When Nick finally got back to her apartment, it was already dark out and she knew there was no way she could just go to sleep. Not only was she stressed about the Accords, but now... She found herself pacing across her loft floor, pulling her hair out of the bun and brushing her hands through it as she nervously bit her lip.

Finally she just went over and ran up the spiral stairs before going over to the laptop she had on the breakfast counter, she paused though, briefly biting her lip after she opened the screen. She knew exactly what she wanted to do... but was that really the best idea right now?

The answer was no, but she quickly began typing and typing - only five minutes later quickly grabbing her phone and typing in the address that popped up, before she then quickly got up and grabbing the big and worn out leather jacket that she's now had for about five years. She pulled it on herself before quickly heading down the stairs and rushing out the door, locking it behind her before jogging over to the elevator.

By the time she got out to the street and glanced around, she couldn't shake the feeling that someone was watching her, but after a look around and not seeing anybody - she just shrugged it off and continued to the subway.

About an hour later and she was in Manhattan, walking down the street but continually looking at her phone to make sure she was going the right way... until she eventually stopped at the end of a driveway, and was looking up at the small two story house that had an old fence around it's yard. She shoved her phone into her pocket and found herself fidgeting with the golden necklace, before quickly shaking her head and turning to just walk away - thinking that this was a really bad idea.

But then she stopped and looked up at the sky, just swallowing the fear and quickly turning back around, thanking god that it was only about 8 in the evening as she knocked on the door.

She waited a few moments, nervously shifting and glancing around, before taking a small step when the crappy porch light came on... followed by the door opening. And once the other person saw her, he was beyond surprised. But after shaking off the initial shock, he quickly looked back into the house before shutting the door, then he led her off the porch and down the path a bit, while hissing out. "What the hell are you doing here, Mendes?"

"I... came to see how you were doing." She admitted as they finally stopped and she looked at him, but Mark just scoffed and raised an eyebrow. "Why would you care?"

"I..." She breathed out, before shaking her head and brushing a hand through her hair, then she looked back up at him. "I heard about Charles, okay? I just... I knew you two were close and-"

"And what? You wanted sympathy?" He practically sneered at her, causing Nick to give him a look. "What - No, of course not."

"Then why the hell are you here? It's been months." He quietly asked, and Nick just shook her head. "Because I was..." She didn't know how to say that she was worried about someone that she used to hate. "Look, you both saved my life. I just wanted to give my... condolences or whatever."
