"Remember, don't forget." Nick was telling Tony on the plane ride to Washington, DC, which caused Tony to glance at her. "Forget what?"

Nick gave him a look, "The movie night that you promised me because of the multiple times we almost died the past week."

Tony gave a dramatic eyeroll as they stepped off the plane, "Alright, alright. Movie night tonight."

Nick groaned, "No, you idiot. Movie night tomorrow after school."

Tony now gave her a look, before rolling his eyes, sarcastically saying. "Gosh, excuse me. I'm am so sorry. Movie night tomorrow."

"It is my honor to be here today to present these distinguished awards to Lieutenant Colonel James Rhodes and Mr. Tony Stark, who is, of course, a national treasure." Senator Stern announced with a smile that definitely looked like it pained him, and Pepper had to elbow Nick to get the girl to stop laughing, but it didn't really work, so the girl just covered her mouth as the Senator turned to pin a medal onto Rhodes' suit. "Thank you, Lieutenant Colonel, for such an exceptionally distinguished performance. You deserve this."

Rhodey nods, "Thank you, sir."

"Mr. Stark," Stern moved to Tony. "Thank you for such an exceptionally distinguished performance." He pushed the needle too far, causing Tony to wince. "Oh, sorry. Funny, how annoying a little prick can be, isn't it? Let's get a photo."

Nick continued laughing as the crowd applauded.

The next day Nick waited until after school for her to turn in her project, and when she waited til everybody was gone, the girl was nervously and anxiously waiting the entire time as she had already made a probably extremely important decision... without telling anybody else.

When everybody had left and Nick was still in her seat, Mrs. Moroles let out a breath and stood up, before walking over and sitting in the desk chair in front of her. "Mendes, you alright?"

"Nope." Nick glanced up at her, before back tracking. "Well, I mean, if you're talking about the other day, then yep. That's all taken care of, kinda. Ish. But I- I am- I was just going to turn in the essay project... only it's probably not what you expected."

Patiently waiting until the girl stopped rambling, Mrs. Moroles gave her a kind smile and nod. "Okay. Can I see it?"

"Yes- well, no. Not until... um, I have to tell you something." Nick hesitated, the essay on the desk while she nervously fiddled with the pencil between her fingers. "Okay, so... honestly, this project was difficult. Probably more difficult than it should've been. You asked me to write about stuff I learned from working with Pepper Potts and Tony Stark... but truth is, I didn't learn anything working with them."
