The next morning, after not getting a word from the team, Nick eventually had to leave the lab - where she actually fell asleep at - and got ready for school. She pulled on a pair of jeans, then a white long sleeve, and pulled on her boots. The girl then pulled on a red flannel jacket and grabbed the watch from her nightstand, putting it on her wrist as she then grabbed her backpack and headed out, already dreading what was gonna happen when she got to school. But she needed to stop running from her problems.

By the time school had started, Nick felt herself holding her breath, getting looks as she walked down the hallways. She kept her head up but nervously bit her bottom lip as she went through the first hour of school, trying to ignore all the whispers about her. But when she got to the next class and sat down in Mrs. Kings class, the substitute teacher had told her that they wanted to see her in the office, and Nick listened.

The young girl was waiting in the chairs in the front foyer, outside the office, nervously fidgeting with her sleeves before reaching up to mess with the necklace... but her heart actually dropped when she found that her necklace was missing. Nick quickly began looking all around her feet and on the floor before she finally left her bag on the seat and left the office, heading out into the empty hallway and quickly looking around the floor for it.

The 14-year-old could feel her heart beginning to pound faster in her chest as she quickly thought back to that morning, and she tried to remember if she saw it maybe somewhere in her room.

She quickly turned the corner in the hallway to head to her locker, but that's when she slammed right into someone. His books scattered everywhere as both kids stumbled back a bit, both bringing their hands up to their foreheads with "ouch"es.

"I'm so sorry, I wasn't looking where I was going." Nick quickly apologized as she looked up, seeing Peter, who shook his head. "I- I wasn't looking either."

"Are... Are you okay?" Nick asked, her eyebrows furrowing in concern, since he looked a bit like a mess. His hair was in light brown messy curls, which was actually kind of cute - but he looked a bit sick. His face was pale and flushed, it looked like he was sweating, and his clothes were wrinkled and not as neat as they usually were. And it seemed that he had also forgotten his glasses.

"Yeah- yeah, I'm just- just running late." Peter shook his head, before noticing her. He didn't know how, but he could tell that she was a bit panicky. "Are you okay?"

"Yeah." She nodded, before shaking her head and kneeling down to help him gather up his things. "Actually, no. I can't- I think I lost my necklace."

"The golden sun?" Peter asked as his eyes widened in realization when Nick looked up quickly, and she nodded. "Yeah, have you seen them?"

"Yeah. I guess you dropped it during the whole thing yesterday." Peter said as he swung his bag forward and began going through the front pocket. "I was going to give it to the office to see if they could find whose it was."
