The kids eventually managed to duck into a random building somewhere near the side of the city and far from the bridge. The two rushed across the floor of deserted tables and some knocked over chairs of the apparent restaurant. They ran behind the counter and into the kitchen - where there weren't any windows, allowing them to quickly duck and kneel on the ground, Nick making sure that they weren't in view of the back door or of the front door.

"What the hell is going on?!" Mark exclaimed, completely freaking out, but after seeing his head, the girl just shook her head and took off her jacket while reaching up to grab a knife off the counter. She then used the knife to cut off another two pieces of her jacket, before moving over to the sink, dropping the knife back on the counter as she got one of the ripped cloths wet.

"Here." She kneeled back down in front of him after pulling the scarf down, wiping off the blood and dirt on his face, making sure that the cut was clean, before she then grabbed the second piece of the ripped fabric and tied it around his head - making sure to use it as a bandage to cover up the deeper part of his cut, which was on his forehead. But obviously she didn't cover his eye.

"What the hell's the matter with you?" Mark shook his head once she was done, giving her a bewildered look. "You're acting like this isn't the first time something like this has happened!"

"Shush." Nick quickly told him as she stood back up and looked through the window of the door that led into the front of the restaurant, as if to make sure the legions couldn't hear them. But she also needed to figure out a way to get rid of them - which she knew was gonna be harder once she realized that she had dropped the gun at some point.

"This is normal for you?!" He exclaimed loudly, ignoring her order to be quiet, which made her glare at him. But then she looked around the kitchen, realizing that she could actually make this a weapon. And suddenly she was thanking her time in Texas, as she made sure to remember the details of when Tony had basically blown up that diner. "I have an idea."

"What the hell are those things?!" Mark stood up, shaking his head as he watched her begin turning on the gas oven but making sure not to light it. "Who the hell are you?!"

"You know what, if we survive this, then I'll answer your questions." Nick told him forcefully as she pulled him out through the back door, and into the road - then she practically shoved him and pointed. "Get to that building and wait for me."

Before he could argue, Nick ran back towards the building she came from and pulled the scarf back over her face - this time to make sure that she didn't breathe in the gas. She paused at the front of it and made sure that Mark had made it inside the building that was at least 30 feet away from her, before she then used her elbow and smashed the window a nicer abandoned car - making sure it's alarm began going off.

"What the hell is she doing?" Mark mumbled to himself as he ducked under the large window inside the building, just making sure that his head was visible because he wanted to see what was happening. Although, when he saw the five legions go after Nick again, he found himself wishing that he had just left her alone in the tent because he wished he was with his family right now - who had definitely already gotten out of the city, due to needing supplies really early in the morning today.
