Connor's POV
Retro told us the plan and took us to the warehouse where all the dead dinotrons laid. Hurricane and Talon met us there shortly after. Their shadows flew over our heads, and my eyes widened as I looked up. "Oh god. Bro, no one said they were coming!" I whisper-yelled at Max. He shrugged. "Makes sense. If one of these things rises from the dead, we'd need a power boost." He replied. I groaned to myself and looked down. "What's up with you?" He asked. "Isn't it obvious?" Sky popped up behind us. "Ah! Jesus- fucking- what the hell!?" I snapped. She laughed. "I saw you two at the dance. You like her, don't you?" She asked. "What? No! Never in a million years would I date a girl like her. I'm not going to buy her love." I crossed my arms. "But she's not like that anymore, and you know that. So now she's a lot more intriguing, isn't she?" Sky smirked. I glanced to the side. Max put his hand on my shoulder. "There's nothing wrong with it, dude. She's not the same bitch we grew up with anymore. So maybe you actually stand a shot! Plus, she seemed pretty into you too at the dance." He admitted. "You think?" I asked. "I don't know. I'm just guessing." Max shrugged. I rolled my eyes and Retro called our attention. "Alright! Everyone split up! If you find any kind of new technology or magical power source, shoot your warning arrows. We'll all come to you, ok? Good luck everyone!" She sent us on our way.

Max and I came up on one of the dormant dinotrons. There were vines growing up over it, rusted metal holes, and wires sticking out in certain places. Even lying on its side, it towered over us. "I'm gonna climb it." Max smiled. "Don't do that." I sighed. "I'm doing it." He ran up to it and used the dinosaur's teeth as steps onto its head. I frowned as I watched him get to the top, only to crash through a hole up there. I smirked as he fell inside the robot's mouth. Some of the teeth were missing, so I could see him perfectly. "Argh- that hurt." He groaned. "I bet. Anything good in there?" I asked. "I don't know! Do you have a flashlight?" He asked. "Why would I have a flashlight?" I groaned. "I don't know, but I can't see anything in here!" He replied. I rolled my eyes. "Hold on. Let me see if Sky is nearby." I said, and walked around the back of the dinotron.

It took longer than expected to walk down to the tail. "This thing is huge." I groaned. "I'll say." Santana landed beside me. "Oh! Hey Talon." I greeted her. "Hey. Where'd your boy toy go?" She asked. "He got stuck in the mouth." I pointed back at the head. Her face fell. "You're kidding." She huffed. "Nope. Now he wants to look around in there, but I don't have a flashlight." I shrugged. "Oh, well I can make one for him." Santana offered. "Ah- did my glow stick get himself stuck?" Blaire joined us. "Yeah, but I doubt he's realized that yet." I nodded. "Of course. I'll help him. Come on." Blaire rolled her eyes and we walked back to the head.

Blaire took the flashlight from Santana, and then jumped in there with Max. "Ah! Blaire?!" Max shrieked. "It's Hurricane to you, glow stick. Now come on. Let's take a look." She turned on the flashlight and they walked further into the dinotron. "Be careful!" I yelled. Santana and I waited outside. "Hey, I wanted to talk to you, Blue. I wanted to say thanks for protecting me at the dance, not that it lasted very long." Santana said. I smiled at her. "No problem. It was fun." I shrugged. "Yeah! I had a lot of fun with you. I've never really had any actual fun with a guy before." She admitted. "Honestly, I never thought that you would be a person that I would ever want to talk to." I told her. She giggled. "I don't blame you. I wouldn't have wanted to talk to me either, but it's actually nice now. I can't believe I didn't realize how closed off I was to everyone, just because of the way I acted. Having you all as friends is... more than I could have ever imagined." She admitted. I smiled and looked down. "I'm glad to be your friend." I replied. She smiled up at me, and went to say something, but was cut off by a scream. I recognized it immediately. It was Max.

