Nick frowned as she looked at herself in the mirror, wearing jeans and a simple shirt, her hair pulled up. She still had a healing scrape on her chin and definitely a few bruises and cuts, but the most annoying thing was the knee brace she had to wear for another week. But if it was up to Tony, she'd spend that week at the Compound with him and Rhodey. Luckily though, she had been able to convince him that she couldn't miss anymore school - since it had already been about a week since Siberia.
But along with many contingencies that Nick and him both agreed on - one of which he didn't want to, but after many more incidents happening around the compound because of her powers glitching out - she thought it'd be best.
Apparently adding the fact that she had new powers, and whatever that sonic device Steve used on her - it meant her powers were more unstable than she'd like, and if she was gonna go to school, they had to figure that out.
After brainstorming with Tony, they found a way that he could make a bracelet with similar (but much friendlier) technology that the government had used on Wanda. But this was made by these two, and it was only meant to be worn for school - which is why they also built a chip in it, causing it to unlock and allow her to take it off once she walked through her apartment door - so there were no accidents in school involving Peyton, Flash, or even Mark... or even gym.
Reasons why she wanted this to at least finish the school year with, was because things ranging from the simplest things - like her reaching for a cup would cause all of them to come out of the cabinet, to her daydreaming about whatever and suddenly all the lights in the room or building would get turned off or all the way on. There were even a few incidents of her creating her light daggers in her sleep... and that's why she isn't allowed to have vases or nice things in her room anymore.
But obviously she wouldn't be wearing the high tech bracelet all the time, and she'd be practicing. She's already begun to talk to her father about when she uses her suit (he said that she wouldn't need to put it back on for a while, and not until they had a mission or whatever) but obviously she wasn't gonna listen to that.
After all, what best way to practice than go out and stop a few simple robbers.
Plus she was just excited to use her new vigilante room, and honestly, see what THEIA has to offer - because she was still excited and shocked by the fact that both of those had been in the apartment the whole time she's been there, just on a sleep until Tony activated them.
But she had to also give herself time to heal... so basically whenever she was able to take the brace off her knee.
She was also excited to figure out her powers, because there had been an incident when she was in the kitchen at the compound, making dinner - and dancing around to music, she had somehow created a fire... and when she panicked and moved her hand, that same gold had somehow broke the faucet but guided the water to spray on the fire.
