All the way down the hall, Nick's restraints all came undone, causing her to fall forward, hitting the ground hard as she squeezed her eyes shut, still in so much pain. The girl's eyes were flickering back and forth from her normal brown eyes to her power's blue-white eyes, while her entire body seemed to be lit up with that orange glow.

She felt her eyes watering as her lip trembled and she turned off her stomach and onto her side, looking down at her hands when the doctor came at her. Nick knew what was happening and the pain and fear was clouding her mind, but even through her blurry vision and everything, she knew that she couldn't let this win. The girl gritted her teeth and clenched her jaw as she bit her tongue to keep from making any more pained noises, then clenched her hands into fists and put them under her, lifting herself enough to kick a leg out, kicking the doctor in the back of the knee and causing him to fall forward.

But that movement caused the girl to squeeze her eyes shut again, a pained sob leaving her lips and when the doctor went over to her quickly, with a syringe in hand... he was suddenly grabbed from behind and his neck was snapped.

When his body fell to the ground, Nick looked back up, her brown eyes watching in fear as Junior stepped towards her, but when she tried to back up with a whimper, he just kneeled down next to her with his hands up. "I'm not going to hurt you."

She didn't believe him, but it didn't matter as she wrapped her arms around herself, doubling over with a pained yell - her insides feeling like they were burning.

Junior watched her in concern with his heart in his stomach, before he then quickly picked her up and leaned her back against the wall. "Hey, can you hear me?"

As an answer, she opened her eyes, but a tear rolled down her cheek. He nodded, "Okay, hey, you're okay. You're going to be okay." Her bottom lip was trembling as another tear rolled down her cheek, and her hands were gripping both her arms so much so that her nails were digging into her skin. "I know it hurts, but I've seen you fight. You're a fighter. You can survive this, okay?"

Nick just closed her eyes, another tear rolling down her cheek. "Please make it stop." She whispered, at this point, the pain was beginning to get to her.

Even her mind was so clouded that she couldn't think straight. All the anger, all the stubbornness, all the fear - it was all drowned out by this pain. All she could even think was how this continuous and worsening pain hasn't even been the worst one she's felt, but then her mind kept flashing back and forth from when she was in that room, to all the times she's gotten hurt. From the car accident, to when she was trapped in that dark closet at the Home, to when the battle of New York was happening - but worst of all, it wasn't even the physical pain she's been through.

It was the pain she felt when she learned her mother was gone. It was the pain she felt when she learned that Chris had abandoned her. And even the pain when she believed Tony didn't want her. And the pain when she thought that she had lost Tony.