Meanwhile
Blaire's POV
Max and I walked further into the dinotron. "You don't have to come with me, ya know." He said. "Sure I do, glow stick." I replied. "Can you please stop calling me that? I hate that I didn't get my dad's powers. Bailey got them so young. We were barely out of kindergarten! And everyone fawned over her... but I still haven't gotten anything." Max groaned. "But you could, right?" I asked. "Yeah. The doctors say that I have the gene, and that it just hasn't gone into effect yet." He replied. "Then you shouldn't worry so much! Look, I know how hard it is to wait. I got worried about my powers too, but eventually you'll get them, and it'll be the best moment of your life! At least, that's how it was for me." I smiled. "Really? What did you do?" Max asked. "It was the day I told my moms that I wanted to be a superhero, regardless of powers or not, and they accepted me without question. They were even going to show me how to use Lea's sword..." My smile fell as I thought about my parents. "But that was a long time ago." I shrugged. Max smiled at me. "That sounds nice." He replied.

I smiled at him and looked around. As we searched through the dark room, I noticed a puddle on the ground. "Hey, look here." I squatted down to it. "It's just water." Max huffed. I rolled my eyes. "No Lime. It came from this bottle, see?" I picked up the bottle. "And it's still got water in it. It's not deteriorated at all, which means someone brought this here recently." I explained. "Oh! So should we bring it back as evidence?" He asked. I held out my hand and used my magic to lift the water as I stood back up. "Would you look at that?" I smirked. In the middle of the water bubble, was a pink feather. "Now that is definitely evidence." Max smiled. I put all of the water, and the feather, into the bottle and handed it to Max. "We gotta get this to the matrix!" He tried to run back, but I grabbed his arm. "Wait! One second. Thanks for not pushing me at the dance, about why I was upset? Truth is, my moms have been fighting a lot lately, and there's nothing I can do to stop it. It just... pisses me off so much. But you really did help to take it off my mind for the night, so thank you." I told him. Max smiled and turned to face me. "I'm sorry that's happening to you. You don't deserve it, but I'm glad I could help. You know I'm always happy to be your distraction, Blaire." He said. I stared at him for a moment. "I'd like that... actually." I admitted. He smiled. "You're always welcome to come hang." He shrugged. My heart started racing at that moment, and my hands became sweaty. "I'd still need a reason to come over." I said. "There is always something to do at Arrows HQ. You will never be bored." He laughed. I smiled and giggled with him. "Good. I think I know what I want to do when I get there." I stepped closer and kissed him. Max stiffened immediately. "Are you ok?" I asked. His breath picked up as he smiled. "I'm better than ok!" He cheered, and with that, he started shining.

The light that flashed off of him was so bright that I backed up against the wall and squinted in pain. "Lime! Turn it off!" I laughed at the brightness. Max didn't laugh though. He screamed out in pain and fell to the ground. "Argh! Make it stop!" He screeched. "Max!" I knelt down to him, but couldn't open my eyes. "It's burning my eyes!" He yelled. "Max, hold on!" I picked him up, and struggled to stand. The light was so bright that I could hardly see a thing. I limped back to the mouth of the dinotron just as Santana broke down the teeth. "Max! What happened?!" Connor yelled. "Get Bailey! Now!" I yelled, and dropped Max in front of us. We all looked away from the blinding light as Max only got brighter. Connor ran away so he could see and shot his warning arrow into the sky. It exploded with blue smoke in the air, and the others came running to it.

"Max!" Bailey ran straight to him and helped him to stand. "I can't see! It's burning my eyes!" Max yelled. "Yeah, I know it does. Just hang on. Orange, Gold, I need a power cuff." Bailey said. Sky created one and tossed it to her. Bailey slapped it on Max's wrist and he gasped as the light faded. Then he fell backwards and rubbed at his eyes. "Oh my god. That was insane." He sighed in relief. I knelt down beside him. "I am so sorry, Max." I said. "Don't be. As far as I'm concerned, that makes this the best day of my life, right?" He laughed. I chuckled and helped him back up. "Yeah. Sure." I laughed. "We have to get you back to dad. He can help you." Bailey said. "Wait! Orange, take this." Max handed her the bottle. "Ooh- nice find, Lime! Ok, Cyan, come with me to the matrix. The rest of you, make sure Lime gets home safe." Retro said. "I'll come with you." I told Max. "Thanks, Blaire." He smiled.
