." I replied. "Prison. My mom is probably in prison." Sky sighed heavily. "Honestly, I wouldn't be surprised if mine was too." Addison added. "Ok. Sky, Addy, try to find something on Zill and Green. I'll help you come up with something, Emma. In the meantime, Kai, can you take Quinn to the matrix? Kat is worried about her." Retro said. "Oh shit! Kat!" Quinn panicked. "On it! Let's go, mafioso!" Kai opened a portal and kicked Quinn into it. "Bye, Emma. Good luck!" Kai left.
Retro thought for a while before she came up with something. "Ok. We don't have much time anymore. This has gone on for too long. I have to go save my dad. Ella is going to hold things down here until the others get back. Lila, Mia, and Josh will go with you to get Riley. They'll protect you." Retro explained. I glanced back at the three of them. "Relax. We've got you covered." Lila crossed her arms. I looked back at Retro. "If you say so." I huffed. "Just be careful, and if anything goes wrong, just bring out some of that teen bandit that Riley likes to brag about. I'm sure you'll be fine." Retro smiled and walked away. I took a deep breath and sighed. "Do we know where she is?" I turned to Lila. Mia pulled out her phone and showed it to me. "The matrix has been tracking her since this started. You ready to go?" She asked. I took another deep breath. "Yeah... yeah ok." I nodded.
Lila stayed outside to guard the front, while Mia and Josh came with me to Riley's apartment. "He shouldn't be home. You can knock." Mia whispered. I nodded and knocked on the door. No one answered though. "Are we sure she's here?" I asked. "Positive." Mia nodded. "Alright. I know what she's doing. Stand back." I cracked my knuckles. "Um... why don't you just try knocking again?" Josh asked. "That's not how I taught her." I huffed. Then I jumped up and smashed my foot into the door. It flew inside and hit the wall. "Riley! Guess who's home?!" I shouted. Josh and Mia's jaws dropped. A gun shot went off beside me, and I tilted my head out of the way. Then I smiled over at the bedroom doorway. "Who are you? Get out of my apartment!" Riley shouted. Her hands shook against the gun. "Your memories are gone, but your instincts remain. You know that you know me, don't you?" I asked. She squinted at me and I laughed. "Sorry about this, babe." I ran at her and she fired again. I ducked under her bullet and snatched the gun from her hand. "You really are better with a bow." I noted. "What are you talking about!?" Riley swung her fist at me, and I ducked back away from her. She kept trying to swing at me, and I simply stepped around her. "You may have beat my time on the training grounds, but you'll never beat me, Riley." I laughed. "Who even are you!?" She snapped. "Let me show you!" I flung my arms around her, and she quickly spun around to try and break away. So I just held her back tightly against my chest. "Do you need help?" Mia asked. "Nope! I got it!" I groaned. Riley squirmed around in my grasp, but couldn't leave. She glanced back at me for a second, and then tried to slam her head back into mine. I moved my head just in time, and hers fell back onto my shoulder. I wasted no time to reach over and kiss her. Riley suddenly melted into my body, and I scooped her up. "Let's go. Quickly!" I ran back to the door.
As soon as we got into the hall, all the lights went out. "Not so fast, bandit!" We heard. I spun around just as Henry blasted at me with electricity. I jumped out of the way and swung Riley over my shoulder. "I warned you about this. Shame on me for giving you any pity." Henry slowly stepped forward. "Now you help! Now help would be good!" I panicked. Josh shot an arrow at him, and he ducked, but he stood up just in time to get shot by Mia's arrow. He screamed in pain, and the lights started to flicker. "Out! Now! Come on!" I ran to the stairs and they followed. We bolted down to the parking lot. "Lila! Start the car! He's here!" Mia shouted. "What?! I didn't even see him!" Lila got in the car and we all rushed in behind her. "Drive and don't look back!" I ordered. Lila slammed on the gas and we sped back to HQ.
