It was about an hour later when Nick returned to the glass-walled office, which had Steve and Sam in it now. She sat down across from where Sam was at the table, and not even five minutes later, Sharon Carter walked in - handing Sam the paper. "The receipt for your gear."
"Bird costume? Come on." Sam looked to her offended after reading the paper, but the blonde just raised her hands a bit with a shake of her head. "I didn't write it."
"Wait, let me see that." Nick reached across, getting the paper and reading it, before she laughed and leaned back a bit. "Oh, that's great."
Sam gave her a hard look.
But Sharon just ignored the two as she had been watching Steve, before moving over and clicking a button that allowed the room to receive video and audio of where Bucky was being held and questioned. Nick looked up and moved her seat enough to get a good view of the interrogation, biting her bottom lip as she listened.
"I'm not here to judge you. I want to ask you a few questions. Do you know where you are, James?"The man evaluating Bucky asked, but Bucky doesn't answer him. "I can't help you if you don't talk to me, James."
"My name is Bucky."
Steve looks up from a photo, which had apparently been the evidence that Bucky was the one to bomb Vienna. Even though, if Nick was being honest, she wasn't convinced it had been him. Especially after the whole apartment building thing.
And neither was Steve, "Why would the Task Force release this photo to begin with?"
"Get the word out. Involve as many eyes as we can?" Sharon suggests with a shrug, and Steve nods while standing up. "Right. It's a good way to flush a guy out of hiding. Set off a bomb, get your picture taken. Get seven billion people looking for the Winter Soldier."
"You're saying someone framed him to find him?" Sharon looked at him, but then Sam spoke up. "Steve, we looked for the guy for two years and found nothing."
"We didn't bomb the UN. That turns a lot of heads."
Nick's eyebrows pulled together as she finally glanced back at them, "But that doesn't guarantee that whoever framed him would get him. It guarantees that we would."
Steve nods, turning back to the screen. "Yeah."
"Tell me, Bucky. You've see a great deal, haven't you?" The doctor asked, and Bucky doesn't even blink, staring ahead at nothing in particular. "I don't want to talk about it."
But then Nick looked back to the screen, she realized something and stood up. "The only person who could even get close to Bucky to do anything, is that guy."
"The doctor?" Sharon looked back at the girl, before shaking her head. "He wouldn't even be able to do anything. Not with all the cameras."
But as if on cue, all the power in the building suddenly went out.
