"Mr. President." The Mandarin spoke, his footage broadcasting all over the entire East Coast. Including on the bulletin screen overviewing the football home game, causing the game to stop as everyone looked at the screen.

Players of both teams, who had been in the middle of a play, stopped, some taking off their helmets to watch.

"Only two lessons remain. And I intend to finish this before Christmas morning." The screen then seemed to go wide, showing a man at the Mandarin's feet, and also showing the gun getting aimed at the man on the ground. "Meet Thomas Richards. Good strong name. Good strong job. Thomas, here, is an accountant for the Roxxon Oil Corporation."

The camera zoomed in on the older man in a suit, who was sobbing, obviously terrified.

"But I'm sure he's a really good guy." The Mandarin nods, and you could hear the man crying. "I'm going to shoot him in the head, live on your television in 30 seconds."

"No!" Thomas sobbed, but the Mandarin ignored him and used his hand that wasn't pointing the gun, to point at the phone next to him. "The number for this telephone is in your cell phone. Exciting, isn't it, imagining how it got there?"

There were terrified students from the school, and terrified adults, who were trying to get to their kids but others being to invested in what was playing on the large screen that used to be holding the timer, scores, and penalties.

"America, if your president calls me in the next half minute, Tom lives. Go."

Everyone, all over the world, seemed to be holding their breaths. The Williams included since they had been contacted by Pepper briefly, just long enough to let them know that Nick was alive, but no one knew where her and Tony were, which was a good thing for the moment - meaning they were believed to be safe.

Marcel was at the football game with Quincy and Benny, since Quincy had played an earlier game when it was the high schoolers. But Melissa had just exited a patients room, having gotten a nursing job, when she and many others in the hospital stopped in the waiting rooms and hallways, as the footage was getting broadcasted to every screen.

But when the phone next to the Mandarin begins ringing, the President obviously not wanting this innocent man to die in front of the world, the Mandarin just lets it ring before aiming and shooting Thomas Richards in the head, causing many gasps and sobs.

Everyone was in shock.

"There's just one lesson left, President Ellis. So run away, hide, kiss your children goodbye." The Mandarin spoke, shaking his head. "Because nothing - not your army, not your red, white and blue attack dog - can save you." Then the Mandarin stared into the camera, as if he was looking just at the President. "I'll see you soon."
