Lizz's POV
Cleo, Riley, and I, walked into the cell with Pepper, who was tied to a chair. "Alright Pepper, are you gonna make this easy for us?" I asked. She smiled at us. "I could, though I'm sure you don't want me to. You heroes always love the interrogation part. You say you want it easy, and then you're shocked when the truth comes quicker than you wanted it." She explained. "Are you gonna tell us or not?" I asked. She shrugged. "As far as I'm concerned, this is the end of the line for me. You all are going to end my life soon, so sure! What do you want to know?" She asked. "Where are Santana and Sky? And what do you need with them?" I asked. "Bait. We needed Sky and Addison as bait for their mothers, but Santana just got in the way. They're still at the mall with David and Henry." Pepper answered. "Who is Henry? Sawyer mentioned him too." Riley said. Pepper chuckled. "Funny you should be the one to ask, Riley. Tell me, how was your time on Teen Island? I heard you made yourself comfortable with that little bandit girl." She giggled. Riley was taken back.
"That's enough!" Cleo extended the blade from her stick and pointed it at Pepper. "Why did you turn everyone into teenagers? What do you gain from that?" Cleo snapped. "Nothing! Like I said before, we messed up the spell! It was never supposed to turn them into teenagers! It was supposed to rewrite time! So that David can live happily with his daughters again." She explained. "What?! And what's in it for you?" I asked. She sighed. "Nothing. Sawyer and I were at the wrong place at the wrong time. We were spies for Teen Island. We would check on kids in their homes, to see who needed a better life, and then Henry found us. He offered us a deal. Take Riley to Teen Island, and he would give us a real home... but he lied. He took us to David. Then he gave us these potions... they hurt so bad! And they siphoned away our magic to use for their spell." Pepper's eyes started to water. "Wait, you didn't cast the spell? They casted it with your magic?" I asked. She nodded. "You're right. The spell is still active, but not within me and Sawyer. We're linked to it, yes, but the spell is still in the mall. It's in Henry's potions room." She admitted. "And how do we stop it?" I asked. "Taking Sawyer and I's powers only cuts off our links to it, but the spell is sensitive without us. You want your parents back? Blow up the mall." She shrugged. "The spell would blow with it... but wouldn't that kill you?" I asked. "Why else would I be telling you this right now? If I'm going to die, I might as well fix what I started." She replied.
Riley seemed distraught, learning how she was sent to Teen Island, and went back to Retro to tell her. Cleo and I walked over to Kara and Zephyr. "Blow up the mall? That's the plan?" Zephyr asked, stunned. "No. We have to get Santana and Sky out before we do, and Sawyer is probably still waiting for us." I replied. "And what about David and Henry?" Zephyr asked. Kara shook her head. "They're probably long gone. If Sawyer and Pepper really messed up as badly as she said, then they won't care whether they live or die." She explained. "The good news is, we can put a power cuff on Pepper now, and use her as bait to catch her boyfriend." I added. "Ok. Here's what we'll do. Zane and I will lead our parents to take on Sawyer. Meanwhile you, Lizz, will lead Kara, Cleo, and Blaire to find the spell. Retro and her team will find Sky and Santana. I'll have Zane fetch our communicators, so you'll know when we're ready to blow." Zephyr explained. I nodded in agreement. "Sounds good. Cleo, go get a power cuff for Sawyer. Let's get ready to go." I ordered.
Zephyr's POV
The tension between our parents was thick enough to build a wall. As far as they know, they're heroes and villains working together for kids that claim to be theirs. So Zane and I were also extremely tense. There's no saying whether these people will turn on us immediately. Still, we had no other options. So we slapped a power cuff on Pepper, and shoved her into the parking lot. Paws and Zill made us invisible while she walked up. "Sawyer! I'm back!" Pepper yelled. He slowly appeared from the doorway, and smiled when he saw her. "Finally! I've been waiting forever! David and Henry ran off. It seems our 'father' ditched us. Gosh, I still can't believe they fell for that." Sawyer laughed. Pepper glanced back at us for a second. "So! What'd you find out?" He asked. She looked back at him. "We're gonna die." She admitted. "Oh yeah. I heard them talking about that too, but I'm sure we'll be fine." He shrugged. Pepper shook her head, as I signaled for The Arrows to start surrounding him. "I'm sorry." She mumbled. "Sorry for what?" Sawyer asked. "Now!" I yelled. The invisibility disappeared, and they all jumped at Sawyer, trying to get the cuff on his wrist.
He flew away from them immediately. "What the hell?!" He shrieked. "Aethra! Tie up Pepper again. Make sure she isn't going anywhere! Accelerator, go with her and make sure Sawyer can't break her out! Everyone else! Do whatever you have to in order to get that cuff on his wrist!" I ordered. Weather Vane and Paws flew up after him. "No! I won't let you make me into a lifeless corpse!" Sawyer blasted Weather Vane down. "The more we use our power, the weaker the spell gets! He'll run out of magic eventually!" Pepper told us. "Why are you helping them?!" Sawyer shrieked. "You heard her, team. Make him mad!" I ordered. Arc transformed into his glitchen form, and swirled around Sawyer's face. He tried to smack him away, but his hands went straight through him. Finally, Arc teleported away, and Paws blasted him back onto the ground while he was distracted. "I'm sorry! But there's no avoiding it now! Just give up, Sawyer!" Pepper groaned. "And let them kill us?! I'd rather die, knowing that I tried to save myself first!" He replied. The Arrows ran at him, and Gold punched him across the face. "There's no guarantee! You could survive! And if you do, we'll send you back to Teen Island. That's what you want, isn't it?" I asked. He stopped for a second, and Gold kicked him onto the ground. He landed on his stomach and groaned in pain. Zane and I teleported over to him. Zane pinned him down, and I squatted down to face him. "Let us try. We will do everything in our power to keep you two alive. We just need to stop this spell." I begged. Zane slowly slipped the cuff onto his wrist, and Sawyer sighed. "Ok." He caved. I exhaled in relief, and radioed the others. "We got Sawyer. Hurry up. I don't know how long I can keep our parents from fighting." I told them.
