Riley's POV
"So how did they even catch you guys, mom?" Sky asked. Gold frowned and rolled her eyes. "We got gassed out, cause someone wasn't paying attention on patrol!" She yelled, and Lime flicked her off. We walked into HQ and I took a deep breath. It felt nice to be home. "Riley! Let me scan you! I wanna make sure you're ok!" Retro ran over to me. "What? I'm fine!" I shoved her back. "Can you blame her for worrying?" Emma asked. I sighed and looked back at Retro. "I get it. I disappeared for two months and came back dressed in leather. I understand your concern, but I'm fine Retro. I promise." I told her. Retro sighed heavily. "I just... I missed you." She said. I smiled at her and sighed. "Come here." I waved her over. She walked to me and I hugged her. "I missed you too." I replied. "Babe?" Emma asked. I pulled away and looked over at her. "Where am I going?" She asked, confused. I huffed a laugh. "This way. I'll show you my room." I smiled.
"You can put your things wherever. There should be some room in the closet for you, but I'll make some more later." I said. "I have one bag, Riley. It's not that big of a deal. Besides, you shouldn't be worrying about me. Your friends have been worried about you for months! You have to go be with them." Emma told me. "How could I not worry about you, Emma? You just gave up your entire livelihood to be here with me, and it's not like you have any actual family to go back to! I just want to make sure that you can find a place here, because trust me, I know how hard it is." I explained. "Thanks babe, and I will! But it's been two hours. You could at least let me take a breath." Emma huffed. I smiled and shook my head. "You'll find that's not as easy as it sounds here. But I guess you're right. I'll go talk to everyone. I'm so happy you're here." I smiled. Emma kissed my cheek. "I'm happy to be here with you, now go." She replied. I nodded and walked back into the live room.
When I walked back out, there were two girls here. "Riley! Do you remember Kat? I don't know that you really officially met." Retro introduced me. "Uh, no! But, nice to meet you." I walked to her and shook her hand. "You too. Anyways, I want to make sure your portals are working perfectly. I used to do it for the thirty twos all the time, but now I live here." Kat explained. "Oh sure! They're with our parents. Come with me. Riley, you should come too. Zill wants to talk about your boat." Retro said. I gulped. "She does?" I asked, nervously. "Yeah. Good luck explaining this one." She huffed.
Quinn's POV
Kat brought me with her to meet her friends, but then Retro pulled her away. So now I was left alone in this room with the other kid Arrows. Most of them were in their rooms, and the few that weren't, didn't notice I was here. Not until another girl stepped out of her room. I looked over as the door opened and she raised an eyebrow at me. "You're not an Arrow." She said, confused. "And neither are you. I'm Quinn. My girlfriend is friends with these people." I explained. "Oh same! I'm Emma." She smiled politely. "So, I'm pretty new to this whole superhero thing. How do you go about seeing her in danger all the time?" I asked. "Well, I've been here for exactly two and half hours, so I have no idea." Emma shrugged. "You just got here?" I asked. "Yeah. I lived on Teen Island, and I was the leader of the teen bandits, but I gave it all up to stay here with Riley." She explained. My eyes widened. "You gave all of that up? Why? How could you just move on so quickly?" I asked, astounded. "That's what Teen Island is for. To teach kids to move on when they're ready. I probably could have used a few more years there, but I've seen the story before. I knew I'd be nothing there without her." She explained. "I get that. Kat is the first person that I think might actually get me. I don't want to be without her, but don't you miss your home?" I asked. "Are you kidding?! With my whole being! But I'm not in charge anymore, and I have to accept that. I'm not the main character of my story anymore. She is, and she's worth it." Emma smiled. I smiled back at her. "Yeah. She better be." I agreed.
A loud warping noise exploded behind me and I jumped back. A portal opened, and a demon with red horns and blue hair dropped out. "Oh! Hello new people. Where is Retro?" She asked. "With her parents, I think? Who are you?" I asked. "I'm Kai, princess of Hell. Granddaughter to the Hades. And my girlfriend is one of the legendary Fates! She's also Retro's cousin, and she likes to send me as a messenger of sorts." She explained. "Woah woah, wait. You're telling me you're the descendant of a Greek god?!" Emma asked. "I mean... technically everyone is, but yes. Oh! Mortals have a hard time believing that, I remember. I can stab myself if that will prove it to you. Plus, I'd do anything to just feel something at the moment, so I really don't mind." Kai replied. "No! No, please don't!" Emma begged. "Yeah, I could live without seeing that." I agreed. "Fine." She rolled her eyes. "Isn't there a messenger god?" Emma asked. "Yes! But he's a bitch! And he only works for the heavenly gods. Not us hellish beings." Kai explained. "That's... insane. This is insane!" I exclaimed. "What's insane is that you haven't introduced yourselves. That's rude, you know." Kai smirked. I rolled my eyes. "I'm Quinn. That's Emma." I replied. "Nice to meet you." Kai smiled.
Retro, Kat, and Riley came back a few minutes later. "Kai! What's going on?" Retro ran to her. Kat came over to me and Riley went to Emma. "Zill was really confused about the boat." She mumbled. "Yeah, so was I." Emma huffed. "You know gods?" I asked Kat. She shrugged. "I can't find anything like this strange anymore. Just go with it." Kat patted my shoulder. "Hey Retro! Cal says that your parents should be expecting an incoming call very soon from another Earth. It's very important that they answer the call and go to aid them." Kai explained. "She couldn't have texted that?" Retro asked. "I've come to the conclusion that Cal can't use a phone. Planning dates with her is awful. She just shows up at my house and drags me out the door." Kai replied. "You got yourself into that mess." Retro shrugged. Kai sighed heavily. "Yeah I know. If she wants to stay on Earth, she might as well just say that. I'm getting really tired of hoping back and forth. She can do that herself." Kai sighed. Emma and I shared a quick glance. "Kai? Was it?" I asked. She looked over at me. "Let's talk." I smiled. Emma followed as I pulled her away.
"Welcome to the club, demon scum!" I smiled. "Sorry?" Kai asked. "I just left all the friends and family that I've ever known to be here." Emma explained. "And I'm from another universe where I also had to leave the mafia that I was the heir to." I added. Kai's eyebrows shot up. "And we did it just for our girlfriends! Seems like you're in a similar boat." Emma said. "Uh... I guess, but it's not like I'm mad at her." Kai frowned. "Oh we're not mad. It's just hard to get used to this way of life. Isn't it?" I asked. Kai glanced to the side. "Yeah. It's not the greatest." She agreed. "Well, you're not alone, and I for one am glad to not be alone in this endeavor." Emma admitted. "Preach." I nodded. Kai smiled. "You two are funny." She chuckled. "See you around then?" I asked. Kai raised an eyebrow in thought, but then nodded. "Yeah. I'll see you." She replied.
