"I still don't get why I had to come with you." Nick said as she flew behind Sam, the thrusters on the bottom of her black boots glitching sometimes, but even though she was still scared of heights, Sam was right next to her and he'd easily be able to catch her. Thankfully, Tony and her had already fixed up her gloves, so that the thrusters on them wouldn't glitch out - but they also weren't weapons at all, it just allowed her to fly and move faster. And she only uses them whenever she's not able to use her newly enhanced bike to get wherever they needed to go.
"Because Cap said you need to break in your new toys before you can go on any mission." Sam smirked as they moved through the air, headed towards one of the newly updated warehouses that the Avengers had fixed up. He was wearing his Falcon suit, while Nick was wearing jeans, her high tech combat boots, newly high tech fingerless gloves that Tony had helped her make and design for her - since he was also working on a pair that came from a wristband and could wrap over his hand.
Her hair was pulled up into a ponytail and she was wearing a t-shirt but with a black jacket that looked similar to a rain jacket, and was wearing the new black mask that was also designed for her. Since it was time to admit she was an Avenger, but she didn't yet have a full suit.
It had been over two months since she had even gotten out of the hospital after the Sokovia event, but she still needed to work on getting trained up again - including using her arm a lot more, since it was a bit weaker after getting shot and put on timeout for the time being.
"Yet, you're the one who needed training." The 14-year-old sassed back teasingly, the earpieces in their ears blocking out the wind as they moved quickly through the sky. Eventually, the two landed on the roof, with Nick stumbling a bit after one thruster gave out a few feet off the ground - but she managed to catch her footing, while Sam landed next to her while laughing. "Graceful, shorty."
"You know what, Sammy-" She turned towards him with a glare, but he cut her off while pointing at her. "I told you not to call me that."
"Sammy, Sammy, Sammy." She mockingly said, purposefully making her voice higher, but then stopped when her earpiece started picking up on someone else's radio wave. She ignored whatever was Sam's comeback as she glanced over to the edge of the roof, not being able to see anything, but as she reached up to mess with her earpiece, she could hear someone.
"It's the Falcon and a kid."
"I'm not seeing anything that could cause the sensor trip." Sam was saying, but then his mask's screen managed to pick up on something. "Wait a second."
"Abort, Scott!" Nick heard an older man's voice, "Abort now!"
"It's okay, they can't see me." The same guy that called her 'kid' - Scott - said, causing Nick to roll her eyes and place her hands on her hips. "We can see you."
