Chapter 6: Inside Jokes With The Avengers

Sunday night was the farewell party, and after the day of trying to fix Giddy's voice box, the girl had made sure that the little Dino was asleep and charging. "JAR, let me know when Giddy's system is finished charging and updating."

"Of course, Miss Mendes."

"Thank you!" She grinned as she headed out of the lab, hearing JARVIS say. "Have a good evening, Miss Mendes."

Nick paused at the door, "You know, JAR, you can call me Nick."

"Have fun at the party, Miss Mendes."

She shrugged then headed down to her room and got dressed in a nice black sparkly long sleeved dress and pulling on a simple pair of black pair of open toed heels since Natasha had helped her shop for her outfit, and had talked about them getting her more used to heels for two reasons. Style and to help with balance, because when they started training, Natasha realized that yes, Nick knew how to fight, but it was just punches and stuff that she had learned on the streets - nothing about being light on her feet or being swift with anything. 

So that's what she started to teach Nick, was to fight more like that - which had actually meant that she started to teach Nick ballet earlier that week, and that's why the girl had sat out during gym class this past week, because of how sore she was. 

But wearing the heels also gave them a moment of "girl time" which included Natasha doing Nick's nails and hair, and makeup - while Nick did the red head's nails. 

After Natasha finished styling Nick's curls, it was already dark out - and she pulled them to the girl's right side, before styling one curl to frame the left side of her face, pinning them in place before Natasha headed down before Nick, so that the girl could take a moment to get used to the heels, despite wearing them around her room the night before just to try and break them in. 

After finishing tightening the straps, the girl straightened up and looked at herself in the mirror - biting her lip a bit, before smiling because she felt... happy.

Then with that, she headed downstairs - moving around and through the crowd of people that everyone but her knew, she went over to the bar. 

There was music playing and everyone was dressed up, while there were also different groups around the room, which is also why Nick found herself just wanting to stay at the bar until JARVIS updated her watch - which was connected to Tony's and was connected to basically everything in the Tower, but had it's own firewalls around it's system. 

The Avengers were spread around - and after grabbing a soda and beginning to walk around, Nick then moved over to where Tony, Thor, Rhodes, and Maria were. 

Rhodey telling them a story, of which Nick hardly paid attention to before moving over. "But, you know, the suit can take the weight, right? So I take the tank, fly it right up to the general's palace, drop it at his feet. I'm like 'Boom. You looking for this?'"
