Nick's heart began pounding harder in her chest and it wasn't because of nearly falling to her death in the elevator shaft, or from nearly getting shot and killed. But because once she opened her eyes, there was suddenly a sharp blade to her neck that was connected to a scepter, of which she looked down and saw someone that she remembered from going through the files with Tony.
It was Loki.
Nick could already feel the fear going through her veins as the end of the scepter pressed against under her chin, and she had no choice but to carefully follow him nudge her chin for her to get to her feet. She could feel the pain and sting in her left thigh from the bullet that had skimmed her, and she could feel all her muscles aching from the long rope climb she basically had to do.
The girl didn't even let herself breathe until the scepter moved from her neck, as the God of Mischief looked over her, smiling a bit at the fact that she was obviously scared. "You've got a power about you... I can sense it's strength." He then tilted his head, "Now tell me, how does a child like you possess such a great power."
"I don't- I- I don't know." She shook her head, and Loki continued to examine her, before he asked. "What's your name?"
So many things crossed her mind, but out of everything, she ended up saying. "D- Dawn."
Loki looked over her again, "You may come in use, child." He then moved forward, the opportunity to control how much power he could sense off her was too great an opportunity to pass up, but when the tip of his scepter went to touch her chest, there was a bight light and suddenly the two were knocked backwards.
Nick quickly rolled off her back and scrambled to her feet, not chancing it as she sprinted out of the main room and down the small hallway, until she reached her room, where she quickly locked the door, as though that would actually help. Then she quickly looked around her room and began shoving things against the door; from her desk, to the chair, to managing to push the small couch against it.
She then waited there, backing away from the door as she felt her hands shake, but when her back hit the wall, she suddenly jumped when the entire building rumbled.
Nick quickly moved over and swung open the window door that led out onto her balcony, when she rushed over to the edge and gripped the railing, the girl quickly looked about the city for the source before turning around and looking up. Her heart jumped as she saw the beam of light coming from the roof of the Tower and opening up what looked like a... black hole in the sky.
Nick backed away and went back inside her room, knowing that she really did need to get out of this building.
The girl looked around her room, before rushing over and dropping to her knees, the light dagger forming in her hand and allowing her to prop open the vent door. When she practically threw the door to the side, she got down onto her hands and knees and crawled into the vents.
