"Okay, okay, try something else." Jeremy cheered, causing Nick to glance to him, before concentrating as she looked down at her hands. The two kids were on top the roof of his apartment building after hanging out all day, the sun was beginning to set already, and after finally accepting that she had powers and abilities, two years later, Nick had told only one person about it because she needed help with practicing.

And who better to tell than her best friend, Jeremy Calloway.

12-year-old Nicolette Mendes brought her hands together as she looked down, before she then glanced up to the setting sun, and she felt herself smile as she moved her hands, a beam of sunlight looking as though it was attracted to her hands, before she then moved them sideways and tilted her hands a bit, redirecting the sunlight so that it focused on the piece of paper in Jeremy's hand.

Nick grinned as she glanced up, "You may want to drop that."

"What? Why?" Jeremy looked up with furrowed eyebrows, but then the paper caught on fire, causing him to quickly drop it. But then he looked up at her in awe, "I can't believe you can manipulate sunlight!"

Nick smirked with a shrug, "Actually, I can manipulate any light." She then dropped her hands, before grinning. "And that's not even the coolest thing."

Jeremy's eyes widened, "How isn't it?"

"Watch this." Nick glanced down, holding out one hand and trying to clear her mind as she also focused. It used to just happen whenever she was scared. In the past two years, it was almost as though her powers were getting stronger or something, as after a while they just began showing up or doing something any time her heart began racing. From being scared, to just being nervous during a test- and even close calls whenever she was around someone she found cute or she had a crush on them.

Even one time in the car, Tony had been driving pretty fast, and even though Nick had been laughing and having a blast, there was still that part of her that was nervous, causing her heart rate to jump. Which then resulted in some random light shining into the mirror and blinding Tony for a second, thankfully though, it didn't end with a car accident.
