The first few hours of being in the closet, Nick was trying to calm down from the fight. She had tried wiping the blood from her nose and split lip, but she also knew that she was way more injured than that, knowing that she probably even had a couple bruised ribs.
But one of the reasons that the closet was one of the worst punishments, is that it forced someone to be in their own head. And after a couple more hours it felt like, she couldn't take it anymore. She began screaming, yelling, kicking the doors and walls, slammed her fists and elbows against the door (definitely hurting herself worse) as she screamed for someone to let her out.
Two hours of that, and she moved to the next stages of being stuck in there, which was pleading. She begged and pleaded for someone to let her out, apologizing and promising to never do anything like that again. Saying things that she prayed would get her out of there.
But then another hour had passed, and to anyone outside the door, it had gone surprisingly silent.
Only, for Nick, it was beginning to turn to hell. She gripped at the sides of her head, a slight pained groan leaving her lips as her head hurt, and she seemed to get shoved into her own head. She began hallucinating it seemed like, going in and out of being stuck in the small dark closet or being stuck and strapped by a seatbelt in a car that was going deeper into the dark water.
She began not being able to decipher which was real, causing her head to pound harder, made her throat sore, and made her chest begin to ache and hurt. She was beginning to have a panic attack.
The girl began having trouble breathing, which made it even worse, since she already couldn't decipher which was real. The panic attack making it almost feel like she was drowning again. Which also made her begin freaking out.
She began banging on the door, pleading and crying for them to let her free. Pleading for someone to save her as she scratched at and banged on the door.
But no one did.
Nick fell against the wall, unable to breathe as her hands went up and gripped her hair as she squeezed her eyes shut and slid to the ground, crying and trying to tell herself that it wasn't real. That all of this was just a nightmare.
She was stuck in the closet, like that, for longer than anyone else had. And that was 24 hours.
The next day (nearly two days after the fight), Tony and Brooks got to the Home. They talked to the headmaster for nearly an hour, before "convincing" him that it'd be best for him if he lets them take Nicolette Mendes back with them.
The headmaster did try to strike a bargain with Tony Stark to get money, but that's when Brooks stepped in, threatening that she knew what really goes on at that Home-School. And when she threatens the school (and especially since the merge happened) he finally called down to someone, before telling the two that someone was fetching her from detention but it may take a bit.
