Kara's POV
"Get back here!" Lizz ran after me. "It needs to be washed!" I snapped back. I ran into the garage and dunked her super suit into the washer. Then I slammed it shut and turned it on. Lizz ran in behind me and I smirked. "Too late." I crossed my arms. "I hate you." She huffed. I smiled and put my hand on her shoulder. "No you don't." I patted her shoulder and walked back inside. I heard her transform behind me and start flying after me. I turned around just in time for her to crash right into me, shoving me onto the floor. Then she landed on my stomach in her ferret form. She was mostly black with bits of white, just like her dad. I groaned in pain. "Seriously, Lizz?" I asked. "Mess up my laundry schedule again. You'll get dropped from the roof instead." She snapped. I groaned and rolled my eyes. "Got it." I huffed. She jumped off of me and changed back to her human form. Then she held out her hand and helped me up. "What the hell are you two doing?" I heard. We looked over and Aurelia raised an eyebrow. "Hi mom. Just some laundry." I smiled. She looked at Lizz, then me, and blinked a few times. "Right. Ok. Where's your sister? She still hasn't mowed the lawn." She said. "How should I know? She doesn't tell me anymore than she tells you. My best guess? She's off with another guy." I rolled my eyes. Aurelia sighed. "I'd love to think you're wrong. Anyways! Lizz, your dad was calling you." She pointed behind her. "Which one?" Lizz asked. "Both. Zed just portaled in." She replied. "Is Kat here?!" Lizz smiled. "Yeah, now go." Aurelia pointed again. Lizz shrieked happily and ran off. Aurelia looked back at me after she left. "You want me to find Santana?" I asked. "If you wouldn't mind, and if you can't find her, will you mow the lawn? I'll pay you extra." She offered. I nodded. "I'll see if I can find her." I agreed.
I didn't know where Santana was, but I knew who would. So I rode my bike over to Blaire's house. I knocked on her door, and her mom answered. "Hey Lydia. Is Blaire home?" I asked. "Yeah, and yes, Santana is with her." Lydia chuckled. I sighed. "Thanks." I walked in and ran upstairs to Blaire's room. I knocked on her room door. "Come in!" She yelled. I walked into the room to find Blaire doing her workout on the floor, while Santana lounged back on her bed. "Uh oh. Hey Satan, your parole officer is here." Blaire laughed. Santana glanced up at me and groaned. "What do you want?" She asked. "Mom needs you to mow the lawn." I said. "You couldn't have texted me that?" She asked. "Mom texted you that. Both of them!" I exclaimed. She raised an eyebrow and looked back at her phone. "Oh yeah. I guess they did." She huffed a laugh. I rolled my eyes. "Chill out. I'll do it later." Santana shrugged. "Mom seemed upset about it. You really need to do it now." I said. She laughed and levitated up off the bed. She flew over and landed in front of me. "Look. Just because you're a goody two shoes that enjoys fighting people in spandex and listening to every rule in the book, doesn't mean that I am. I could care less that mom is upset about some grass. So why don't you bike on home, and do it yourself." She poked my chest and then pushed past me.
Blaire stood up and went to follow her. I grabbed her arm. "Blaire, you're a super hero with me! You have to understand. I'm not crazy, am I?" I asked. She shook her head. "No, but neither is she. Not everyone has the knack for heroism like us, and being the first daughter of Paws and Aethra isn't exactly an easy title to have. Try to give Santana some slack. She's not perfect by any means, but she's trying to find a balance, just like the rest of us." Blaire explained. "Balance? By fucking half the school?" I asked. Blaire sighed. "Yeah I got nothing to defend that. Just go mow the lawn. She's not gonna do it." She walked past me. I slapped my hand over my head and wiped it down my face. Then I sighed heavily and went back home.
Lizz's POV
"Hey dad! Kat! You came!" I ran up to her and hugged her. She smiled and hugged me back. "Yeah! Dad said he needed both of us." She said. I looked over at Charlie and Zed. "What did you need us for?" I asked. "Well, I know that we've been warning you since you were kids, but now the time is getting closer and it's becoming more worrisome." Charlie explained. "Yes, you two are going to be sixteen soon, and if you don't marry someone, you will be executed due to the Tublo law." Zed added. "Oh yeah! Remember when those lunar idiots didn't understand that we were identical twins, so they thought dad sent the same picture twice?" Kat asked. I laughed and nodded. "Yeah I remember that. I still think it's weird cause I have black hair and black fur, and you have white hair and white fur." I said. Kat nodded. "Stupid people." She rolled her eyes. "Girls! It won't be stupid when they come down to murder you!" Zed snapped. Kat was taken back and I shrunk under his words. He sighed. "Sorry, but neither of us want to lose you. You only have two years, and both of you are still single." Zed explained. "We're getting really worried about you, and we need you girls to really try to do this. I know it's weird, but your lives are on the line. It's not a joke." Charlie said. Kat and I shared a glance. "We know dad. We'll try harder, I promise." I said. "Thank you. That being said, Kat, I know you like living your double life, switching between Earths, but do you want to stay here until this blows over?" Charlie asked. Kat's eyebrows shot up. "Hell no! I can't just drop my life on Earth thirty two because of this crap. Maybe I'll find a partner on that Earth. Who knows? It's double the chances right?" Kat shrugged. Charlie sighed. "Ok. If that's what you want." He smiled. "Thanks dad." She replied. "We'll be here for a couple days, Kat. So you can go see your friends." Zed said. "Ok. Where's Santana?" Kat asked me. I laughed in her face. "That's funny you still ask." I chuckled.
When Kara got home, she stormed into our room and punched her mattress. I peeked down at her from the top bunk. She jumped onto the bed and started beating up her pillow, groaning in frustration. I smiled and slid down the ladder. "You found her, I'm guessing?" I asked. She groaned and glared over at me. I huffed a laugh. "Relax. I mowed the lawn for you." I said. She sighed heavily and dropped her head onto the pillow. "Thank you." She mumbled. I sat down beside her and she sat up correctly. "I will never understand that bitch." She snapped. "So she was with Blaire?" I asked. Kara glared over at me and I nodded. "Figures. Kat is staying for a few days." I told her. "Oh? That's great. What'd your dads need?" She asked. "Just the final warning about our death penalty that's rapidly approaching." I sighed. Kara frowned. "What are you gonna do?" She asked. I shrugged. "I don't know. Die, apparently." I huffed. "No you won't. I wouldn't let you. I'll marry you if I have to, just as long as it keeps you alive." She smiled. "You'd do that for me?" I smiled at her. "Of course. I mean, there's a reason we still share a room in high school, even though there's a spare in the basement." She replied. "Because I'm your buffer with Santana?" I raised an eyebrow. "Yes! Exactly! And also cause you're my best friend, but mainly that first thing." She joked. I laughed a little. "You know, I wouldn't mind being married to you." I admitted. Kara just stared at me for a moment. "Ew. Gross. Go back to your bunk." She pushed my shoulder. I laughed and climbed back up the ladder.
