Chitauri covered the ground and sky, shooting at anything and destroying buildings.
Nick's legs ached and the bullet wound hurt, her palms stung from wire burn, but she pushed through it. The girl had to practically shove her way through panicked people, trying to think of where would be the safest place or somewhere she could hide as she ran.
People were desperately leaving their cars and rushing into buildings or running out of buildings when it was learned that it wasn't as safe as they believed. Through the panic and fear, they were shoving into others, and whenever there was a crowd, Nick tried to not get stuck in the stampede.
She eventually had ran down a street before there was a crash, causing her to cover her head from debris since an alien had blown up part of the building she was right next to. The girl had to then jump out of the way from big pieces of debris that were falling, but even though she felt the impact she had with the pavement rip her jeans and scrape her knees, the girl didn't even feel it when she heard an inhuman screech.
Nick's head snapped up, eyes wide and she was already covered in dirt and sweat, as she felt her heart racing and not just because of how far she had ran. There was a Chitauri only five feet away from her and aiming it's weapon at her, causing the girl to quickly begin to back up, but then the ground rumbled and both Nick and the alien looked over to see that some sort of jet or plane or something had crashed.
Not paying that much attention to the crash though, Nick used that as her distraction to grab a blown off door of a car and get to her feet, hitting the alien with it. But when she turned around to use that to run, she suddenly froze when there was another alien.
Fear coursed through the 12-year-old as she quickly tried to think of what to do, then eventually she brought both her hands up, both hands giving off a bright white light that was enough to blind the aliens.
They let out pained screeches, and when the light disappeared, Nick took off again. She ran, heart pounding in her ears as she forced her legs to keep moving, until she realized that she was being followed by the two that she had apparently pissed off. Nick tried not to trip or fall as she accidentally bumped and ran into people, but she just kept running.
Eventually though, she ran into a crowd of people that were shoving through each other, all of them sprinting for their lives. But when a loud roar rumbled around them, shaking the ground, Nick stopped and looked up. A giant creature had come through the black hole and flew overhead, taking out buildings with it's wings as it also carried even more Chitauri.
Getting knocked to the ground is what snapped Nick out of the frozen shock and fear, and when she looked around and tried to keep from getting stepped, she noticed someone else had gotten knocked down from the stampede as well.
Loud explosions made Nick look behind them, seeing that Loki was being followed by other aliens, all on what looked like flying bikes of some sort, and they were rapidly firing at the ground below them as they headed down the street.
