Nick's ears rang from how close the shot had been, but as she squeezed her eyes shut before opening them, she looked back quickly - seeing that the men were getting closer, but then she heard a pained grunt and looked to her side, seeing that Mark had knocked her out of the way. But he was holding his arm in pain, and she realized that the bullet hit him - causing her to quickly look back up and around, her heart racing and eyes looking around everywhere.

It had only been seconds, but she knew that time was crucial right now.

She quickly turned over and grabbed Mark's arm, pulling him up with her. "Come on, come on - We gotta go!"

He let her pull him up and the two began running through the pouring rain, quickly making their way more towards a highway - hoping that these guys would give up if there were witnesses, but then they both ducked and slipped to their knees, still holding each other - as startled noises left their lips when more gunshots went off.

Nick just quickly gripped Mark's uninjured arm and forced them back to their feet, the two stumbling out of the alleyway and quickly turning to corner - letting them hide their backs against a building, before Nick looked around them fast. She already knew she couldn't use her powers because of the bracelet, but she wasn't sure she could get close enough, or an open opportunity with the three guys that all had guns out and was definitely packing more.

"We gotta get off the street." Nick breathed out as she tried to look around them, also wanting a place that didn't have loads of people, because if these guys were willing to kidnap a kid off the street - and shoot them - she wasn't sure if they'd draw a line at a crowded place.

"Where - Where do we go?" Mark asked, out of breath as well, and still clutching his bicep, as blood was already leaking through his fingers. And she could hear the pain in his voice, so she looked around them, before leaning her head back against the wood. "I don't know, I don't..."

She trailed off when she saw what street they were at, causing her to quickly look over, before towards the alleyway - hearing the men speaking to each other, trying to find the kids, and she furrowed her eyebrows when she realized that they were speaking Spanish. She just shook it off, needing to focus right now, before she grabbed his arm again. "Come on."

The two stumbled a bit, before running across the street, quickly ducking behind multiple vehicles so that they were out of view of the men - then she ran them over and they ran down the subway stairs, slipping a few times and shoving through many people in the crowd.

"Come on, go!" She shoved him forward, when they heard shouts behind them, in Spanish, so she didn't even have to turn to know that it was the men.

But thankfully, they were kids, so they were smaller than mostly everyone else in there - which meant that the men couldn't see them.
